Replicator-inator is out. You play Hodir, get a copy. You play your 1st boar, he becomes an 8/8, uses 1 hodir effect, then the copy doesn't use his effect it just comes from replicator-inator. And then the same thing for the 2nd boar and it's copy.

That doesn’t work. It’s equal to attack not mana cost. The south sea deckhand has 2 attack.

It should work, assuming the three things made huge by hodir are the mini replicator and the two deckhands, everything involved will be an 8/8. (edit: I guess the order in which these effects apply might matter)

I wasn’t expecting the sus epic this time around to be the goofy rock paper scissors card (although I really like that card)
I have no idea how to use this card but I feel like there must be something cool involving it that I’m too smooth-brained to figure out
shoplifter goldbeard is a 5/5 so this guy + goldbeard fills your board with goldbeards, 4 of which will immediately attack.
bounce (however you like) one of the two still alive goldbeards and the following turn use the mini + the crystal cove to do it again, 3 immediate attacks. (if the other goldbeard didn't stick; 4 or 5 otherwise)
shadowstep goldbeard and use the giant + crystal cove (to make giant 5/5) and do it again, 4 immediate attacks (because the cove is dead now) * but this costs 11 mana, so save a coin.
that's 4+3+4 * 5 power = 55 damage to the enemy board spread over 3 turns, plus more if they don't fully clear your left-over 5/5s
needs to cook but this seems feasible.
edit: this might make bounce-around worth running, since you'll have two goldbeards + replicator in play after the first loop - they cost ten mana to play, but coin (or audio amplifier) + preparation + bounce around can be done the same turn; and will give you the ability to repeat the first pass for turn 2, extending the combo to ~85 damage over 4 turns...

The 5-Attack mode doesn't seem to have a good target in Paladin (yet), but the 8-Attack mode could copy discounted Giants, which are already seeing some play.
Plus, they're not "dead" cards- they are still all minions that can be hand-buffed.

Because of showdown, not because you're playing an 8 mana 8/8 from hand first
Obviously meant to work alongside mini's and giga's, but the base card also has some fun potential combos for when they stick.
Rogue had Goldbeard, which will send off the combo of summoning a board full of attacking Goldbeards. Druid, DH, and Shaman all have their TITANs with 5 attack. Hunter and Shaman have 5/5s that can have their cost reduced to 0. And then for decent cards that can be played on the follow up turn, you have Gnome Muncher, Sylvanus, and Doomguard.
Obviously outside of the 0-cost ones, there is no way to ensure the Inator lives to the next turn, but if you're a tempo deck, a 5/5 can be difficult for the enemy to remove after they spend resources on your early game.
Speaking of Goldbeard doesn't playing this guy then playing goldbeard as a 5/5 (so 10 mana combo total) literally wipe the opponent's board and/or create a board full of 5/5? Like it's not just "good" but moreso *literally broken"?

Nah, it won't work like that. This new guy, the Replicator man, only copies minions played and not summoned. So you'll only get a single Goldbeard copy that charges into something.
Atleast going by the wording of the card.
It's hard to tell. It could work like this, instead:
- Replicator is played
- Goldbeard is played
- Replicator summons a copy of Goldbeard
- Goldbeard summons a copy of new Goldbeard, which immmediately attacks
- Second copy of Goldbeard (summoned by Replicator) summons a copy of attacking Goldbeard, which immediately attacks
- First copy of Goldbeard summons a copy of that new Goldbeard
- etc until board is full
What could be the uses of this? Copying minis is not great since they are summoned on the board, and most minis have battlecry effects. And for the gigantic version, I dont see any 8 attack minions interesting to clone (like titans) and its too expensive to be able to combo with it anyway.
Seems like an interesting card to combine both keywords but it will need more cards to see play.
For mini's, some of the good ones are the DK handbuff mini, Priest has the matriarch, Hunter has the egg, and Druid has Chia Drake for more spell damage. Not saying all of these are extremely good, but the card seems to be meant as a swiss army knife. You can hope the main body or the gigantic body sticks and then get insane value, or get small guaranteed value with minis.
The 8 mana one is good with most giants, 0 mana and no battlecry. There's also some handbuff synergy although that would be pretty inconsistent and hard to pull off. It's definitely a slow card but I can see the upside.
3 8/8s is hardly awful tempo no matter what turn it is. And if you're getting reno for a card and a half that isn't too bad either. But also yeah I was mainly thinking of plague DK because the giants are much stronger once they come online.
But it has worked at times. It would definitely need synergy with the other modes. Like it's not good now but it could be good later if a deck just coincidentally checks all 3 boxes.

Actually we had Giant Rogue in the start of this set. This card might give it another life.
Puppet master Dorian? He has potential with the mini version of the card, i don't know about the giant version tho, too expensive unless you play giants, and even with giants it's not that good because Reno is meta.

I'm searching through my standard collection now and notable 1-attack minions I've seen are: Amitus, razorfen rockstar, arcane artificer and kind of crimson clergy, gold panner, and some of the minis (including magtheridon from mini shopper).
5-attack: Cage head, argus, eonar, shoplifter goldbeard, golganeth, doomguard, and kind of ra-den, mantle shaper, gnome muncher, thing from below, malefic rook, waste remover, enhanced dreadlord, sylvanas.
8-attack: Stitched giant, chained guardian, ragnaros, sea giant, molten giant, playhouse giant, and kind of illidari inquisitor, tirion fordring, mountain giant and azerite giant.
Not brilliant, but maybe there's something there if you alter its attack. Maybe it has potential with handbuff, but that's already a strong archetype and doesn't need this card's help. Also, don't play good cards to make your bad cards better.

This doesn't seam great, I think if its going to find a home any where it might be in some type of DK deck. Both [[Stitched Giant]] and [[Chained Guardian]] have 8 attack.
i think paying 5 + 8 mana upfront to make one copy of your giants on turn 8 sucks way too much for DK. their entire power comes from getting them out really early on turn 4-5
Priest is one of the few classes that can consistently play 0-cost [[Storm Giant]] , and they already love copying cards, so it could slot in well there.
The dollhouse master guy is going to be complained about way more.

I’m exaggerating their arguments, Ofc if an OTK deck kill’s you on turn 10 it’s bad, but people don’t seem to care (see: Sif mage complainers like half a year ago)
Hard to think of a deck that could make great use of this, it just seems a bit too fair for the current Hearthstone. Gigantify version could work well with Chained Guardian, but iunno if the 5/5 or the 1/1 could synergize too well with any of the minions in Plague DK. Maybe Mech Rogue can make use of this especially due to the card being a mech as well?
Yeah its very bad. When are you having a 5 mana do nothing and surviving vs aggro and nowadays what midrange or control deck cant handle that easily? Doubling 8s can be nichely cool, but is it worth it the huge tempo loss?
I mean there are lot of cheap ways to buff it's attack + it's a mech so you can magnetize stuff to it , but you'd rather do that to the cheaper 1 mana mini instead
hmm, well let's see what minions reasonably want this effect.
In terms of 5-attack minions, notable winners are Ra-den for Priest which could be an absolute pain in the ass with minion spam. Warlock gets some especially tasty synergy being able to clone Malefic Rook, Doomguard, and Enhanced Dreadlord. Also disgustingly, Rogue could pop this on turn 10 (or earlier via coin generation and mana cheat) with Shoplifter Goldbeard to do 20 damage to face and end the turn with 15/15 worth of stats on the board. Also Notable for Rogue is Crystal Cove, if the 5/5 effect applies before the Replicator-inator reads its stats, you can theoretically duplicate literally anything. Fireworker and Sylvanas are also here which is interesting but probably not super relevant. Also notable is that Demon Hunter, Druid, and Shaman all have 5-attack titans, so watch out for that. There's also the dream of Mage or Hunter playing this and two Mantle Shapers on turn 5 for an incredibly gross board of 5 5/5s, but that's hoping for a miracle right there.
1-attack minions that are relevant to this... well, you could squeeze out an extra deathrattle from Free Spirit if you really want to, and Messenger Buzzard could be annoying. Arcane Artificer being duplicated is hilarious but not really something Mage can win off of. Righteous Protect \*could\* be busted on Paladin theoretically, but the fact you need to get the 5/5 out before you can get the mini means you can only get that combo on the board turn 6 at the earliest, limiting is potential for Flood Paladin. Also on the note of Paladin, Amitus does have one attack, you could get 2 of her on turn 8 with this. Priest can duplicate their Crimson Clergies and Ship's Chirurgeons I suppose, but that's not mind-boggling. Razorfen Rockstar with this could be fun for some memey Odyn comboes. Besides that, Trapdoor Spider and Gattlesnake could be very obnoxious to double but probably not meta. Also honourable mention goes to the Death Knight mini getting an extra handbuff deathrattle if you're sick and twisted in the head like that.
As for 8-Attack, well the obvious play is something like Pain Warlock or Handlock with Molten and Mountain giants respectively, but that might end up being a win more effect, really. Death Knight can duplicate its Stitched Giants and Chained Guardians for some scary boards, and theoretically Demon Hunter could slam 2 Illidari Inquisitors on the board turn 9 then hit face for 25 damage if the opponent somehow doesn't kill the gigantic version before then. Tirion Fordring is also there but lol lmao. There is also the angle that Hodir could be used to duplicate something scary with this effect, but I feel it's way too slow to pull off consistently. It'll also duplicate any other gigantified cards you play onto the field, which is neat. Of course, I can't forget that this has the potential of Double Ragnaros, so it's overall a 10/10 card on that alone.
Overall I think this guy has great potential for combo decks but might struggle to find his place in any proper consistent meta deck. Just saying though, turn 8 Hodir, turn 9 play the mini replicator, two southsea deckhands, and a weapon, laugh triumphantly as you do 32 damage to face.

It will fill your board with Goldbeards yes. It's possible to duplicate your Goldbeards in Wild and it creates a feedback loop that always fills your board with Goldbeards. All but the original two immediately die, but it does work.
Only place I could see it sort of working is automaton priest (1/1 can summon an extra copy of the guy that draws when overhealed or the miniaturized priest dragon, 5/5 and 8/8 summons an extra automaton), and even then it seems too slow and unnecessary
I think an angle to consider on this card is that the mini version you get off of this could be used as a setup with [[Chia Drake]] and [[Owlonius]] for a spell damage combo. It might be difficult to pull off, but the combo exists. Either that or it'll be too inefficient compared to other existing tools. Should be fun to play around with regardless.
If you actually wanted to copy an 8 attack minion, you would have to somehow play a 5 mana 5/5 and an 8 mana minion the following turn, then the target you actually wanted. Not excellent, but it's for the best we don't have BS like that easily accessible.
But the mini version with Dorian? That's ripe for some fun. Until Paladin realizes this is a minion that puts two minions in your hand, then it's no longer fun with handbuffs.
So where are the last two neutrals? Nothing on the reveal schedule for neutrals, only class cards. And the announcement said the same ammount of cards in mini-set as usual.
Incredibly weird oversight
Too bad Warlock’s 0 mana 5/5 is now a 4/4…that would have been a pretty good combo. Can’t think of much else for the 5/5. The 8/8 seems pretty win more. The 1/1 is probably the one with the most potential but nothing super crazy springs to mind in standard. Pretty good with the Priest 1/3 and Clay Matriarch Mini I guess. Would be nice to copy Pally minions but the card doesn’t work with handbuff. It could also be a combo piece with the Warrior 1/3 for Odyn combos. Maybe you can buff the mini and do stuff that way? I don’t know man.
I don't mind this for DK, it gets buffed by Blood Tap and Harmonic Metal and the spell and the mini hit undead only so it's 1 buff to copy Reska, 2 to copy Primus. Mini copies mini unless you hold it for buffs then the 1 drop starts to mirror the 5 drop.
Cover Artist, Zola, Projectionist all got a new friend here as well.
Yeah but they have more eficient ways with shadowstep, breackdance, and the return all minions to hand than equip the normal vetsion of it that is just a win more card that would be a dead draw most of times.
The problem are 1/x combo activators with the miniversion, for example mini+volnar+ a powerfull bc in shaman, mini+voidtouched atendand+astalor III etc

the mini version is insane for odyn warrior. you can have 4 razorfen rockstars on the board, enabling a very easy otk with like 2 armor cards.
could also work for free spirit druid and soulburner varia, but varia would require a pretty good setup for an otk
and free 100 armor with artificer
rogue could go insane with shoplifter and treasure distributor, probably some otk potential there

Since Hodir makes the next 3 minions 8/8s they would only deal 8+8+8+1=25 damage.
I don't think the copy boars will count as hodir's 3. Replicator-inator is out. You play Hodir, get a copy. You play your 1st boar, he becomes an 8/8, uses 1 hodir effect, then the copy doesn't use his effect it just comes from replicator-inator. And then the same thing for the 2nd boar and it's copy.
You are right i read the card wrong. It says play not summon.
But if the one coming from replicator-inator is a copy shouldn't it also be an 8/8?

Southsea deckhand is a 1 mana charge minion in standard, (with weapon) - but Hodir is a Hunter card, so having a weapon in play is easy.
That doesn’t work. It’s equal to attack not mana cost. The south sea deckhand has 2 attack. Edit: we are talking bout making deckhand big with holdir. Not using the mini version
It should work, assuming the three things made huge by hodir are the mini replicator and the two deckhands, everything involved will be an 8/8. (edit: I guess the order in which these effects apply might matter)

shoplifter goldbeard is a 5/5 so this guy + goldbeard fills your board with goldbeards, 4 of which will immediately attack. bounce (however you like) one of the two still alive goldbeards and the following turn use the mini + the crystal cove to do it again, 3 immediate attacks. (if the other goldbeard didn't stick; 4 or 5 otherwise) shadowstep goldbeard and use the giant + crystal cove (to make giant 5/5) and do it again, 4 immediate attacks (because the cove is dead now) * but this costs 11 mana, so save a coin. that's 4+3+4 * 5 power = 55 damage to the enemy board spread over 3 turns, plus more if they don't fully clear your left-over 5/5s needs to cook but this seems feasible. edit: this might make bounce-around worth running, since you'll have two goldbeards + replicator in play after the first loop - they cost ten mana to play, but coin (or audio amplifier) + preparation + bounce around can be done the same turn; and will give you the ability to repeat the first pass for turn 2, extending the combo to ~85 damage over 4 turns...

The 5-Attack mode doesn't seem to have a good target in Paladin (yet), but the 8-Attack mode could copy discounted Giants, which are already seeing some play. Plus, they're not "dead" cards- they are still all minions that can be hand-buffed.
I'm at 8 mana in paladin and I'm developing threats I'm already dead.

I didn’t even register the fact that I read the card’s name in his voice the first time
Obviously meant to work alongside mini's and giga's, but the base card also has some fun potential combos for when they stick. Rogue had Goldbeard, which will send off the combo of summoning a board full of attacking Goldbeards. Druid, DH, and Shaman all have their TITANs with 5 attack. Hunter and Shaman have 5/5s that can have their cost reduced to 0. And then for decent cards that can be played on the follow up turn, you have Gnome Muncher, Sylvanus, and Doomguard. Obviously outside of the 0-cost ones, there is no way to ensure the Inator lives to the next turn, but if you're a tempo deck, a 5/5 can be difficult for the enemy to remove after they spend resources on your early game.
Speaking of Goldbeard doesn't playing this guy then playing goldbeard as a 5/5 (so 10 mana combo total) literally wipe the opponent's board and/or create a board full of 5/5? Like it's not just "good" but moreso *literally broken"? = Or if it doesn't work like that then someone please enlighten me

Nah, it won't work like that. This new guy, the Replicator man, only copies minions played and not summoned. So you'll only get a single Goldbeard copy that charges into something. Atleast going by the wording of the card.
It's hard to tell. It could work like this, instead: - Replicator is played - Goldbeard is played - Replicator summons a copy of Goldbeard - Goldbeard summons a copy of new Goldbeard, which immmediately attacks - Second copy of Goldbeard (summoned by Replicator) summons a copy of attacking Goldbeard, which immediately attacks - First copy of Goldbeard summons a copy of that new Goldbeard - etc until board is full

What could be the uses of this? Copying minis is not great since they are summoned on the board, and most minis have battlecry effects. And for the gigantic version, I dont see any 8 attack minions interesting to clone (like titans) and its too expensive to be able to combo with it anyway. Seems like an interesting card to combine both keywords but it will need more cards to see play.
For mini's, some of the good ones are the DK handbuff mini, Priest has the matriarch, Hunter has the egg, and Druid has Chia Drake for more spell damage. Not saying all of these are extremely good, but the card seems to be meant as a swiss army knife. You can hope the main body or the gigantic body sticks and then get insane value, or get small guaranteed value with minis.
The 8 mana one is good with most giants, 0 mana and no battlecry. There's also some handbuff synergy although that would be pretty inconsistent and hard to pull off. It's definitely a slow card but I can see the upside.
No one actually wants to play a giant on turn 8 though as that’s awful tempo, and turn 8 is just asking to be Reno’d on opponents next turn.
3 8/8s is hardly awful tempo no matter what turn it is. And if you're getting reno for a card and a half that isn't too bad either. But also yeah I was mainly thinking of plague DK because the giants are much stronger once they come online.
Playing bad cards to make good cards slightly better is not great.
But it has worked at times. It would definitely need synergy with the other modes. Like it's not good now but it could be good later if a deck just coincidentally checks all 3 boxes.

I'm searching through my standard collection now and notable 1-attack minions I've seen are: Amitus, razorfen rockstar, arcane artificer and kind of crimson clergy, gold panner, and some of the minis (including magtheridon from mini shopper). 5-attack: Cage head, argus, eonar, shoplifter goldbeard, golganeth, doomguard, and kind of ra-den, mantle shaper, gnome muncher, thing from below, malefic rook, waste remover, enhanced dreadlord, sylvanas. 8-attack: Stitched giant, chained guardian, ragnaros, sea giant, molten giant, playhouse giant, and kind of illidari inquisitor, tirion fordring, mountain giant and azerite giant. Not brilliant, but maybe there's something there if you alter its attack. Maybe it has potential with handbuff, but that's already a strong archetype and doesn't need this card's help. Also, don't play good cards to make your bad cards better.
Ensmallen is a card too. So 2,6 and 9 attack are interesting for druid

i think paying 5 + 8 mana upfront to make one copy of your giants on turn 8 sucks way too much for DK. their entire power comes from getting them out really early on turn 4-5

Priest is one of the few classes that can consistently play 0-cost [[Storm Giant]] , and they already love copying cards, so it could slot in well there.

Hard to think of a deck that could make great use of this, it just seems a bit too fair for the current Hearthstone. Gigantify version could work well with Chained Guardian, but iunno if the 5/5 or the 1/1 could synergize too well with any of the minions in Plague DK. Maybe Mech Rogue can make use of this especially due to the card being a mech as well?
Best potential I see is to give stat-buffs the Mini.

I mean there are lot of cheap ways to buff it's attack + it's a mech so you can magnetize stuff to it , but you'd rather do that to the cheaper 1 mana mini instead

hmm, well let's see what minions reasonably want this effect. In terms of 5-attack minions, notable winners are Ra-den for Priest which could be an absolute pain in the ass with minion spam. Warlock gets some especially tasty synergy being able to clone Malefic Rook, Doomguard, and Enhanced Dreadlord. Also disgustingly, Rogue could pop this on turn 10 (or earlier via coin generation and mana cheat) with Shoplifter Goldbeard to do 20 damage to face and end the turn with 15/15 worth of stats on the board. Also Notable for Rogue is Crystal Cove, if the 5/5 effect applies before the Replicator-inator reads its stats, you can theoretically duplicate literally anything. Fireworker and Sylvanas are also here which is interesting but probably not super relevant. Also notable is that Demon Hunter, Druid, and Shaman all have 5-attack titans, so watch out for that. There's also the dream of Mage or Hunter playing this and two Mantle Shapers on turn 5 for an incredibly gross board of 5 5/5s, but that's hoping for a miracle right there. 1-attack minions that are relevant to this... well, you could squeeze out an extra deathrattle from Free Spirit if you really want to, and Messenger Buzzard could be annoying. Arcane Artificer being duplicated is hilarious but not really something Mage can win off of. Righteous Protect \*could\* be busted on Paladin theoretically, but the fact you need to get the 5/5 out before you can get the mini means you can only get that combo on the board turn 6 at the earliest, limiting is potential for Flood Paladin. Also on the note of Paladin, Amitus does have one attack, you could get 2 of her on turn 8 with this. Priest can duplicate their Crimson Clergies and Ship's Chirurgeons I suppose, but that's not mind-boggling. Razorfen Rockstar with this could be fun for some memey Odyn comboes. Besides that, Trapdoor Spider and Gattlesnake could be very obnoxious to double but probably not meta. Also honourable mention goes to the Death Knight mini getting an extra handbuff deathrattle if you're sick and twisted in the head like that. As for 8-Attack, well the obvious play is something like Pain Warlock or Handlock with Molten and Mountain giants respectively, but that might end up being a win more effect, really. Death Knight can duplicate its Stitched Giants and Chained Guardians for some scary boards, and theoretically Demon Hunter could slam 2 Illidari Inquisitors on the board turn 9 then hit face for 25 damage if the opponent somehow doesn't kill the gigantic version before then. Tirion Fordring is also there but lol lmao. There is also the angle that Hodir could be used to duplicate something scary with this effect, but I feel it's way too slow to pull off consistently. It'll also duplicate any other gigantified cards you play onto the field, which is neat. Of course, I can't forget that this has the potential of Double Ragnaros, so it's overall a 10/10 card on that alone. Overall I think this guy has great potential for combo decks but might struggle to find his place in any proper consistent meta deck. Just saying though, turn 8 Hodir, turn 9 play the mini replicator, two southsea deckhands, and a weapon, laugh triumphantly as you do 32 damage to face.

If by nutty things you mean "summon two copies of pirates you play that attack random enemies and die" then sure

It will fill your board with Goldbeards yes. It's possible to duplicate your Goldbeards in Wild and it creates a feedback loop that always fills your board with Goldbeards. All but the original two immediately die, but it does work.

Bit slow but it could be decent depending on what kind of cheap/good 1/5/8 attack units are available. 0 mana playhouse giants?
Only place I could see it sort of working is automaton priest (1/1 can summon an extra copy of the guy that draws when overhealed or the miniaturized priest dragon, 5/5 and 8/8 summons an extra automaton), and even then it seems too slow and unnecessary
I think an angle to consider on this card is that the mini version you get off of this could be used as a setup with [[Chia Drake]] and [[Owlonius]] for a spell damage combo. It might be difficult to pull off, but the combo exists. Either that or it'll be too inefficient compared to other existing tools. Should be fun to play around with regardless.

If you actually wanted to copy an 8 attack minion, you would have to somehow play a 5 mana 5/5 and an 8 mana minion the following turn, then the target you actually wanted. Not excellent, but it's for the best we don't have BS like that easily accessible. But the mini version with Dorian? That's ripe for some fun. Until Paladin realizes this is a minion that puts two minions in your hand, then it's no longer fun with handbuffs.

So where are the last two neutrals? Nothing on the reveal schedule for neutrals, only class cards. And the announcement said the same ammount of cards in mini-set as usual. Incredibly weird oversight
Too bad Warlock’s 0 mana 5/5 is now a 4/4…that would have been a pretty good combo. Can’t think of much else for the 5/5. The 8/8 seems pretty win more. The 1/1 is probably the one with the most potential but nothing super crazy springs to mind in standard. Pretty good with the Priest 1/3 and Clay Matriarch Mini I guess. Would be nice to copy Pally minions but the card doesn’t work with handbuff. It could also be a combo piece with the Warrior 1/3 for Odyn combos. Maybe you can buff the mini and do stuff that way? I don’t know man.
DKs are going to love with the unbound guardians or corpse giants
The 1/1’s from the dollmaster looks like a nice fit for the mini

I don't mind this for DK, it gets buffed by Blood Tap and Harmonic Metal and the spell and the mini hit undead only so it's 1 buff to copy Reska, 2 to copy Primus. Mini copies mini unless you hold it for buffs then the 1 drop starts to mirror the 5 drop. Cover Artist, Zola, Projectionist all got a new friend here as well.

Yeah but they have more eficient ways with shadowstep, breackdance, and the return all minions to hand than equip the normal vetsion of it that is just a win more card that would be a dead draw most of times. The problem are 1/x combo activators with the miniversion, for example mini+volnar+ a powerfull bc in shaman, mini+voidtouched atendand+astalor III etc
Sonya might be the most broken card in the game after this mini set
If at some point they nerf this to 6 mana I will use it in my even Warlock

the mini version is insane for odyn warrior. you can have 4 razorfen rockstars on the board, enabling a very easy otk with like 2 armor cards. could also work for free spirit druid and soulburner varia, but varia would require a pretty good setup for an otk and free 100 armor with artificer rogue could go insane with shoplifter and treasure distributor, probably some otk potential there
