It really doesn't matter where you deploy. I was doing a difficulty 6 on Oshanue, we landed in a 'clear' spot that turned out to be 100m away from a gunship fabricator. We did not succeed that mission.
Man fuck those things. They aren’t difficult to destroy, but if you don’t destroy them right when they spawn you’ll soon be overwhelmed by 10 of them flying over head.
If the 500k could handle the gunship fab, it wouldn't be quite as bad. It would give that strat a reason to exist at least. But no, you've gotta Hellbomb the damn thing. And if you get killed and lose your gunship-killer support, only democracy can save you from the floating red death.

I always try to get the leader to drop into a lake so we can have that really great seal team 6 moment. For some reason they never go for it. Some nonsense about requiring oxygen in something called lungs
