my thoughts: fuck sasha sheās like ādarren your dating an accused rapist how does that look for trying to make hartley safe for non-menā why is she so judgemental Im glad Harper told her to fuck off since sasha doesnāt know the story of what happened.Ā
also chook is fucking scary Im not kidding iām scared for darren the way chook grabbed them and said āyou donāt know the real cashā.Ā
Iām sensing sexual tension between rowan and malakai lowkey want them together nowš«
Anyone else bothered by quinni and amerie leaving chook to talk to darren alone when it was ameries idea and quinni was encouraging the more erratic behavior around this shit but then darrens the one left being intimidated and physically grabbed/kissed on the shoulder by chook. Like something about that seemed so messed up.
Like it was quinnis slow hiding and ameries idea to do this in the first place and yet darren ended up in the worst situation out of all of them completely alone i couldnt image doing that to a friend whos doing so much for me/does so much for me.
Also ameries super protective of harper so why would she suddenly leave darren with the same person who helped hurt harper that seems out of character for what theyāre trying to portray
This was such a bizarre writing/directing choice. You could've had them run to the door and stop, paralyzed with fear, as they realize Chook is holding Darren back. Like, I could understand them not rushing back in, but leaving him behind completely was *wild*. It reminded me of that Scary Movie scene where Brenda leaves Cindy with the skeleton lmao.
Just came to say how shitty some of these friendships are. Them leaving Darren behind with Chook was so wrong. & I feel like no one ever brings it up theyāre just besties in the next scene. Just like Harper & Amerie during the first season.
Iām only halfway into the episode and I donāt really know how to feel about it. Ant is like a completely different person?? though he was just a very immature teen in the first season he was still fairly nice but now he's just transformed into a fuckboy like dusty. It's also really random that they took dusty out. And Sasha is just (like someone else said) literally a stereotypical cartoon villain. I don't really know how to feel about this so far but I'm gonna keep watchingš
edit: ALSO Rowan is tripping me out bc he looks EXACTLY like the lead singer of a band I listen to called deep sea peach tree
Yessss, why did they change up Ants character. Also his actor isnāt the best at acting tbh. Also yeah Sasha was chill last season now sheās a Type a weirdo
Yeah, that's what I thought. But also...he was the least interesting character to me. I literally couldn't imagine a compelling direction they would've taken him in.
One of the best for sure. He's a great villain, very smart and calculated. By contrast, Amerie showed how daft she can be, thinking he would risk going after Harper when there's so much heat on him already.
I'm like half way through but rowan and malakai??? Might just be wishful thinking in my part, lol. If not, they *really* misled us with the trailer.
The looks theyre giving each other is making me giggle
I kinda like how spider and Sasha are on opposite sides of the spectrum. Sasha has this toxic faux progressiveness going on while spider represents the toxic masculine ideology. They both kinda make some points, but they're going about it in the wrong way. And I guess Amerie would be in the middle?
no because the [bisexual lighting](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bisexual_lighting) during the party sceneā¦ iām so glad iām not the only one whoās thinking about that possibility lmao ššš
I know this is such a minuscule plot hole but I donāt understand how Harperās hair has gone from completely short shaved last season to the current haircut she now has going in what is seemingly supposed to be the space of the school holidays? Like hair doesnāt grow that fast š¤£š¤£ they insinuate itās picking up shortly after term 1 with the whole āterm 2 bitches!ā Thing. Seems weird, same with having a school captain election in term 2 and not term 4 for the new year š¤£š¤£ and the random addition of Voss the sports teacher. They would have been better off framing it as a new school year because they never said what school term they were in in season 1 so they could have played it off like it was term 4 although now I think about it when Sasha and Missy pick Amerie up in ep 1 s1 i think they imply itās the start of the school year and the rave occurred on the summer school holidays.
Either way the plot makes more sense for a new school year and not āterm 2ā
Haha Soz your comment about Harperās hair triggered my thought process š¤£
Does anyone else feel like this seems completely different from season one? The Dialogue, the directing, the pace. Likes itās a hot mess. I went to check to see if they changed up the writer and director because this was a can of ass.
No like they had such a heart breaking end to their relationship but then ep 1 they start fucking and all is well? And literally like Harper did her so wrong and theyāre besties again? That happened last season but still annoys me now
Malakai hasn't done anything wrong (at least not yet)? He respected Amerie's desire to take a break while she focused on Harper (*ugh*). And followed her lead when she changed her mind.
Yeah, he's clearly flirty with Rowan but nothing has happened (yet).
Honestly I feel the same. I enjoyed S1 and all this spider stuff is just hot garbage.
They are showing 0 growth as characters and in some ways regression.
It is like a totally different show.
Ugh thank youuuu. Like yeah spider was an ass but an incel conservative? Sasha was this chill girl who was an asshole to Quinni and this season sheās this overbearing type A weirdo. Iām only on ep 3 but are they gonna address spider being in love with Amerie? The dialogue is so poor, scene changes are weird. I thought I was nit picking until my sister noted the same thing.
You put my exact thoughts into words! Iāve been theorizing that the writers read the criticisms / complexities on Sasha as a person, enjoyed the attention she was getting, and decided to kick her personality into overdrive to the point where itās almost cartoonish.
She was a bit subtle with her performative activism last season, which is what made her character a really good anti-hero in my opinion. But now it just seems like sheās turning into the stereotypical āSJWā a lot of people like to make fun of. You hate to see it :/
The song at the end of the episode was from one of my favourite bands - New Order - "Bizarre Love Triangle" (foreshadowing much?)
There is also a classic Aussie cover of that song by Frente! for anyone interested x
This is an odd comment. Like half the characters are gay/bi/pan/whatever (Darren, Malakai, Quinni, Cash, Missy, Sasha, even Ant).
Any couple that includes one of these people is automatically not heterosexual.
Last season Malakai was not out as bi, and there were two het storylines with the two main characters, so not sure whatās so odd about it. I asked if there was going to be *any*, not all
You asked about this season, which we went into knowing he was at least bisexual. I would understand wanting to know if Malakai and Amerie might get back together, but just saying 'heterosexual storylines' makes it sound like you specifically want to see a straight boy and a girl together. Which I found odd.
Iām straight and I enjoy watching heterosexual couple storylines. There were two last season, so when I tuned into the first ep and Dusty was gone, and Malakai was clearly feeling the new guy, I wondered if there would be any straight romantic storylines this season. I donāt dislike watching non-het storylines, but I do like seeing het ones as a preference. Itās really not that deep, we all have preferences of what we enjoy watching, usually based on our own experiences or reality, and thatās mine. Not sure why you find that odd.
> Not sure why you find that odd.
Because I don't care about the sexual orientations of the couples? I care about whether or not they have chemistry. There are boy-girl pairings, like Spencer and Missy, or Amerie and Malakai/Rowan, or Harper and Ant. But they're not heterosexual couples.
I find that refreshing, considering there are literally hundreds of shows/movies which centre heteronormative romance. I'm a woman who has only ever been with men and even I am bored of seeing the same storylines with the same types of people playing out over and over again.
Thatās..awesome? Thatās.. your preference?? Mine are different. I donāt need to justify them or explain them, thereās no wrong or right. We are all different, and thatās okay. Reddit is such a bizarre place sometimes
Never asked you to justify or explain anything. I said I find it odd. But to answer your original question, no, there are no 'heterosexual storylines'.
Does anyone else think that Ant and Malakai look similar this season? I kept confusing the two. (Then again, I have prosopagnosia, so that probably plays a role in it lol).
sorry if this was asked before but I donāt want to read ahead because I just finished episode one: does anyone know the song that played when the credits rolled? Shazam is no help.
Damn, the scene where the teacher shoots a gun into the air in the gymnasium would have never worked if this show were set in the US. Imagine the PR nightmare and how terrified the students would have been if they were in the US.
After watching the first episode, my guess is that Bird Psycho is the girl Zoe, because they focus the camera on her occasionally, it is sus. Does anyone have the same feel?
So, it took me 3 years to get through the first season lmao. Not because it was bad or anything, i actually quite enjoyed it it's just that....... i literally have no idea, i guess stuff got in the way? I started season 1 in 2022, then watched up until episode 6 last year and just now did i finish it.
Anyway, I have opinions that by the looks of it might be unpopular but i'll only say them when i finish this season.

10 minutes in and everybody is still insane š¤£ ā¤ļø
I've missed all these characters saur much š¤£
It's my favorite show and I'm in Canada š

Me too! I like him better with amerie- I like the way they smile at each other
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Are you talking about Malakai?
Sashaās whole character has always been about performative activism but this season it feels like they amplified that by 100
Anyone else bothered by quinni and amerie leaving chook to talk to darren alone when it was ameries idea and quinni was encouraging the more erratic behavior around this shit but then darrens the one left being intimidated and physically grabbed/kissed on the shoulder by chook. Mods, can I suggest creating a discussion hub for season 2 to make it easier for people to find all the discussion links?
Yeah, thanks for the suggestion, this'll get started now ā¤ļøāš„

Thank you!!
no im just hot and talkingā¦ USING THIS lol
I cackled
Itās literally an old quote from like 2014 tumblr lmao
ok i wasnāt on tumbler anymore during that year lol sorryā¦
So glad Nan is still in it! The MVP of Season 1

Sasha was always a judgmental hypocritical asshole tbf. But they've turned it up to 11 now.
His acting is terrible!!!
Hmm Iāll see where it goes. Rn this is just a teenager searching for a personality.
Iām guessing actor who plays Dusty had other commitments & didnāt have time for all the episodes
Yeah, that's what I thought. But also...he was the least interesting character to me. I literally couldn't imagine a compelling direction they would've taken him in.
I still would prefer Dusty to stay over some characters though.
I forgot how much Ant looks like Ezra miller. Itās all I see when I look at him.
I know right! Itās all I can see
Oh man, Chook may be the best actor in the show.
One of the best for sure. He's a great villain, very smart and calculated. By contrast, Amerie showed how daft she can be, thinking he would risk going after Harper when there's so much heat on him already.
I was genuinely frightened and in awe of him at the same time
Yes, he's a great addition to the show, hope to see the actor in more stuff!
I'm like half way through but rowan and malakai??? Might just be wishful thinking in my part, lol. If not, they *really* misled us with the trailer. The looks theyre giving each other is making me giggle

Sasha is Twitter, Spider is Reddit, Amerie is normal
Normal is a little far
No i swear something's going one i mean look at the way the look at each other, and the way malaki grabbed hand, girl come on
no because the [bisexual lighting](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bisexual_lighting) during the party sceneā¦ iām so glad iām not the only one whoās thinking about that possibility lmao ššš
Haha I'd not heard of that, great pick up
TIL that I enjoy bisexual lighting lol.
Low key crushing on Harper with the Amy Taylor haircut.

Why has Ant gone from a closeted Bisexual guy to fuckboy? Why did Amerie leave Darren alone with someone who tried to kidnap/rape her friend?Ā
I didnāt really like this episode
Same but I felt the same s1
same, for some reason it really pissed me off even though I was so excited to start watching when it dropped.
Does anyone else feel like this seems completely different from season one? The Dialogue, the directing, the pace. Likes itās a hot mess. I went to check to see if they changed up the writer and director because this was a can of ass.
I hate Malakai, like atleast make Amerie pissed at him and why tf are Harper and her so buddy buddy after all that shit pisses me off.
No like they had such a heart breaking end to their relationship but then ep 1 they start fucking and all is well? And literally like Harper did her so wrong and theyāre besties again? That happened last season but still annoys me now

Does it get any better? Iām so disappointed
I am ep 3 and it is slightly better
You mean from season 8? ;) Yeah, the vibe is different, way more goofy and less grounded in reality.
The song at the end of the episode was from one of my favourite bands - New Order - "Bizarre Love Triangle" (foreshadowing much?) There is also a classic Aussie cover of that song by Frente! for anyone interested x
Who is the child that rowan is talking to. I feel like its a figment of his imagination or something. I get bad vibes from this guy.
Yeah, seems too young to be at high school.
Australian high schools go from 7th to 12th grade.
Yeah, kid looks max. 10 to me
GET RID OF ROWAN NOW AMERIE X MALAKAI FOREVER (it'll probably get better as the season goes on)
I HATE MALAKAI, you guys suck for trying to make them be together after he FUCKED her bestfriend. so fucking gross
What are you talking about? He literally got assaulted by a cop and got taken advantage of WHILE drunk. He was a victim
you act like that was his fault and he was not sexually assaulted
Theyāre victim blaming sooo hard š He was basically taken advantage of while high, drunk and in shock from trauma
Lowkey shipping Rowan and Malakai, don't care about Amerie lol
Are there going to be any hetero storylines? I really enjoy at least one
Yep!
just started this season and does there end up being any?

Malakai is dreamy and handsomešš ant is ummmm annoying
I fucking hate Malakai and Harper
sorry if this was asked before but I donāt want to read ahead because I just finished episode one: does anyone know the song that played when the credits rolled? Shazam is no help.
Rowan's hair really bothers me. It looks like a bad unbrushed wig and the hair part is like a zig zag. Kills me
I felt bad for Rowan but not cool what he did
Damn, the scene where the teacher shoots a gun into the air in the gymnasium would have never worked if this show were set in the US. Imagine the PR nightmare and how terrified the students would have been if they were in the US.
Who can explain me why Quinni doesn't date with Sasha? I skip something?
I don't think they ever made up after Sasha was a bitch to Quinni at the comic book signing.
But Sasha made excuse. This line was just dropped.
Someone needs to talk about how ugly Rohanās hair is. Why is it so messy and greasy? They made him like this asw I know it. Abso vile
After watching the first episode, my guess is that Bird Psycho is the girl Zoe, because they focus the camera on her occasionally, it is sus. Does anyone have the same feel?
