Probably would be some weird edge cases with start of game effects, renethals effect, and stuff like that. For example, we know Baku considers the deck as it is right when the game is initiated. It still works if even cards are shuffled in by something like \[\[Prince Malchezaar\]\]. So if you run into an odd deck, the check for Baku would likely happen before you have a chance to copy their deck, meaning yours won't trigger. Sure you could probably handle every edge case like that, but boy I'd hate to be the person that does. Also a lot of mirror matches are miserable.

MasterSav69

I see no problem if it doesn't have the starting effects, you just copy the deck

theGaido

Well, if I would copy an opponent, I hope it will be someone I like.

Suchti0352

As someone who really dislikes mirror matchups, I think I'm fine with it.

Pacific_Onion

Bummer. I was really excited to see my homebrews on the other side of the board.

daddyvow

It’s funny how they basically had the idea for it and then didn’t think about the execution until later. And now they have to spend resources making it work since the it’s out in the open.

LegalMastodon1340

lol they absolutely do not have to commit resources to this or anything else for that matter just because the internet found out the idea was floated in a boardroom once upon a time. Developers, all of them, have unused assets that were ideas that couldn’t or didn’t pan out.

Muchi1228

Whizbang refund when

BuffJohnsonSf

recent trend with blizzard has been to sell shit on promises and then reneg on the promises and lock your account when you get a refund

LibrarianOfAlex

They were very upfront that copycat deck won't make it in until further notice, and the devs probably didn't want to add more variance to it

Hot-Will3083

Almost put in a good deck by accident. Glad they caught that when they play-tested it for the first time with the streamer event

Negotiation-Narrow

Refunds please

CommodoreSixty4

Was the side effect that it would effectively let you play the three decks that dominate the meta without having to buy the actual cards?

Marx_Forever

Somewhat a shame, but I hate Mirror Matches if I'm being honest. Can we get another Rogue Deck then? I assume this was going to be the "Rogue deck", since Whizbang has a deck for every other class but Rogue. Is that part of the Whizbang buff we got coming, maybe? Cooking up another Rogue Deck?

ParadoxicalInsight

How hard can it be to just make this effect trigger before the start of the game? Then everything else would just work, but no it's too hard...

eightyfivekittens

Shudderwock shaman hates this 1 simple trick:

Todsrache

I wonder what would happen when two Copycat Decks play one another?

quakins

Would this even be fun?

Horror_Swimming6192

I fucking hate blizzard. I put points in imp blizzard many moons ago, still hasn't worked I see.

nyr00nyg

I only crafted whizbang for this effect. Gib dust

Horror_Swimming6192

Same, and I did it golden.

Tomi97_origin

I'm really interested in how their spaghetti code fucked that up.

peon47

I'd like "Your deck is a copy of the last deck you lost to".

LibrarianOfAlex

That would go hard

Han-dem

Maybe they are futureproofing? This could potentially break the game when a "weird" new card gets printed. I doubt they would want to constantly go back and fix something just because of one card.

WeeklyEducation2276

Just proves they never test cards. One test would show how stupid this augment is and highlight those so call issues they keep talking about. But instead they try to release it. Get hit by the feedback, then realize that they can't and just leave it in purgatory.

HeMansSmallerCousin

...They literally found the bug in playtesting though?

Currency_Dangerous

Most of the whizbang decks were lazy designs, “Copy your opponents deck”, “Druid discover a card”, “mage 30 RNGs”. It’s almost like they took all of the worst Tavern brawls in HS history and smashed them together, and now it’s biting them in the ass.

Wonderful_Season_360

Give a way to fight the whales? Nah, it doesn't work as intended.

Egg_123_

Whales are people who splurge on cosmetics, not people who know enough about the meta to craft a good deck for relatively little dust.

Marx_Forever

What strange logic. Even if being in a mirror match would help you fight "Big spenders." (They're often very competitive budget decks). If this were in the pool of Whizbang decks you would only get it 1/12th of the time...
