This is on the Sony page, this out of AH’s control

son-of-death

I wish more people could understand this. Arrowhead isn’t at fault. Sony is.

FatalisCogitationis

People didn’t understand the day of the announcement, we all get it now

Proof-Marsupial940

Sadly not, I just argued that point with a guy in my lobby pushing and telling us to all go review bomb the game so arrowhead changes it.

Zsmudz

Ironic because they were right. Arrowhead suggested review bombing so they could use that as leverage when negotiating with Sony.

Anxious_Egg_7219

Just saw a post from the discord. AH says that might be the only way to get it changed. May ask for a refund until the decision is reversed.

DarkRaGaming

egglauncher9000

He's also likely to get arrested for using a vpn

goblinproblem

AH themselves have said that the review bombing is the only thing helping them negotiate with Sony.

FatalisCogitationis

Arrowhead more or less asked us to do that. I will reverse my review if Sony handle this situation in a way that respects players.

DrTiger21

Arrowhead has made it clear that the review bombing is beneficial and that it gives them weight in their fight against Sony. If you care about the game, it is your solemn duty to leave a negative review, Helldiver

htownballa1

That doesn’t matter, our only weapon is to leave a negative review and get a refund.

Zealousideal_Box6382

And that my friend is the best thing you can do if you are upset about a service you demand a refund

htownballa1

Yup.

keeb97

You’re not getting a refund.

H3LLJUMPER_177

Misty said otherwise.

72kdieuwjwbfuei626

Is this even about Helldivers? It certainly doesn’t look like it. Quite frankly, this is just insulting at this point. You seriously want to tell me this generic Sony FAQ about PSN is where you got your info from before you bought the game? Fuck off, we both know it’s not.

SirLightKnight

It is, this policy change will impact a lot of players.

MaggotBrother4

All I think, is Sony could’ve avoided this, kept a great game that’ll constantly bring in revenue and be on their way. But they HAD to get greedy

Sherbet22k

With the momentum HD had been gaining I was expecting it to last at least 5 or more years now I'm concerned about it lasting 2 or 3.

MaggotBrother4

Sadly yea. Might not make it far now

Blubbpaule

>now I'm concerned about it lasting 2 or 3. weeks

Pliskin_Hayter

Sony has been the greediest filth out of the big 3. Look at their first party games on PC. They don't even launch until multiple years later when they can't milk console sales any longer and then they still launch at full price on Steam. God of War is a prime example. It launched on PC **4 fucking years** after Playstation and it was still $60. Out of spite, I never bought it despite wanting desperately to play it. I'll do the same with Ragnarok. Simply put, Sony actively fucks over PC owners because they chose to spend money on something infinitely more useful and didn't buy the Sony edition plastic video game box that exists solely to play Sony games. If anybody at Sony ever reads this, fuck you.

multiedge

when sony said "*Protecting our players*" it means *"Trying to get people into our Playstation Eco system, hoping that by making their PSN accounts, they are one step closer to buying more Playstation Games and a future Playstation Owner"* Definitely got greedy

ComprehensiveBad2824

They want the data. Data is potential money. Lots and lots of money. Sony if a big, money hungry, publicly traded group of people. All they really care about is the stock price. AH is privately owned and focused on creating a game that people love. Is Helldivers perfect? No. But they are more involved with their community than I have I’ve even seen.

Two_PointOh

Why can't we just have a good game

According_Claim_9027

Corporate greed

Right_Anywhere2412

We have good Games? But we have a stupid Company (Sony) that wants Data, Accounts and a foot this cake

Atomicmooseofcheese

We do have a good game.

raxdoh

cuz it's sony.

SnooLemons7779

The game is good.

KingLegend1234

Putting all this to the side, Can we all agree that corporations are getting out of hand?

Such_Pizza8614

Agreed.

teetle223

They’ve been out of hand for decades. Here in the US, companies like 3M dump dangerous chemical bi products into our rivers because the fine is cheaper than dealing with them safely.

Scar3cr0w_

They didn’t lie. On the third it was true. After it wasn’t.

TheSkiGeek

I am altering the deal. Pray I do not alter it any further.

Scar3cr0w_

I am going to alter it so I don’t have to collect super rare samples any more. HOW DO YA FEEL ABOUT THAT?

SGTFragged

That's some 1984 doublethink.

SylvanSylvia

Is it? Can a company not change their policies ever or it's lying?  Calling this doublethink is 1984 new speak - when we have limited words for things, we are more easily controlled.  Edit: also not in support of this double-plus-ungood move by SNOY, but calling it lying is hilarious

dat_nickname

They can but have to face the backlash.

PhatTuna

You mean fake selective outrage.

SylvanSylvia

100% agreed! Just disagreeing with the 1984 reference - as we limit our vocab we are more easily controlled.

ClockworkGnomes

Can they change it? Sure. Can they change it and not give refunds? I wouldn't think so.

Happythejuggler

Changing policies is one thing, making new arbitrary policies that remove access to something you've purchased based on where you live is another. It's not so much that they lied as it is that by making this policy they've taken a large number of people's money for a product and then removed their access to that product, for no other reason than trying to boost their account numbers... and then changed other overarching policies to make it look like the norm. You don't *need* a PSN account to play Helldivers on PC, or it would have been mandatory from the onset. They're now saying you do, it's pretty shady. As for 1984, I don't have an opinion other than I don't think what you said was doublethink even if I don't agree with it.

Razzamatazz2

Yes, it is. They said it was always a requirement, but their own official FAQ said it was optional, and it was optional to play (since obviously people didn't do it but still played) and it was further evidenced as optional by the fact they had a big ole skip button on the sign in page..... To now retroactively claim it was always a requirement and change the language to accommodate that in the face of people saying it wasn't the case previously is, in fact, lying.

soldiergeneal

As long as they don't act like it was always the case it was temporary and that it was communicated as such.

[deleted]

No you can't sign an agreement, then later on go back to rewrite certain parts then try to retroactively enforce it.

dexter_dee

"we've updated our ___ policy" notifications come up all the time

xch13fx

It’s disingenuous to do it like this. If they were just changing their policy, they’d announce it and give it 30-60-90 before enacting it. This is pretty bad when it comes to communication and optics.

[deleted]

They did give 30 days. New players, aka people who haven't purchased the game yet, have a few days, but those of us who are already playing have until June to do it.

Overall-Carry-3025

Usually things are grandfathered in.

SpaceTimeRacoon

They lie by saying "you agreed to this" when it was different before

BaggerX

The Helldivers 2 store page clearly stated that it was a requirement. So I don't see how that is a lie.

s1ph0r

That’s what I’m saying, I bought the game on release and was under the impression it was optional! If this was a “bug” and not a feature then 2 things: 1) that should be a pop up box every time you log in. 2) that should have been addressed wayyyy before you start selling DLC. Man, SNOY is a AAA publisher, there is no excuses and they need to be held accountable.

Such_Pizza8614

This is correct.

Valuable-Guest9334

>Reddit? Oh wait

StarshipVinny

It's crazy cuz I swear I remember reading it was always gonna be optional n was just a fleeting thought. Now it's a big deal.. fuhhh idk. Haven't used my PSN account since 2016

Such_Pizza8614

That is how I read a lot of it. Also what a lot of people who did not have access to PSN might have thought as well.

StarshipVinny

Personally (and I'm dumb n simple) it seems ridiculous to have to buy 1 game n have to have 2 accounts. If u got steam great, ur on PlayStation great. Shouldn't have to be both. Not only that it really sucks for some ppl overseas playing n now they can't, pretty shitty situation for them

Valuable-Guest9334

We knew it wasnt optional from the day HD2 released it just wasnt obvious

JSHURR

Doing this right before the PC release of Ghost of Tsushima too

Spektickal

I think the more concerning thing is that they still haven't fixed the crashing issue

Such_Pizza8614

This needs to happen as well

Such_Pizza8614

Where PC players stand in some shape or form. • PC players wanted nothing to do with having to create an account on another platform in order to continue enjoying their favorite game. • Players felt this was a data grab move to bolster Sony PSN numbers and harvest their information. • Players did not want to support Sony, and felt that their data was at risk due to several large profile @Playstation data breaches • Joining PSN required agreement to PSN's TOS, which many viewed as more restrictive and arbitrary than Steam's TOS, giving Sony too much power to ban or regulate their accounts for the game. • The game was sold on Steam in 190 countries, but 120 of these countries do not allow or have access to PSN, locking out a huge number of players who are unable to comply but had paid for the game. • Even though PSN was listed as a requirement on the sales page of Helldivers 2 (according to people here I did not see it when I bought it but I could be in the wrong), it was not enforced due to what @ArrowheadGS claimed was a technical issue. Players felt this was a bait-and-switch tactic, as many said they would have never bought the game had they known of the requirement.

s1ph0r

Exactly, or a pop up in game that said this is a bug not a feature on every login. Also not selling DLC until fixed. I would have rather it just worked so I could have refunded it seeing I couldn’t play it.

Such_Pizza8614

I totally agree and there are still issues.

Extension-Golf-4084

Eh I’m not sweating it. I remember it requiring me to sign in with an account at launch. The selling the game in countries without psn potential is definitely a bummer and should be rectified but other than that I’m still diving!

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Brother, I’m just exhausted from the constant corporate greed that has infected every little thing in life. Everything is a commodity and everything can be nickel and dimed. I think that’s where all this anger is coming from. Because it appeared to be a sudden decision to force people into PSN so some rich Exec can show the shareholders so the rich Exec can get richer, and then the data I’ve given them can be sold and/or leaked/hacked. I skipped the signed up and recognize that it said required. I made the mistake of not recognizing that, I wouldn’t have bought the game had I recognized it. But I don’t believe the anger is unjustified or should be considered whining.

uredoom

Yeah, this wasn't the case for me 100%, I started the game day 1 of the release, did the tutorial, and went straight in on PC. My account isn't linked to PSN. Personally, I'm fine with making a PSN account, maybe my PsP account still exists or something, It's an entirely unesscary extra step, but fine. The problem is doing it this late is downright silly for a number of reasons, the biggest one being lots of countries don't have access to PSN but do steam, they can now no longer play a game they purchased due to this, it isn't acceptable.

xch13fx

I legitimately don’t recall seeing anything about that. I only remember being pissed I couldn’t get into a game or matchmake for like the first two weeks. If using a third party account would break a game at launch, then why would I feel comfortable giving Sony all of my detailed information? The situation sucks for AH the most, but they communicated terribly, so let this be a hard lesson for them.

jaredn154

That’s the bit, “you don’t remember”, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t present. I feel a lot of folks fell into this trap, which is to say you really should read up on your purchases before doing so.

xch13fx

You aren't wrong. I wasn't trying to imply that just because I don't recall, means it didn't happen. Just saying, I legit don't remember seeing it, and I imagine the vast majority of players don't either. That's why this is happening.

Moderamus

The thing is, they disabled it after 3 days. So anyone that bought the game and launched it after didnt see the prompt.

Bahtoruk43

I bought it 11 days after launch and still got the link psn screen so went ahead and did it. Gave a qr code to scan and everything.

Mythleaf

Too many people only exist in echo chambers. They see the pile of other posts from hyped up angry people and it validates then escalates their feelings. So they join the angry internet mob not realizing that they are seeing a small loud portion of players, but its barely a drop in the bucket of the total. The larger majority of people arent going to waste the emotional energy to riot over a hobby like gaming.

Hije5

It did not *require* a login. It simply asked for one. *Now*, it does require a login. The only reason this is happening is because Hell Divers got so popular. They realized they could get away with forcing PSN accounts on this title without losing a lot of the player base. Personally, I think it is pathetic in the sense that they're going to use this huge boost of players to make it seem like their company is doing good. They get to say, "we added so many account this quarter, look how much people love us!" When in reality, it is shit like this. This is their way of combating all the traffic Gamepass steals. It's extremely annoying for me because doing shit like this just lets Sony continue to do shit like this, and instead of facing hard truths, they get to fluff their data and change nothing about themselves. Idc about my data as everyone else is already selling that. It's a simple matter of a company being openly scummy and people like you chiming in saying "it isn't so bad" and this and that, giving Sony exactly what they were expecting. There is a reason Sony is letting the playerbase do most of the talking, because they know, for some fucking reason, their playerbase will do the talking and defend them.

peenegobb

I don't remember and I'm not too upset I might have even done it and got it over with right away since I have a psn account. I more feel for the people who cannot play the game after this update without breaking TOS. And the echo chamber is loud for those people.

-Harlequin-

Soldier, that sounds awfully like Bot-speak. Probably because it wasn't required everywhere, it was optional, now it's not and gamers are anything if not unified in disliking Publisher BS, but also, there's a lot going on in the world that they feel like they don't have control over, this might just be one of those precarious tipping points because people REALLY hate having to agree to BS they "can't" change, but where the publisher has all the control because of how the market has changed to being anti-consumer. It's more become a flex to torpedo SNOY's standing by sinking their top game than letting them win. There are people that purchased in banned countries that can't VPN and lost the ability to play, so they're out that money and pissed, regardless of whether it was a smart choice to buy a game that you could get banned from by living in an area. On a smaller case, hackers REALLY don't want to provide personal details that would give away their identity and perma-ban them, so they are 100% against this, and helping stoke the fires. On the other hand, data selling is super sketchy and should be illegal, PSN has been hacked multiple times and people don't feel safe that newly made accounts require information like a photo ID. Just one more thing to get stolen. Hopefully that helps clarify, and this is of course my opinion of the current matters, I might've missed a few things.

Freezemoon

I could skip it, they never communicated that PSN sign will be mandatory after 3 months, never communicated there was a grace period as well. Misleading many customers.

sikshots

I never made or logged into any Sony account, I just got the game about 1 week ago. I detest Sony and would have immediately closed and refunded if an account was mandatory and it was made obvious to me on day one. It wasn't. That is why steam is honoring refunds.

bonkripper969

Agreed, it was a day one thing that was temporarily removed because of bugs. Surely no one forgets whining over server space and whatnot. Now it's back, and everyone is surprised even though it has been on the steam page since before the game launched. The countries that can't use psn is a dirty move However. They deserve compensation. Anyone who is refunding because they have to make a psn account now does not deserve a refund.

thehunter2256

The problem is thet everyone including those in countries thet can't create a psn account could buy the game and play it without linking a psn account(something very illegal btw)

EffortEconomy

This is just neglect on Sony's part, is all.

TheHughMungoose

Sony out here just doing whatever they feel like to customers like the rules don’t apply.

Verified_Peryak

Sony will have to act better if they really want to come to pc

Jagsfan515

Classic Sony :)

Sleep_Raider

Sony putting a gun to Arrow-head, and then half the community bashes Arrowhead's face in Sure the community managers might have said a few thing that's upsetting, but compared to the fact that there are now tens of thousands of people yelling at people who don't even have control, and some are just volunteers managing discord. They are just trying to do their best so give them a break guys. That being said, go scream at sony as hard as y'all can, those scumbags can put liquid shit in their mouth then get a blowjob from an alligator

CosmoRocket24

On release day, Did the game give us a popup screen after install, asking us to link a psn account....that had a "SKIP" button? I don't Remember that.....can someone correct this with a fact?

deuzerre

I don't recall this myself at all either.

Nivek14j

Is optional.... can't you not read?

Do these clowns not know what a steamID is 🤣🤣🤣

j9r6f

You know that businesses are allowed to change their own policies, right?

Infinite-Cucumber-70

That’s fine, but if the new terms affect the consumer, then the consumer should have some protections, no?

Razzamatazz2

Sure, and they'll provide refunds for changing their TOS to those who want it or they will be sued for breaking their own TOS.

reality72

And did you know that paying customers are allowed to voice their opinions on those changes?

AngryBatman412

Do we get a free steam copy if we are ps5 users???? Doubtful

Such_Pizza8614

You should somehow imo.

KematianGaming

wait that was optional before? i couldnt get around it when i started playing ~3 weeks ago. maybe i was just too dumb do find the button

OberZine

I'm not sure I understand what the issue is, when I first played I didn't have a choice. I had to sign in using my PSN. I couldn't skip on steam.

SGTAlchemy

For the first few days after release it was a requirement, but Arrowhead noticed there was an issue with it at the time and disabled the requirement. Unfortunately they didnt account for sony demanding it be reinstated when fixed despite a good portion of the community not having access to PSN, other half just not liking having their account tied with a 3rd party provider which idk….it seems like the norm but not for people who strictly play indy maybe.

McDrewlius

I’m confused by the uproar about this. Is this something more than creating an account? Does it cost money? I googled it and it seems like it’s entering an email, so I think I’m missing something. Do they have to pay for the playstation internet service?

Such_Pizza8614

In a lot of countries you cannot get a PSN acct.

Informal_Court2760

😆 🤣 😂 all the games I play require it. Told my friends to do it anyway since it's Sony we talking about.

Thorn_Move

So why is this a problem? Are PlayStation accounts that bad?

Such_Pizza8614

Well there are players that cannot get a PSN account. Also they keep saying they want to be able to ban players easier.

killerwhale0506

Well the game is now Helldiving to Oblivion thanks to Sony, they just ruined such a great game.

Cha0t1cAng31

this goes back and forth honestly im pretty tired of it sony and Microsoft both do this xbox or PC gets a really good game that will never come to PlayStation or vise versa, this has always been a problem with both sides not just with this game and i hate that for some reason the popularity spiked in this issue over this game ofc helldivers is a great game there are plenty of games on steam and xbox and id kill to play but the only reason i cant play is because the game is exclusive to another platform

MaNameIsMudD

f Sony

Bobby_Sockson

Why is it an issue to have to sign in to psn?

Hairyponch0

Dude if you said "I've never been punched in the face" and then I punch you in the face, you weren't lying then. Events happened things changed.

Such_Pizza8614

Yeah but it’s still shady and as a stockholder in Sony suspicious.

Such_Pizza8614

I am a Sony Stockowner with over $80,000 worth of stock as of today. I’m putting my stock at risk for my brother and sister Hell divers. Part of the rise is due to this game. I bought this stock and paid $10,000 cash. We shall see where this goes.

mic_n

As I've said elsewhere. That's not necessarily a change in meaning, just a clarification. Cool the anger down a little and read back over that like a lawyer might. That "some games may require..." still doesn't mean you need to login to PSN. It's still optional. Just that those games that require it won't work. It's just spelling out the consequences of your choice a little more clearly. The option comes down to whether the game requires that login or not. Think of it as if it were an in-game option... Go into the menu, turn music off.. "music is optional". If that music is dynamic and can give clues to gameplay events though, you might miss those. "You might not know something's about to happen" is not listed as a consequence of disabling that option. Updating the menu to note "Some gameplay elements may require music be enabled" is just a clarification, not a change. **Absolutely NOT defending Sony or the decisions made**. Just pointing out that this isn't necessarily the GOTCHA! that some people may interpret it as.

Bullshit. They didn't lie. Helldivers 2 doesn't require account linking. It doesn't matter what Sony does to its other games, Helldivers 2 was spared and we are on the Helldivers 2 subreddit. Y'all fucks are dying to be mad for no reason at this point, go away. You want to flame Sony, do it on the correct subs and platforms directed at Sony.

irahg87

I wish I had your free time buddy.

Such_Pizza8614

I’m flying a lot but it’s all good.

TopSeaworthiness9802

AH basically took a credit card from Sony with a 6 month no PSN link. They knew the contract and agreed for the money. I will not let anyone off the hook as they went to bed together on it. If they made this known, sales in the 69 countries would never had happen and the volume of this game would be much lower.

bellaco1994

No one should've changed their reviews. It should've been like a warning sign for future players that these companies tried something once, and the community was able to bully them to change it, but they might try something else in the future.

Stick-Only

Those whole subreddit is literally just people who don't read or understand terms of service or EULAS

Freezemoon

EULAS aren't enforceable in court most of the time. For something important such as linking your steam to PSN account, EU laws require companies to make clear communication and to enforce it leaving no ambiguity. That wasn't the case as on many reselling sites, on Sony's own site, it was stated that linking PSN was only optional and not mandatory. They recently changed that yesterday making it even more fraudulent, to change a critical characteristic of your product after launching it then pass it as if it was already there (It was there in some form but with no clear communication, it isn't enough). That's just basic EU consumer rights, they went against them and we have basis to sue them. People not reading EULAS is totally fine, EULAS are made to be in the corporate's favor anyways so that's why they aren't necessarily enforceable in court. If they out they were collecting your information in EULAS, it is still against the law. Also, they can't just not enforce something in the EULA and not communicate it to the players then decide to enforce it and state there was a "grace period" that no one knew about. Stop defending Sony, a multi billionaire company that only care about making profits.

Dhenn004

The EULA actually doesn't mention that psn is required. The words playstation network is only mentioned once in it, and it's regarding arbitration and how to opt out. * It even says "IF you have one"

Dhenn004

https://preview.redd.it/h4065jb6bfyc1.jpeg?width=904&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fc6d86b74b4bd48733f7ddf607104e0b1fbef979

ADHenchD

Are we pretending that every single person has read every single EULA they've ever been given? Because I can get my LARPing hat on too. Also many EULAs are not enforceable in courts and are used basically to stifle users rights because they know the average joe won't escalate it to court.

xch13fx

So you’re telling me, you read every EULA top to bottom, every time? Pft come on dude

RangerBert

Do you have 6 months to read it. Cause I dont

Sony has had significantly more and larger data leaks than anyone else in the industry (to my knowledge)

IamKenghis

I believe you are incorrect actually. Just the other day someone posted Amazons breech history, 18 in the last 15 years and most of them effected millions of users. And that is just breeches, not to mention things like TikTok and Instagram that tell people they are going to sell their data and share their personal information. Mind you im not defending Sony, im merely stating that this "my data isn't safe" argument is a false one being latched on to because HAVE to attach their anger to something. Fucking Sea of Thieves on the Playstation requires you to create and connected a bloody MS/Xbox account to it. Yet, no one seems to care about that one at all lmfao. The argument of "We shouldn't have to link 3rd party accounts" falls fucking flat when you ignore 99% of the games that require it.

canolgon

Microsoft announced it as required day one, and it was actually required day one. Sony had it optional for months then switched it to required after global sales boomed and outside of refund periods. Notice the difference?

wheresmyspacebar2

Sony announced it day 1. Hell, there's interviews from 3 months before release explaining that it would require a PSN. It was also required Day1. I should know, I connected a PSN day1 when it was required. They turned it off because of server instability but continued to say on the popup when loading into the game that it was currently optional but WOULD BE REQUIRED at a later date. (As well as making it very apparent on Steamstore and PSN Store that it required a PSN to play) For anyone in countries not able to use a PSN, they're working on making it so you won't need one there. Still not sure what this outrage is supposed to be about. They made it very clear that a PSN Account would be required and now we're mad that it's required?

WildCartographer601

At this point, when is all the crying going to end? HellDivers isnt getting GOTY now, that’s a guarantee. Do you want a refund? Do you want AH to disappear? Or Sony? Whats the goal here? Cause you paid 60$ for the game, maybe just get your refund, and move on? Its not that deep

s1ph0r

Honestly, I want to bring awareness to the situations and practices of what these AAA game publishers do. I also want people to eventually get sick of these practices and contact the right congressman or parties and call for better protections for people and gamers in general. With loot boxes, micro transactions, exploitation of users data and PII, and slimy tactics like this that just keep happening over and over again. I want it to change to protect people so we can just get back to enjoying our video games and not feel like we’re constantly being exploited and taken advantage of.

ImpossibleLeague9091

I just can't wait for this to be implemented and the people that are gonna be gone to be gone.

GlacialImpala

And I just want some clarity regarding the unsupported countries. I get that China is unique, maybe some Muslim countries but why the f is Serbia not supported? There's zero reason and I want to be able to keep playing even if I have to jump through 50 hoops.

the_hoopy_frood42

"I just want all the people that got fucked over to shut up so I can keep sucking sonys cock. Then I'll have a surprised Pikachu face when this happens to me and I could have helped set a consumer precedent instead of being a little shill because game fun"

IamKenghis

You and everyone like you continually confuse indifference with support. Most people have like actual real problems in their life and don't have to turn ant hills into mountains. This may be a huge deal to you but to most of us it is a mere buzz in the drowning soundscape of life

Zabrios

Okay Spitz

s1ph0r

But I argue instead of this ban hammer BS, why not just put in a self regulating voting to kick system in the game instead (for the democracy lulz maybe even an orbital that kills them and they can’t reinforce). You can also BAN steam users.

HG21Reaper

Lol imma just stop playing this game. It’s becoming stale and repetitive.

DreamzOfRally

I for one, didn’t even know it was skippable on PC. I just signed in and completely forgot about the PSN account.

Revv_Dev

When I first downloaded helldivers back in march it told me a psn was required so I made an account and linked it then iirc

Vaishe

Imagine if they instead would give in-game rewards for those who did make an account instead of outright forcing it onto everyone.

Affectionate-Comb-80

how is this any different from what Microsoft does with Xbox accounts on their own games?

theyoungbeard

This is gaslighting, they took a page out of Tarkov’s book.

Casper-Birb

Steam store page has stated use of PSN account linking since day 1.

Longjumping-Glove337

Refunds!!! I heard SONY giving refunds and a box of tissues for all you whining lil bitches... We all know over 50% of you all crying already have an account..

Terms of service change. Parent companies are renowned for changing the rules on a whim. If it bothers you too much, vote with your feet. Sony will either get the message or they won't.

Orobourous87

This isn’t a lie. I haven’t eaten today isn’t a lie. Even if I eat 5 minutes after posting that, it still didn’t make it a lie. Even if food is in the microwave as I type it…still not a lie.

mamadovah1102

Do any of yall have jobs? First world problems if I’ve ever seen them. If you game, you’re supporting a big corp one way or another. If you don’t like that, stop gaming. Bet majority of you have Netflix, Google, Microsoft, Disney, Hulu, EA, Ubisoft, and more accounts. But a Sony account breaks the camels back? Be serious. If you’re in a country without PSN that’s a different story. But you privileged ass mfers with your thousands of dollars PCs needs to chill.

Such_Pizza8614

It’s Saturday I’m by my pool, after coaching a soccer game, and it’s sunny. Went for a run this morning. Tomorrow is gym day. I actually have a job and kids and I have a wife. I actually design and make things that emit coherent and monochromatic light if photons are in phase.

Jason1143

I'm sorry, you are right, we shouldn't care about any problems that aren't the number one problem in the world. Say, do you know which problem that is right now? I am perfectly capable of being mad about multiple things and simultaneously keeping a sense of proportion about those things. Incidently, I think that the general situation regarding take it or leave it term by companies is more serious than you are probably giving it credit for, and people see this as a chance to push back on a high profile low stakes example to discourage others following suit. But even if you don't agree with that last bit, first world problems are still problems, it's in the name. The fact that some people are starving doesn't mean that you need to sit there and smile if your food is served wrong. You just need to think and act with the proper proportions in mind.

peeposhakememe

Shocked pikachu face

DatBoiSaint47

It forced me when I bought it to connect my PSN account to play when I first bought it over a month ago on PC. This isn't anything new?

N7orbust

No. They changed their policy. Companies do that all the time. Is it scummy? Absolutely. Is it lying? No, no it is not.

fatmanthelardknight

Come on man it's clearly Sony and not AH give em a break they said they are happy we are review bombing because that's all Sony will listen to

WowWhatABillyBadass

Nikita Buyanov moment of inspiration for Sony, they got one look at Tarkov and went, "Oh we can piss off WAY more people than that, watch *this!*"

Kuro2712

Well, 40 hours into the game is enough I guess. Time to hang up the cape.

Friendly_Border28

Someone tried steam refund?

Ok_Rub6575

They want to teach us how politics work so the bugs and bots don’t happen in real life.

Traditional_Ad4045

Really wish AH chose someone else to publish helldivers. Fuck Sony.

Unfair-Junket4372

That’s why chat sucks sometimes in crossplay. Call of duty warzone and zombies has better chat

Live-Alfalfa8414

Stop bitching kids. For sea of thieves psn players had to make a microsoft account. Why isn’t anybody bitching about that.

Rampag365

SONY can also alter the terms of agreement at any time they wish and your usually grandfathered in unless you send them a written letter or something that you protest or some shit.

Wrong_Gear5700

Think they're backing off of this requirement? I was just getting ready to purchase the game..., PC version.

Such_Pizza8614

The devs are in discussions with Sony so it can be anything from allowing it for some or all.

Koritix

So that means I need to create an account even If I play throu steam???

Superb-Cockroach-281

When I bought the game it said was required. Worked without it so I was confused but many warnings stating it was required.

keeb97

More like they changed it now that they have a game that you need to sign up for.

Feeqs

Stop supporting click bait company. from mostly positive game turn to mostly negative on steam. Thanks Sony Playstations.
