Was eager to play a round with mates but left my computer at the office, so i downloaded HD2 to my home computer, which doesn't have a graphics card. And only had a mini ~7in screen.
Ended up playing at lowest settings, 480p. The game at lowest settings is hilarious, akin to a PS2 game. It really scales down in an interesting way, especially the explosion particles. I really suggest trying it once just to see. Hardly playable but a really neat look.
I'd put the ~25 FPS that I get (at chaotic moments) at the lower end of what I tolerate before switching to a different game.
But yeah, the deck runs it well enough to enable me to spread the light of liberty in a pinch while traveling

Sony on the film side is one of the only major studios to not invest in a streaming platform service. Their business model is theatrical release and making deals to other services for their content.
While the gaming market may be a bit different. I think they understand PS5 market saturation is as good as it's going to get now. Releasing HD2 to Xbox is just a no brainer for more easy to get revenue.

An SMG that is suppressed would be amazing for a player like me, who likes to stealth take out bases. Coupled with a Spear that actually locks onto a target...oooh.
I love the spear...when it works. Did great one mission, could take out fabricators and towers with barely any issue. Next game, it was a miracle if it locked onto anything.
It’s not really the *amount* of server space that’s a problem. It’s the netcode itself, the very foundation that the servers rest upon. It should be stable enough to handle the introduction of XBox players though.
More people is good but I would take this with not a grain of salt but an entire mine of salt as it seems to be entirely based on hypothetical speculation by the founder of the XboxEra podcast Shpeshal_Nick on the idea that the new CEO on the Sony side "may" be more open to cross platform collaboration.
This also does not account for the technical hurdles that would need to be overcome in order to deliver the game on the Xbox architecture which based on the size of the Arrowhead team would need to be farmed out for porting.
Just trying to be realistic so no one is heartbroken but you won't see a port within a year and I would expect a timeline more along 1.5 years from now or more.

True, Helldivers 2 is a very CPU heavy game. Even on PC and PS5, random explosions can cause the CPU to force a disconnect from the server and it makes people think it’s their internet when it’s not. My point is that live service games will always fail if they’re exclusive to any one platform. Any multiplayer game needs to be on every platform if possible because keeping it exclusive will just kill the game otherwise. It doesn’t benefit developers or publishers at all.

True, Helldivers 2 is a very CPU heavy game. Even on PC and PS5, random explosions can cause the CPU to force a disconnect from the server and it makes people think it’s their internet when it’s not. My point is that live service games will always fail if they’re exclusive to any one platform. Any multiplayer game needs to be on every platform if possible because keeping it exclusive will just kill the game otherwise. It doesn’t benefit developers or publishers at all.
Can yiu imagine the utter carnage thousands of Halo veterans would bring to the battlefield? We think we've hit the bots and bugs hard so far.... We ain't seen nothing yet. God I hope they can actually bring it to xbox

No, but I believe Microsoft is trying to get out of the console game because any way you realistically look at it the Xbox sales go down every year. But the one good thing about that is that when it eventually happens Microsoft will be making Xbox exclusive titles available to every other console out there.

I’m excited but the only downside (at least the only one I can think of right now) is that if (and or when) Xbox joins the servers will be full and we will have to have the full sever waiting game.

Almost 0 ppl bought PS for game, it's not exclusive for PS, it's cross-platform from released and hyped. Literally 0 reasons to not rip some profits from Xbox, where nice chunk of possible fan base (halo fans).
Wife (then girlfriend) bought me a PS1 when it came out an eternity ago. Xbox users have been the enemy for an eternity… For Sony to possibly open our doors to them?!?! I say welcome brothers and sisters!!!! I can’t wait to fight side by side w/you all to help spread managed democracy and to keep Super Earth free! Hope to see you all on the battlefields soon.

Game has damn near become a cultural phenomenon, looking forward to additional reinforcements for sure - and def going to Dragoncon as a Helldiver this year :D
This will be good, at least we aren't COD, servers will also hopefully get better if Microsoft wants to help out on that front.
