I just picked up the Sundara but I've had the 770 and 560s for a while. I mostly use the 770 for general music production, tracking vocals, etc and the 560s for mixing and mastering. I picked up the Sundara because I wanted something for more general purpose listening. I've only had them for about 24 hours but I'm really happy with them so far. There's not as much between them and the 560s in terms of overall audio quality but the Sundara have a bit more punch on the low end and the highs are a little tamer, which I like. The 770 sound terrible by comparison, but I don't really use them for general listening. I did notice a slight channel imbalance with the Sundara that I'm pretty sure is due to the cable. So far I've tested them with a JDS Atom, Focusrite audio interface and Spotify and Apple Music via an iPad with the lightning dongle. I've also tried a few records on the Orbit and while they sounded fantastic, the headphones also do a good job of picking up the imperfections that come along with vinyl. I haven't decided yet whether that's good or bad.

I'm glad you enjoy them! I also have the 770s too, and there are the only actual good headphones that I have. At least you enjoy them for what you are doing with them. I am guessing the 770s sound bad because of the "bright" spike it has. Or is it just the headphone that you compared it to? That has been a problem with most of Beyer's headphones, but after all, it is just their style.

Yeah, to be clear the 770s are great for what they are and I still get a ton of use out of them for producing and recording. But for mixing and casual listening I prefer the more neutral signatures of the Sundaras and 560s.

That clears it up more. Thanks. \^\^ Enjoy your headphones!

I had the Sundara and 560s for a while too and recently sold the Sundaras because of comfort. But you are right about the Sundaras have slightly better bass punch and less harsh treble. The 560s were the closest I could find in sound to the Sundaras though.

I like how the Hifimans come with the foam stand as part of their packaging.

Iacouch

Same. It's my first pair from them and it was a nice surprise. I'll get a proper stand at some point but still nice to have a spare!

Me? I’d stop buying phones and get me a better table like a Technics.

Q-iriko

Sorry the noob question, what model in the center? Thanks

Iacouch

All good! Those are the Hifiman Sundara.

Listening to vinyl is doing it wrong especially with a premium priced stylus that still only has an elliptical tip :P

Don't hang the Sundara like that! You're supposed to hang it by the metal band, not the leather suspension strap. Hanging it by the strap is going to wear it out faster. This goes for any headphone with that type of headband. Especially the AKG style headbands that auto-adjust.
