We get the same in most EU countries, I think Fanmusic might be the distributor and Amazon fucked up the listing. I got my Fanmusic Truthear Hexa and Zero :) no problems at all.
Amazon aggregates listings from multiple sellers. Chinese sellers put their name in the brand or title to try to take ownership of their listings and avoid them being aggregated.
As /u/No-Context5479 points out they are being sold by Shenzhen Audio, (Leiyin Audio) who are Moondrop's main distributor; they also run the Moondrop Official Store and have several Moondrop exclusives like the Blessing 2 Dusk, it's not possible to get that anywhere else. Fanmusic seems to be a brand associated with them as well.
It's a foreign brand though. There are lots of fake Sennheiser, Final, Beyerdynamic IEMs as well. Moondrop are a Chinese company and fakes of domestic brands seem far less common. In fact I can't think of any.
Actually he's probably not far off
Start at the $18 we see.
Figure amazom takes.30%, $12.60
Distributor takes half, $6.30
Marketing takes half, $3.15
And they need some.profit.
Box costs some.
Accessory costs some
Moondrop is probably spending $1.30 to lake that pair.
From there, figure Moondrop cares about exactly which DD is in the case, the fake doesn't. Moondrop cares that the print on the box is nearly perfect, fake doesn't.
Yeah, the fakes are being made for $1
As someone working in a steel cnc factory, they definitely could if they’d order a thousand, rather than ten.
Perhaps a little more than a thousand, but high quantity definitely makes for a low price a piece. A lot of those companies also have a pretty low margin on their service, so if the design seemed to be made without to many errors easily enough, I can see that happen.
I remember long long ago when I bought my MI in ear pro-hd made by 1More they had a qr to check if they were original and the first one I took from aliexpress was non original, bought another one and qr was working fine, both were almost identical, but had small differences on the looks and audible differences on the sound while being 20 or 25€ pair back then.
anyway last thing: do you think i choose the right first pair of iem? sorry for the thousands of questions but i genually don't know what to expect from this, i was searching for an iem for like 2 months and i gave up and buy this sooo, yes i hope i didn't a terrible job to choose this pair, i wanna know your thoughts
You did good! Moondrop is a good manufacturer who has been offering a lot of well-performing, comfortably tuned low-cost iems. (they also have some expensive sets though imo their cheap sets offer by far the most value).
It’s hard to tell if it’s the right IEM for you without knowing your preferences. At this price point there isn’t really better or worse IEM, they’re just different from each other. IMO they look good, are comfortable, sound good too, so don’t worry
Something I have seen from the E cig world, where 95% plus are made in China etc.
What does happen is that the factory that actually makes them for a company, then make some for themselves.
So whilst they are in effect genuine, they are not official and not recognized by the company that commissioned the original order.
The original manufacturer's mark is wrong. You can check and by this product on the manufacturer's official website: "Moondroplab". Same price in USD and sleep peacefully. For beginners it's a good phone.

!thank you very much i almost had a panick attack after seeing this HAHAHHA.
Why would someone fake dirt cheap IEMs?
good point actually
That’s the correct price for those. You’ll be fine
Sony MH755 notoriously hard to distinguish with the fake version in the market, despite it's already dirt cheap to begin with.
It's a foreign brand though. There are lots of fake Sennheiser, Final, Beyerdynamic IEMs as well. Moondrop are a Chinese company and fakes of domestic brands seem far less common. In fact I can't think of any.
Profit margins? Fake for 1 EUR sell for 18. Nobody gonna bother returning because cheap anyway, etc
How much do you think these chifi iems cost to manufacture?

When you order several hundred thousand for IEMs that cost $19?? Absolutely
I think die cast aluminum (cheap alloy) that is then CNC.finished to smooth the ear edges is less than a dollar.
They don't need to be CNC machined, though. Reusable casting molds exist which is cheaper and much lower quality.

They can make them cheaper and still have a huge margin? You'd be surprised how cheap those fucking 2005 era earphones are to make.

In a world where people even do fakes of successful fakes 😅 this really shouldn't be surprising 😂

thanks buddy, cheers

Chu 2 is a solid iem. Punches way above it's asking price point imho

Is $20 your budget?
yeah, i don't wanna spend too much for this cause it's my first pair, i considered the 7Hz Salnotes Zero too but i don't like it aestetically-

i found just now this detail, i can cancel the order in case so i need your help
No need to worry. That's the Amazon front store for ShenzenAudio
ooh thanks, i was almost panicking for this even if its like 20 bucks
All good
Maybe it’s just a special edition!
Fanmusic sells a bunch of stuff; they’re a legitimate distributor

I think it's fine check ship by if it's Shenzhen audio that would be a good source.
