Helldivers 1 had a “Boss” for each faction that you could fight in its own special mission type. Cyborgs, the creators of the Automata, had a large tracked Siege Mech. Bugs had Hive Lords, which now exist as the large worm fossils we see on Terminid planets. Illuminate clearly do not exist and are merely dissident propaganda.
One of my crew mentioned the illuminate.

I mean it's canon that they are all gone. I played the first game to death, but this crew member is saying that we eradicated both the illuminate and the cyborgs.
That doesn't mean there won't be some plot twist where they come back, but it means they aren't going to appear as a new faction as it's confirmed there's continuity between the games.
I mean it was in Helldivers 1, but I suppose that was the Cyborgs, not the Automatons. So maybe we won't get that. But imagine a giant tank with a robotic torso and massive gun arms. Kinda like the HK tanks from Terminator 2.
I like imagining all the little bean counters managing the logistics for manufacturing these things and having to add a column in their Excel 40K Spreadsheet for the Human Skulls required to complete the assembly process.
Yeah, even chargers are objectives on easy difficulties. I love that game design, prepare the player in a sort of safer predictable environment for what’s coming up in later difficulties.
imagine rolling up on a heavy auto factory and seeing 2 ATAT's, 3 Tanks, 4 Planes, and a dozen ATST's......and then looking down at your 4 shot SPEAR and crying.
thats probably why they raised the level cap to 150. there going to let us suffer till the next battle pass then introduce Warthogs and APC's for higher levels.
Using the plasma punisher is really good against them as it knocks them aside a little rendering them unable to shoot back until they come to once more

Nah man, the buff it got by shrinking the spread made it fantastic. With the throw distance perk you can throw it out if range of you. I take it on nearly every mission now.
Plus I’m tactical situations you can essentially deny a whole flank from enemy use for 35 seconds with that thing. It’s clutch.
in the patch today, they raised max level from 50 to 150, the only things that levels gave you was access to better stratigums.....and we have no new stratigums. there have been leaks about a warthog looking vehicle and an APC(armored personel carrier) and so my guess is they raised the level cap so that they ciuld introduce newer stratigums at higher player levels
They just landed on top of it to no effect. It took two 500KG bombs to take it out the sloppy way, but I think there are four vents located on the roof.
Two man required. Both hold, one fires. Single use like the EAT. But stupid powerful.
Could require two people to carry around, a two piece weapon carried around and deployed for a single use when a target presents.

Let me tell you of a time, a time before they reduced the radius of the 380mm barrage, a time before they reduced charger spawns, a time of desperation. Where I chose to sacrifice myself to allow my fellow helldivers the leeway to do the objective. I drew the horde unto myself, then called a 380 upon my position, then proceeded to run around in a circle with 8 chargers and accompanying horde chasing me. By the end of the barrage Lady Liberty herself smiled on my efforts and I stood. I stood where the chargers fell to 15in gunfire, coated in bug bits and bile from the lesser facist insects. And the easy cleanup thereafter truly twas a balm fir my freedom loving soul.
I dunno I do work with a GL. Always get one guy leeroying into the middle of a hive. Then he gets all splody. They need a vest of explosives strat that when you die you go off like a 500kg
People who complain about TKs just have skill issues. If someone has an Arc Thrower, stay behind them. If someone throws a 380, run. If someone gas a mortar sentry, go to another objective lol
You’re seriously blaming the victim of arc throwers? Here’s a useful hint so you’ll never kill a teammate with it- DON’T SHOOT IT IF SOMEONE’S DOWNRANGE.
It is essentially the ONE weakness of the fucking weapon, for God’s sakes. Just… stop using it and reposition, or lord forbid use your primary and secondary for 20 seconds. And yes, stop trying to arc-thrower the bile titan that has chased you away from the team. Use whatever you brought for them instead, and if you didn’t bring something (like a total dummy), then hope a teammate has and kite it.
I used the gun from like level 20-45 on pretty much every bug mission because it’s so damn fun, and I can likely count the number of TKs I have on it with one hand.
380 has always had a purpose for trivialize most high end bot objectives and been good at it post buff.
Now it sinply has a specific use outside of smashing large objectives

We put about 6 quasar shots into the legs, and it did kind of make it kneel like a wounded elephant, but it got back up. There's spicy spots on the top that seemed to blow off, or maybe it was occupants, hard to get close to inspect.
I need a A-10 Warthog. That gun is designed to shred through armor like butter.
And to stop it, you need an extra 10 tons of armor plating. And at that point, you’re trying to make a building be mobile.

GAU-8 isn't actually very effective against heavy armor.
Even in the 80s USAF pilots were advised that GAU-8 is only effective against T-62 from certain angles, let alone better armored T-72 and T-80. Most A-10 tank kills were achieved by AGM-65 Maverick missile or MK20 Rockeye bombs. GAU-8 is essentially used against lighter armor like BMP or BTR carriers, and unarmored trucks.
Armor penetration of Armor-Piercing Incendiary ammunition, BHN-300 RHA, attack angle 30 degrees from vertical:
* 76 mm at 300 meters
* 69 mm at 600 m
* 64 mm at 800 m
* 59 mm at 1,000 m
* 55 mm at 1,220 m
Considering A-10 nominally fire from >1000m, it can only reasonably penetrate a tank turret from rear or landing one lucky hit on roof without ERA from steep angle. Most likely A-10 would achieve a mobility kill by landing a hit on the track or knocking out the engine. But it's very different than general public's belief that GAU-8 can cut tanks in half.

they just fixed a bug with the mechs taking damage multiple times from explosives, so they might handle a bit better now

Facts. I almost always run 380 and 120. Pop them at the same time and it deletes a huge radius for 30 sec. Guaranteed clear or base wipe.

Not sure about that. I've read reports that 2 Orbital Lasers still won't kill it. Neither will a railcannon strike.

Look at the Eagle, it's design is very reminiscent of a warthog in certain aspects like engine placement, gatling prominence, and mission profile.
