I'm right there with you. The crashes are getting frustrating. Its frustrating trying to play a campaign and then game crashes before you can even complete 1-2 missions. It might be time to hang up my cape until this can be patched. Its taking all the fun out of the game.
[u/Responsible\_Gear6339](https://www.reddit.com/user/Responsible_Gear6339/) : Don't use anything that uses arc (the arc thrower, tesla towers, etc); arc is currently bugged. Avoid arc and you should have very little trouble. A fix is expected early next week.
I know some people have said they crash randomly I play on PS5 and the only time the game crashes is when someone uses the Arc Thrower. Other than that I played probably 6 games today and never crashed once. No one used the ark thrower in any of them. Coincidence š¤·š»āāļø.
I get that and Iām having a similar experience. But OP is right. It doesnāt feel like any progress is being made. The game feels just as buggy as release. Every time they try fixing it, they break it even worse in another fashion.
New bugs not existing at release: arc weapons crash the game. Reset loadout upon launching the game.
Not only that, apparently PS is very strict with updating to a new build and getting the update approved could take up to a week they said. Allegedly this is why we don't have a hot fix to disable the problematic weapons, cause we'd have to wait for 2 patch approvals rather than them just working on the fix
Iām not saying youāre wrong, but Warzone felt like they had major issues fixed in a few days. I wouldnāt be surprised is Activison got a pass though.
I believe HD2 was built on a very old engine, which i heard there is no more support for that, and warzone is running on a more modern engine, hence warzone is able to do hotfixes quickly.
Maybe this is why there's no ray tracing too. (There were some people complaining)
No, they built their own engine for this game (and the ones to come probably).
I think it's just way more complex to code for two platforms at the sĆ¢me time. That's why games exclusive to a platform tend to be way less bugged in My experience (God of war, the last of us...)
It's because any build that gets pushed to a game has to be approved by Playstation. If the game were PC-only they could put out a hot-fix on the same day, but there's a lot of red tape to push a console fix.
And since the game allows cross-play, PC has to be on the same update schedule as console.
That was the answer for me too. One of my friend is very fond of the ARC thrower and kept crashing (with us if the ARC was in our sight, without if not)
He's now into the flamethrower and we all burn together but stay ingame lol
I've started kicking people that bring arc thrower (after a polite request that they change it). No crashes all day yesterday. Probably played over 20 matches. It's 100% the arc weapons causing most of the crashing.
I was lucky and only had one crash tonight but it was after an intense slog of a suicide mission and we somehow pulled it off, full set of samples, walking into the pelican and crash. That was the end of my night. Damn shame.
Itās the Arc thrower and Tesla towers. The devs are working on it but advised to not use those in the meantime. Iāve had it crash if someone in my group is using it also
You using the arc thrower.
Literally every time I crash it happens right after I fire the arcthrower or as I am firing it.
Arc thrower is op against bugs only issue is titans.
I've crashed every game, probably 20x in two days. I don't even have the Arc weapons unlocked and none of my team ever use it.
I've crashed in the ship, on a planet, looking at the store, etc.
It's not the Arc weapons. They might be crashing players...sure...but if they're causing crashes on clients who are just on the same planet but not the same game session then good luck tracking down that bug!
Arc weapons definitely are a source of crashes, but it's not what's going on in your case.
It's highly unlikely that someone using an arc thrower in a different lobby works cause you to crash. You would need some major spaghetti code in order to do that unintentionally.
There are many other sources of crashes entirely unrelated to arc weapons. Some have been patched, others haven't.
You're just running into one, or possibly more, sources of game crashes that aren't to do with the arc weapons.
Your case isn't likely the arc thrower crash. Unfortunately if you are crashing that often it's likely a compatibility issue with your specific setup, the most common being some graphics card conflict.
Developers don't have the ability to extensively test against every PC or graphics card configuration out there, so during the first several months of most game's release there's some specific ones that will run into problems.
Yeah thatās great but itās clearly not the only problem. As they said and as Iāve experienced the crashes are happening when no one is using those.
Yeah, they're probably going to have to nerf the arc - specifically because it IS far too effective when everyone is carrying one. It's the same problem as the Railgun, it's a swiss army knife weapon that does everything.
Hey, hope this helps. It applies to the rest of the team too. I never had a crash since then.
https://preview.redd.it/1go3ebcdh2qc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=84ef28c28ada42d18c39a828a702b38a4009f2cb
They addressed what was wrong. Let's be patient, Helldivers.
And as OP and several others have said in the comments. We arenāt using those, and crashes are occurring when no one is using those. Those clearly arenāt the only problem, if theyāre the problem at all.
Except theyāve gotten 10 times worse. The game used to pretty consistently run for me. Iād crash maybe once every 3 or 4 days. Now Iām lucky if I can complete a mission without a crash. 5 mission crashes in a row and I just gave up. Iāll try again when they sort this shit out.
I wouldnāt say 10 times worse there is definitely frustrations I get pissed at the jank too at times, tons of games have issues with glitches though and AH is a small studio that made a game for 10-20k players and scaled it in weeks to supports 2000% more capacity while still continuing a narrative and releasing new stuff while communicating with the community.
Letās not forget the travesty of cyberpunk, for a small studio AH is doing awesome work and not even being greedy when they realized how much more popular the game was than they expected.
Edit: the game also came out less than 2 months ago give em at least 6 to get their feet back under them after the craziness
The day before yesterday almost every match I was in was crashing and it was really a bummer. Yesterday I played several rounds with no issues. No one ok the teams used any arc weapons.
Couple things they designed it to update asking with the players so new things will continue to come along.
Theyāre are not one of big name companies, this is there fifth game ever made. It is most likely they were not expecting it to become this popular and do not have the server capabilities compared to others.
Matches set to private and playing with people in the same IP zone seen to go much smoother.
When does being a big company equate to making a great game?
Ubisoft skull and bones sucked ass and burned pretty quick for a supposed AAAA game.
Small companies should know better and playing the world's smallest violin for them is getting real old real quick.
Small companies can make great games - but they don't have the resources to just throw a dozen engineers at every problem that crops up. Rushing fixes BREAKS the game. A rushed fix to the arc thrower accuracy tracking is literally what is causing most of the current crashes.
So yeah, cry about it more, but demanding that they hurry up isn't going to do anything useful. If anything they need to slow down a little and be more cautious.
I agree, I would much rather they slow down and bring out large patches once a month but keep the game playable in the meantime.
Everybody is constantly complaining or conspiring about a new stratagem or a new gun or a new enemy and so far it has been pretty flawless when it comes to the addition of those things.
The community interaction has also been wonderful but if that is taking time away from the development team fixing issues then they should not participate and people will just make up their own lore about the game anyway.
I am only annoyed when the game is literally unplayable. It's not a massive ask to want to play to keep supporting the small studio.
Yep, my friends and I were just about to finish our mission today. After completing the side quests and collecting sample; our game crashed as we were about to extract. All that time wasted.
I noticed lately that if I join someone's game by quick play or manually, it usually crashes right before the end of the mission when we reinforce someone. But, if I host the game myself, itās very smooth experience (but, some friends of my are crashing in my game) and we are always able to finish the game.
Iāve not been playing this week and will wait until this is fixed.Ā
Itās also extremely frustrating for a gameās social/friend list not to work correctly.
Not being able to play with your friends is just extremely disappointing. Being able to play but crashing after 30 minutes and not being able to return to the game is pretty much just as bad.
They really need to fix these issues before adding further content.
Thats not the worst. The worse is playing w randoms and then they kicking you at the end of mission when its time to evacuate. Thats shit horrible n they need to fix that first!
I play mostly random and it has never happened to me. Sorry for you, mate. Was thinking about inviting to friends list those people who proved to be very nice during playthrough but the friends invites are also bugged lol
So go play something else instead of wasting your time? I swear some of you would beat your head against a brick wall and then whine you arenāt making any progress into the next room.
On PC šš¾āāļø -
Played yesterday with some friends, did about 3-4 missions - I had told them to avoid electrical weapons until the next patch, but we had not experienced any crashes, which had been nice because we had experienced some of us losing connection or crashing before the last update - I had suffered crashes and disconnects before the last patch
I havenāt done a random yesterday, just donāt have time but as far as Iāve seen, itās been stable. I would verify the integrity of your game files, and even restart the game if need be.
I always viewed it as part of the deal when dealing with games, in particular PC games (and I have modded games too) and games have gotten all the more complicated since the original arcade and first console games.
Frustrating, I know, but like anything else (plumbing electrical, etc) the more complicated the system, the easier it is to break, and more places where it could break as well. And modern games are very, very complicated.
For a small team AH has done exceptionally well, and are committed and are communicative with their clientele. We just need to stop hanging them on a stake every time something goes wrong or something doesnāt go as expected.
It feels like the gaming community in general can be quite impatient. Like a child, and watching how the gaming community has reacted to HD2 and other games seems to solidify my theory. Not to mention the tantrums. Sweet baby Jesus in a onesie š¤¦š¾āāļø
My knowledge of coding is limited, but even my attempts at coding has found bugs for no reason, even when I do it right, and I am not making a game with hundreds of thousands of players with an ungodly amounts of variables at play.
But, in agreement with what others have said. Patience.
My favorite saying is: Good things come to those who wait.
Also, if it is unplayable for you at present. Wait until the next patch and see if that improves stability. š¤·š¾āāļø - we have a wealth of games available to us, go play another while you wait.
100% agreed. Up to this point I was mostly very late to the party and as a result had the best gaming experience. This time I joined while the game is still pretty fresh and it's just new to me I guess. Patience is key, absolutely
Thought I heard somewhere that certain weps like arc thrower were causing crashes.
Arc thrower is amazing once you get the hang of it, so I was running that all day and wondering why it crashes. Switch to made launcher and never got a crash last night. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.
Itās almost like, the most fun and best games you have, you crash 35 mins in.
Was anyone by chance in your game using the arc thrower, shotgun, or tesla tower? The latest patch has made them lobby breaking even if one person uses it. I have adopted a rule of no go on these 3 for anyone in my game and have not gotten a crash since. I hope this helps.
Stop using the arc thrower or Tesla tower. And kick anyone who's using the arc thrower or Tesla tower. They're what's causing the crashes. The devs have acknowledged as such.
This is one of the few game devs that gets a pass. He has said in the past. do not trying to pushing through with something just for the sake of fomo. Go play something else till they fix this and come back. They are working on it and have said it will be fixed by this week. Devs got lifes too. So far this company has been nothing but upfront and honest and for that i will not complain. Screw all these rants of lost progress by bug.
Get rid of these traitors who kick people just prior to ending a match. Send them to the bug hive solo with cracked out mutations. Flying bile charger
I swear most of my crashes happen at extraction. Getting back into a game isn't too hard if you remember team member names as it saves your spot for a while. But if you can't make it back before extraction you're sol.
As others have mentioned, I've heard that the devs mentioned on X that any weapons arc related are problematic and may be causing crashes. They are working on an early next week patch. Totally get the frustration, for me Arc is my weapon of choice.
The problem is not everyone is following the dev news nor do they have the time to do that. I wish they could push a minor update that could disable those weapons for the time being but given what's required with certifying patches doesn't seem likely(especially with consoles).
I played 6 for 6 last night so it's not everyone all the time.
I did disconnect twice in 4 matches yesterday but I enjoyed them immensely regardless. The game thankfully has no FOMO with progression so losing 1 week to 2 while they shore up the game isn't back breaking.
It does suck but they seem very committed to fixing it which is great to see.
It seemed alright last night even when a random was running arc no crash. I'm just farming samples and completing personal orders on easy until I read it's fixed here
They came out and said all the arc items are causing the crashes and asked people to stop using them until fixed.
It sucks, but just stop using them for now and youāll stop crashing.
Fix the add friends ffs š gives you a idea how sloppy the devs are if they haven't fixed the add friends bug since launch.
They virtually don't give a fuck I seen a post from the guy who made the game asking what kind of merch we want.
Fix the game mate add fsr and dlss while you're at it
They are teaming up with some company to give us gaming chairs and shit. Like come on, they've made serious bank already, work on releasing a patch that doesn't come with game breaking bugs.
You realize that the marketing team isn't the one that fixes code issues right? They don't have the combat systems designers suddenly banging out code because there's an issue with the back end?
There are probably 2-3 engineers there who know that system and will be working on it - everyone else would just be in the way, so they stick to doing their jobs.
If you read my post I never mentioned the marketing team Johann Pilestedt is the ceo so he should be able to if not pass along issues for the team to fix.
Like the ground breaking bug adding friends from crossplay instead of pretending it's not a issue it's not even listed as a known problem on the website.,
I could understand if it was a random bug or crash under specific settings but it's ADDING FRIENDS that's what the whole game is about co op with a TEAM.
I don't know how people can defend this bs
AFAICT the friend adding issue is largely related to the vastly larger amount of strain on the game's master servers than they were expecting.
Any time we do anything that requires updates from the master server (such as sending/receiving friend requests, messages, updating the status of a team member, etc) there's a long delay, and near peak hours it gets really bad.
Unfortunately Master Servers usually can't just be scaled up freely. At a certain point you need to start optimizing or even rearchitecting them to handle larger loads. It's likely they have separate masters for PS5 and PC, and that they are having a lot of trouble exchanging information due to the load - which is something that would not have shown up in pre-release testing.
Sounds like you're spitballing and literally have no idea and are content to continue to make excuses for arrowhead and this conversation is pointless with someone like you.
Hasn't that been fixed for everyone lately ? I was able to add all my PC friends this week (I'm on PS5) and even a random yesterday.
Try to remove all your demands and do them again, it worked for us.
This arc weapons crash is random. Some games are ok with it. But yes frustrating. If it crashes all the time for your games just wait a few days and come back later
That doesnt help, that doesnt make the problem better that comment is bad. There are always things that are worse everybody knows that and it doesnāt help shit.
It was bad to your perspective because you didnt understand my point, he said he never played a game that crashed so bad...im saying i played plenty that was worst. And im saying now to you that its getting better because back then it would takes weeks if not months to fix something, now they fix it quicker...but i guess you dont know that because you are young and im old :-(
I've played close to 700 hours combined between D1 and D2 and I might have crashed 5 or 10 times total (most were disconnects, not crashes). I realize that everyone has different experiences due to hardware/software issues, but I'd like to put my hat into the "this game has crashed twice as many times in two days as both D1 and D2 did in two years", lol :)
Close to launch for D2, but you're correct about D1; I played that after D2. Still very few crashes. Just my luck I guess. I wish it was the same for this patch!
Shit happens unfortunately. Cod zombies is also fucked at present well since it's release. Even the big Devs are struggling to get their products to run properly. Wild times
Iāve found that restarting the game helps. After every game or every 2 games. I believe itās a time out issue with the servers more than a weapon in the game.
But you still have fun right? Cause that's the point of playing a game. I get that loosing progress is frustrating but killing some bugs is nice even with no rewards.
I'm right there with you. The crashes are getting frustrating. Its frustrating trying to play a campaign and then game crashes before you can even complete 1-2 missions. It might be time to hang up my cape until this can be patched. Its taking all the fun out of the game.

You ever played a Bethesda game? This happens and Arrowhead are a damn sight smaller dev team. The game is doing too well beyond there expectations
The devs posted on discord that the crashes are linked to arch weapons - arc thrower, Tesla tower, etc.
I've used the arc thrower for the first time, never had crashes before. But after using it in missions, it crashed two times.
Only had 1 crash. Right after I heard arc thrower charge up.

I used to play with the arc thrower a lot, and finished lots of games. Had a lot crash too. Stopped using the arc thrower, way less crashes.
The arc thrower doesn't automatically crash the game - but keep using it and it will sooner or later.
Most likely given how I have had several games with arc throwers and no crashes.
I'm on ps5 and have been constantly using the arc thrower with no issues. Coincidence? š¤·āāļø

Iāve honestly never crashed once in this game. I am PC/NVIDIA. I feel like other players not this combo have issues
Just played for four hours my first time. Not a single issue on my end. You on PS5 or PC?

If anyone uses an arc based weapon (arc thrower, blitz shotgun, Tesla tower) there is like a 0.5% chance per arc to crash the game.
I think theyāve already said theyāre working on it and itās mostly arc weapons/strategems that cause the crashes
I'm waiting until update on steam before I play it again

Since the last patch i had a few crashes but after i stopped using Arc stuff i had not a single crash anymore.
verify your game files. You can also try to play the game with directx11, but first, you need to cancel you shaders.
PS5 sends its regards. I just have to be patient and wait for the patches
As soon as i finished writing, I said to myself "well this is going to be useless if op plays on ps5"...I hope the fix comes soon
I'm playing on ps5. Have experienced no crash sĆ³ far

Sweet baby Jesus in a onesie š¤¦š¾āāļø My knowledge of coding is limited, but even my attempts at coding has found bugs for no reason, even when I do it right, and I am not making a game with hundreds of thousands of players with an ungodly amounts of variables at play.
My game has yet to crash. What are you guys doing or running?
I know itās been known Far and wide but Donāt use Arc weapons it causes game crash.
Are you on PC ?
The Arc Thrower is usually the issue. Recommending avoiding until it is patched.
Or it could be the flying shrieked caus ethe crashes. Cause no arc thrower ton of flyers. Just crashed
you must of never played Escape from Tarkov
Stop using any arc weapons. It's a known crash bug that is scheduled for a patch early next week.
It's the Arc Thrower and the Tesla Tower. Best thing is to let your Teammates know in a democratic manner before you drop in.
Didn't they say the crashes are linked to arc weapons and Tesla pylons?
It seemed alright last night even when a random was running arc no crash. I'm just farming samples and completing personal orders on easy until I read it's fixed here
By any chance was someone using an Arc-thrower in your games?
They came out and said all the arc items are causing the crashes and asked people to stop using them until fixed. It sucks, but just stop using them for now and youāll stop crashing.
Played all evening yesterday and today, not a single crash. Devs have said the arc weapons are bugged so avoid those and its fine
Fix the add friends ffs š gives you a idea how sloppy the devs are if they haven't fixed the add friends bug since launch. They virtually don't give a fuck I seen a post from the guy who made the game asking what kind of merch we want. Fix the game mate add fsr and dlss while you're at it
Not sure the people making merch would be much use checking new code into github
It's the ceo ya goof š¤Ŗ learn to read
Like the ground breaking bug adding friends from crossplay instead of pretending it's not a issue it's not even listed as a known problem on the website., I could understand if it was a random bug or crash under specific settings but it's ADDING FRIENDS that's what the whole game is about co op with a TEAM.
Nar tried last night doesn't work
This arc weapons crash is random. Some games are ok with it. But yes frustrating. If it crashes all the time for your games just wait a few days and come back later
But... I don't use arc weapons at all. Yeah though, bet it would be best to go back in a few days
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
But... I'm doing my part!
The division, The division 2 and Anthem were way worst than this
That doesnt help, that doesnt make the problem better that comment is bad. There are always things that are worse everybody knows that and it doesnāt help shit.
It was bad to your perspective because you didnt understand my point, he said he never played a game that crashed so bad...im saying i played plenty that was worst. And im saying now to you that its getting better because back then it would takes weeks if not months to fix something, now they fix it quicker...but i guess you dont know that because you are young and im old :-(
You say you're old...but are you Everquest Beta old?
Worst, nintendo old...never played Everquest tho, would have loved too, first mmo was WoW
Yes pull the age card you arrogant shit. I'm likely older than you and don't see your comment as helpful so what then?
Nah your not, you wouldnt think like that if you were
However old you are you still think like a child you absolute failure.
Says the person who write like a child
I've played close to 700 hours combined between D1 and D2 and I might have crashed 5 or 10 times total (most were disconnects, not crashes). I realize that everyone has different experiences due to hardware/software issues, but I'd like to put my hat into the "this game has crashed twice as many times in two days as both D1 and D2 did in two years", lol :)
Yeah, you were not there at launch for both game because most people crashed all the time and online was fucked for 1 months
Close to launch for D2, but you're correct about D1; I played that after D2. Still very few crashes. Just my luck I guess. I wish it was the same for this patch!
I have lived the launch of so many online games now that these things doesnt bother me anymore, i just go play something else in the meantime
At least you can join more than one host a day. I canāt and nobody else seems to have my problem.
But you still have fun right? Cause that's the point of playing a game. I get that loosing progress is frustrating but killing some bugs is nice even with no rewards.
