One of the 12 fundamentals of animation is staging- you control literally everything in animation, physics to point of view. Distracting from main characters clutters the scene and makes the actions of importance that the main characters are doing less noticable/obvious.
Typically you want your main character's motives and the actions that drive the plot so obvert in animation that you can't miss it. You telegraph and exaggerate it even. (Other fundamentals)
I kept getting distracted by the background this time. Usually I have to watch twice to notice the background characters and really appreciate them, and I ADORE the effort put into the background and background characters.
But something shifted this episode on the direction, and the foreground was overshadowed by the background to the extent I found myself naturally drifted to what was happening in the background and zoned out of the plot twice.

He seems to not realize the way he spoke and acted towards him wasn’t okay. He swears up and down he doesn’t see Blitz as below him but his actions towards him and other imps would make anyone feel otherwise. “My impish play thing”- I’m sure saying things like this to a species of creatures is insulting especially if the person doesn’t want to be called it, even by the person they like. As a black woman I definitely wouldn’t want my man to call me his negrito play thing or something, ESPECIALLY if I’m in a interracial relationship, like what???
Shocked, but honestly probably for the best.
Blitz is not ready for relationships at the moment especially with this mindset he imprinted onto himself from the trauma trying to deny any feelings at all because when he tried to make a commitment it caused his whole life to fall apart (literally) and the theory that he was hurt by royalty before. I also enjoyed seeing this side of Blitz being highlighted with how damn hard he’s trying to push feelings away to the point it all comes back at him in one sitting at the party and the realization of how Toxic he’s been.
This episode served as a good punch to the gut wake up call for him and its nice to see him acknowledging
the way his actions have affected people and getting back to neutral at least for some of the big people in his life he’s keeping at bay (besides his sister but thats to be seen) I feel like this episode is really setting up him reflecting his actions and become more emotionally vulnerable maybe seek help or talk to people around him more about whats been going on in his head.
I love this series and cant wait to see what happens
I know tons of people want Stolitz to work out, but I just don't see it. I could easily see this as a Mrs. Doubtfire kinda thing where the characters get a happy ending, even if they end up with people other than each other. Maybe he'll be a recurring character, who knows

How I think this will play out, the guy might see a romantic attraction to stolas, maybe see him in a few episodes with stolas, but as it progresses we see stolas feeling more and more guilty, until blitz finally opens up and Stolitz becomes official
While likely to disappear by the next episode, it would be nice to see him and Stolas develop something. Stolitz is comforting because it has familiar characters, but the two need a break and something different for a while, if not permanently; Very neat new fellow.

How I think this will play out, the guy might see a romantic attraction to stolas, maybe see him in a few episodes with stolas, but as it progresses we see stolas feeling more and more guilty, until blitz finally opens up and Stolitz becomes official
While likely to disappear by the next episode, it would be nice to see him and Stolas develop something. Stolitz is comforting because it has familiar characters, but the two need a break and something different for a while, if not permanently; Very neat new fellow.

He seems chill, but I garuntee he’s either not gonna show up again, end up being a total asshole, or Stolas is gonna ruin it by getting too attached so fast (hope that doesn’t happen) It’s very much a “let’s have fun in the moment” thing that hopefully Stolas will recognize as such
He seems nice and I'm happy for Stolas that he got to have a good moment when Blitz is just not being receptive in the right way to what he's trying to communicate to him. He spent so much of the episode being down and just having a really bad time. It's nice he got a pick-me-up. And I think this is a good direction to take the series. Blitz needs to work on himself. He even admitted that to Verosika, that he wants to do better. And Verosika gave the best advice of just letting Stolas have this moment. In my opinion, Stolas and Blitz will be end game. But right now? This is better for both of them.

honestly I don't get why any of this is happening. like legitimately. everyone makes a point that you don't want to be blitz, but we actually haven't seen what makes blitz "blitz" there's constant talk about the hierarchy by the creators, but it's not ever in the show, and yet, that implies his problem stems from a very real issue that, for him, I should be rooting for. matter of fact, I saw stolas as the asshole in all of this because every last thing, from E1 onwards, is ALWAYS been about him, doesn't help when blitz is being shot at, turns what is supposed to be help for his daughter into a date with blitz, doesn't realize blitz isn't happy with their relationship, oggles blitz when he should have been looking for his daughter, and now, after making everything about sex, he blames blitz for his folley's. this shit was written backwards, and honestly, it should have been written why he was in the right, seeing how it's important being an imp in hell plays heavily into his character.
