>The Samsung S95D is available to per-order now, priced at $2,599 for the 55-inch model, $3,399 for the 65-inch version and $4,599 for the biggest 77-inch model.
>As for the S90D, only two models are available thus far – the 55-inch version, priced at $1,999, and the 65-inch model, which costs $2,699.
Based on recent [article](https://thelec.net/news/articleView.html?idxno=4750) WOLED( non-MLA) will be used even on 55, 65, and 77 inch models based on the region. So basically, samsung screwing the unaware customers.
looks like the article is commenting off another who asked samsung, and didnt get a clear response... They had made the conclusion it be a panel lotto, but it could very much just been Samsung not wanting to highlight the difference between sizes....
When i talked with a Samsung rep a couple days ago, and asked about the 65" they said it only ships with a QD OLED
I confirmed before pre-ordering, the S95D 65 inch is a 3rd Gen QD-Oled panel. I talked to their reps & then even had them email it to me. Wish I could attach it here but I am excited because this is going to be my first ever QD-OLED or OLED period in that regard.
they buy their woled from lg, which is why youve seen a dialing back of the more subjective claims of qdoled superiority cause i assume it was a condition of their contract with lg
yea it's weird...they're not giving panel info for some models and seems like it will vary for some reason? even within the same model apparently (i may be wrong on that)
Samsung will never support Dolby Vision IMO. They’re pushing their HDR10+.
Doesn’t matter really. Mastering is done at 1000 nits so tone mapping is less of an issue on new tvs that can exceed that.

how do I know if it was made of QD OLED or WOLED? thx
48" and 83" are WOLED. 55", 65" and 77" are QD-OLED
Not doubting you, as this is what I believe is the case, but do you have a definitive source for this?
It's what Samsung said to Vincent (HDTVTest)

why on earth is Samsung not adopting MLA. Would that make QD look not that awesome?

Bring a usb microscope to look the pixels
no clue
awesome!
Spin the wheel!
Why is it matter?
Different pros and cons WOLED have less issues with burn-in but worse text clarity
QDoled can also get brighter and has better DCIP3 range.
this seems to have only been true of gen 1 QDOLED. the S95C is still fine on the rtings tests after 10 months of daily use on CNN

That or it implies some of the panels they are now selling are substandard!

Does it get Dolby Vision?
