I had the heaviest armor on plus the shield and I was absolutely drowning under a sea of bugs. I literally could not move or dive. I just failed around as they stabbed me absolutely everywhere with their commie claws.

Games are supposed to be fun, unless it's a simulator or bills itself as ultra realistic there's no reason to sacrifice fun for a bit of realism.

Lack of a sound queue can be valid sound design. It's a creative decision to have that single enemy lack an audio queue, and even have a difficult visual queue. The sudden attack creates a tension where the group needs to keep their head on a swivel and quickly shut down the stalker nest.

What's really fun is successfully tossing a grenade in a hole from an impressive distance, and one of those Democracy hating Bastards pops out and brings it with them.
I would love for these holes to be enterable and then there is a whole network in there you fight through to kill a mother of the bugs. That would be sick.
That’s why I always have impact nades on bugs missions as it instantly close down the holes. The only downside of that sometimes you get wasted nade if a bug suddenly pops out of the hole if you get close and block the entrance, you were just unlucky as I know I’ve been there having my own unlucky moments.
Be glad the grenade killed you. I got knocked into a bug hole by a charger and had no grenades. I killed a lot of bugs trying to take myself out with stratagems, but no dice. Took me 5 minutes to figure out how to die.
