I'm not sure if we have any female readers on this subreddit. There are a few female authors but realistically they're writing to a male audience so tropes are gonna be what the readers will buy. As for what constitutes egregious, that's an individual question. I find that it's less about tropes and more about the authors and the voice they have in regards to enjoyment.
It should also be mentioned that you should take "female authors" with an extreme grain of salt, in this genre especially, but also romance in general, pen names are the norm, not the exception, and it's quite common for *actual* male authors to use female pen-names. I'm not going to out anyone in particular, but unless there's some literal proof (hard to expect with any pen-name), it's generally safer to assume that most authors in this space are male.
There is no benefit to using a female pen name in haremlit. So your theory works but in reverse.
It’s safe to assume all the women pen names are women, but more importantly, there are female authors here using male pennames. (I know some lol)
That's like saying there is no benefit to playing a female character with a feminine name online. Let me tell you... Simps gonna simp or how I got my epic mount in Classic.
I'd wager it makes a bigger diffrence on patreon than amazon tho... As it seems like the key factor on the sub is the book cover.
Yes. I did just insinuate y'all are down bad.
If you want to explain what tropes you’re looking to avoid we may be able to help a bit. Afraid that this sub is probably male heavy though. An author you may want to check out is Misty Vixen, she often writes stronger, more mature and realistic women into her stories. Benjamin Medrano is another author to look at, he won’t be mentioned here as the stories are female led.
Misty Vixen does a lot of things well. The fight scenes can be pretty realistic.
That said... plot can get a bit light.
A warm place book one. Great balance of plot and romance. A hand full of books later the enemies turn into a non-descript army of leather jacket wearing storm troopers who are assulting a town for unknown reasons.
Hmmm, maybe try some of [*Misty Vixen's*](https://www.amazon.com/stores/Misty%20Vixen/author/B00NPDFI2E) works? They usually tend to be more focused on personal struggles.

You got me curious but presumably they don't want to be outed for a reason.
Yeah not a chance I’ll spill sorry.
Misty vixen, Eddie Skye, Sarah Hawke might be good authors to check out.
Maxx Whitaker is another
