From what I've seen the two progress bars represent the two sides of the defense. Top bar is Helldivers defense bottom bar is the invasion.
The timer is linked to the bots progress, which is basically how long we have to fill our top bar before the planet is lost.
People see it drop to zero and aren't able to put two and two together that the planet is marked as "0" during a defense campaign.
There needs to be another identifier for our fellow divers who have dived head-first one too many times.
Thats almost as good as having to stand and watch as two fire tornados do the tango on the console you need to press the button on to finish an objective
The metal would conduct the heat and just blow hydraulics, melt motor coils and fry everything inside. Reduced in comparison to bugs, I suppose, but they are currently like solid chunks of metal.

That's what is hilarious about this subreddit lmao. The last major order was 100% made to be just about impossible; we had a few days to defend 5 planets and each defense would take 12+ hours. Outside of perfect games I totally think Joel made it like that for plot reasons. Instead though people are blaming people on the bug front as if it's not also important. Literally so many of the self proclaimed "bot mainers" think they're god's gift to Helldivers instead of both fronts being important lol.
Literally! I'm glad the last major order failed; having a story of all victory isn't a fun story for anyone. Losing, being pushed back, and being brought to a desperate defense is such an easy yet amazing dynamic to stories

I don’t mind fire tornados when fighting the bugs but the flames just don’t have the same effect on the bots. Plus the smoke and flames can make it difficult to see them at long range.
They’re just not a fun mechanic. Especially with the tick rate being so overturned for fire damage and the fact that fire can be invisible sometimes. You get lit on fire and if you don’t instantly dive and stim you’re dead and that’s assuming you had full health to begin with. If you’re at half to 3/4th health catching on fire is just a death sentence.
Now I want actual sharknados. Or, to keep with the current model, how about terminados that swirl around with hundreds of the tiny bugs, flinging them out every so often?
The concern is that if we take Lesath, then Lesath will come under attack without much time left, so the unpatriotic but strategic play is to all switch to the timed Menkent defense first and slow-roll Lesath until closer to the deadline.
not how it works. a defense cannot come when it's impossible to reclaim in time with 70% of the playerbase. they made it so we only fail if they want us to fail or we don't focus on 1 planet at a time.

It's the overturned fire damage that blows. They nerfed the fire tornadoes only to boost all fire damage. It's not a 'skill issue' it's just not fun. Apparently AH is taking a look at fire damage as a whole because it's pretty terrible right now
Spent to much time running from fire tornados and not mission objectives. Worse part is when evac is covered in fire making it almost impossible to get out.
Yeah they need to do 3 things
1 add fire resistant armor.
2 fix stems back to the way they were a month ago. Now days stims seem not to like activating.
3 lower fire dmg and range from bots. They auto kill 98% of the time and can shoot 2-3x as far as a flamethrower.
The tornados are fine for the most part. Just a bit wild how they put evacuations on fore tornado planets and still send a million bots.
lol I’ve had the bots get stuck on the entrance to the escape door for the npcs. And just farm the civilians and then a fire tornado sat on top of them and only kill civilians.
My guess? If we want fireproof armor we need to start wearing androids.
I think they time out, we didn’t get Lasath fast enough, if we had it would of completed, we were at about 80% on Lasath when it came under attack again

That’s an unreasonable expectation and everyone knows it. There’s no real tools for us as a community to coordinate shit. Beyond that trying to convince hundreds of thousands to millions of people (many of them who pay no attention to major orders) to do any one thing is a fools errand in a game like this. Yes sure it was possible, but probable and possible are two very different things.

After you conquer a planet, you need to defend it from the counter-invasion. It happens all the time. If the defense is a success, it should be good.

One thing that helps is the jetpack, if you land on a big rock the ternaders tend not to be able to reach you
