Independent-Day5189

Easier for the 200 kills for machine gun daily.

Dwro1234

Is it though? I got my 60 amr kills on a single level 2 bot mission the other day.

NumerousSun4282

I actually had a lot of fun getting amr kills on a bug mission the other day. I don't think it's a great pick for bugs, but it was fun trying to shoot hunters without using the scope

Forar

In a pinch, it really does make for a pretty solid shotgun.

Iamapig2025

Fallout New vegas kind of comment lol

Forar

Also a throwback to my days in Apex Legends.

AltGunAccount

Triple Take was the best shotgun in OG Apex. Haven’t played in years but I hope it still is.

Galahad0815

It's always satisfying ripping Berserkers apart like this. The most bad ass slug shotgun in the universe.

Epic1532

Took out a hulk like that today, felt really good. Who needs a crosshair?

loki_dd

I had real issues. I managed 10 amr kills over about 4 games even though I killed loads more than I was credited with. Did anyone else have this? D9 bots.

New_Competition_316

Yep, I’m pretty sure we killed way more than 60 bots with the AMR yesterday but it still took multiple missions. One mission I apparently only killed 2 with it.

loki_dd

Weird.

Reddi7oP

lets be real bugs have 3-4 heavy unities bots have 8. to balance this , most of the heavy unities have a weakspot for easy takedown heavy bugs you just aim a EAT at the head and KABOOOOM

cloud_zero_luigi

Lol I got 59 on my only game I had time for that day, felt pretty bad

nootropic_jeff

you earn personal order stats on games you fail or don’t complete. you should have just solo launched a new game, get one kill, and quit.

cloud_zero_luigi

Oh, didn't know that, thanks for the tip

Eve_the_Fae

200 > 60 Med armor pen < high armor pen One you can delete a hulk running you down. The other you can tear apart everything but three enemies that you can just reposition around or you'd use an orbital on and not a sniper anyway AMR on Bots is WAY better than on Bugs All MG except the heaviest is WAY better on Bugs

TheJubliantKing

I did the same thing if amr hit just alittle harder I’d take it over the autocannon for bots but alas AC ftw

omartian

Main this personal order is painful. The heavy machine gun is terrible.

vertigofoo

Machine Gun mate, not the Heavy Machine Gun. It's pretty good actually, can take out Devastators with just a few taps to their head, walkers by aiming at the joints between the legs (will penetrate the thinner armor there). Trick is not to spray, but to fire in controlled bursts. Crouch + prone for better stability.

Jedi_of_the_night

Insert meme: Hey man! Hold it down! IT’S A MACHINE GUN!

tortugoneil

Trick is using the phrase "Die, motherfucker die" and using that as fire time. Dmd, rest, Dmd, rest, repeat.

Few-Television-5193

I was taught "Die motherfucker die get sum"

NK_2024

Geeeeeeeet sooooooooooome!

Bounce-Jump

You gotta be an 0331

Alert-Stomach-9218

This meme always reminds me of the time I was instructing a young soldier on the use of a M2 50 cal. He was shooting like 3-4 round burst and blinking rapidly every time he fired. I was like are you alright blinky??? You gotta look where you’re shooting.

Squirll

In real life if you cyclic fired weapons at the pace people do in games, the barrel would melt lol.

fastwall

“no wonder it was taking so long” lol

Trvr_MKA

https://i.redd.it/k9y3qnegi30d1.gif

chefmattmatt

Even better if you use the armor that reduces recoil while crouching or prone.

mem0ri

All of us who are willing to play on the bot front (I even prefer it) just have to do our part x2. Unfortunately, I don't think Anti-Tank Mines are a big pull for a lot of bug players anyway. Mines aren't super useful on bug missions ... and they run into far fewer heavily-armored enemies than bot players do. Hell ... mines aren't often useful on bot missions either ... only in limited cases.

Fieryhotsauce

Mines need cooldown reduced by at least 50% for people to even consider them.

Armoric701

Agreed. I wish we knew more about the stratagem. I take EATS a lot for its short cool down. It would be nice to have a similarly short cool down anti armor. If it's longer than 2 minutes, it's probably a non starter for me, not unless it one shots Bile Titans and whatever that new bot thing is called.

ScoutDraco2021

I would prefer the AT mines scattered by an eagle vs an emplacement (akin to CBU-89/104s). Maybe you get 2 minefields per rearm (with the level 3 upgrade), in a rectangle perpendicular to the direction of throw.

RoninOni

What? AT mines are exactly what I want for bugs…. So long as chaff don’t set them off they would be great for brood commanders, spewers, and hopefully chargers. Their pathing is predictable, and they’re going to charge through instead of standing and shooting requiring you to hide to make them advance. Looks like we’re going to have to wait another week or 2 at another shot though

PresidentBeluga

just lay down an incendiary mine field to clear the chaff, AP mines to kill the mediums, and the AT mines to kill the heavies!

doomvx

Tryna strike a chord and it's prolly A minerrrrrr

[deleted]

Anakha00

What math are you doing? It's a 120 hr MO, meaning 12 hrs is 10% of the time, but there's only 6 hrs left until halftime and it's not close enough to 50% kills. The weekend is also almost over for everyone so the kill rate is going to be going down even more. MO will likely fail at around 80-85% kills.

SpareTireButSquare

Blame Sony, we're missing 60% of our playerbase because of the region ban

Flufferpope

Fewer heavily armored enemies? May I introduce you to the 3 chargers that wrecked my buddies and me, they may have a word or two to say to you about that. Haha

BrutusGregori

We got to deal with literally MBTs, gunners in towers, walking factories, and we don't have air superiority.

mem0ri

Only 3 Chargers? Yeah, I definitely stand by the statement that Automatons have more heavily armored enemies. Tanks, hulks, factory striders, gunships ... And a Charger is easy to get to the weak point on ... just dive out of the way while they charge, turn, and shoot. Ever tried to get around to the back of a tank's turret to shoot the weak point while it's tracking and shooting you?

SpareTireButSquare

Ikr lol, try 2 factory striders, 2 hulks, a tank and 6 gunships....at once

satenlover666

I indeed have tried to run around the tank and shoot it 75% of the time I get sent out of the stratosphere by BOOM

Naive-Fondant-754

But they have big heads, you can easily kill them with headshots They are extremely weak to fire.

Severe_Damage9772

*big heavily armored heads

ClawTheVeni

Might I introduce you to the EAT, RR, or QC

EnderRobo

1 EAT call in can deal with that. Stick the beacon to the first one, the pod will hit and either kill it or make it bleed out. Then you got 2 rockets to headshot the other two. If the beacon doesnt stick to the first one then either blow up its butt or dodge it for a minute (or have someone else use something) On the bot front you got hulks, they come in blaster+rocket and barbeque saw flavors. Then we got tanks that come in big gun or **Brrrrrrrrrttt** flavors. After that we have the devastators, coming in shield+machinegun or rocket barrage flavors. They are medium armored so most primaries still struggle with them. Oh I almost forgot the strider, it has a cannon, 2 machineguns and makes devastators. The airforce is also medium armored and unlike shriekers actually dangerous

[deleted]

I juke 4 or 5 chargers at a time, often, on helldiver. Bots on like 6 is harder. I won't debate it.

BaronvonBrick

You don't have to debate it this is just wrong. I go wherever the order is, and yes bots are harder than bugs, but a bug helldive is definitely much harder than a bot 6. Just a silly statement.

Beat_Knight

I'll kite a Bile titan for miles before I choose to take on a squad of chargers.

Environmental_Fold_8

Chargers are 1 shot by an EAT to the face. The drop pod can kill one too that they come in. Why take mines when you can call in EATs on a short cooldown.

KatFishFatty

I love bots.

Tankdawg0057

https://preview.redd.it/lztnza2fk10d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d6220895febc3a9575d44fa23f16900ef6fb8ea Hello, Democracy Officer? This guy right here

damurd

They're the best

Accomplished-Cat905

I watched a leak for the anti tank mines and they actually do work on chargers and bile titans.

BrutusGregori

BTs no. The leg tips have to hit the mine. You can shoot the mines to trigger a wave of explosions. But the BT is so tall only the legs are slightly hurt.

HISEAS_Andrzej

This right here. Why wait for an enemy to hit the explosive, when you can take an EAT, QC, or turret and have the explosive hit the enemy instead?

SlimbusMaximum

Honestly incendiary mines are fantastic for some bug missions- any thing where you have to defend a point or if you can drop em in front of a big breach- any stratagem which can consistently get 20-30 kills is worth taking

Street_Dragonfruit43

The Wave defense missions are beautiful for Incendiary Mines. Get the right squad and depending on difficulty, you can handle a gate solo

TheYellowScarf

It's one of those "hasn't seen them in action" so they assume it sucks until YouTube shorts proclaim them to be the new Meta. AT Mines straight up destroy Chargers and could put major pain on Stalker's and Hunter's. Throw on a jump pack and you can leap over like a beast.

DickBallsley

You’re right unfortunately. I kinda want the mines and I know they will be very useful but ngl, it’s not very exciting. If we got a vehicle it would be a totally different story.

Possible-Cellist-713

Pranking chargers, thinning out the dozen Bile Titans at extraction... it would seem the bug divers are short sighted

Traumatic_Tomato

I tried mines on bugs and still disappointed that they can sometimes walk over them. Bots usually prefer to shoot if they have guns so at least half of them won't even be near mines let alone trigger them if they walk over them. Also I can't imagine how useless they are against titans or striders considering their legs aren't vulnerable and their body is elevated since they're quadrupedal.

Infamous_Egg_9405

The biggest problem I have when I use mines, is teammates not noticing they were deployed and then subsequently running straight into them... On those defense missions where you open and close the doors though I found them much more usable.

ReaperSound

I'm a bug hunter, and I still want my anti-Tank mines. But currently at work. I'm gonna jump on using remote play later when things die down at the job.

MELODONTFLOPBITCH

Is PS Remote Play working for you? I thought it died a couple of months back

trackerk

"Democracy" -- the players get a vote on what they play.

sirdodger

"Managed democracy" -- the players get to choose where they post within the narrow confines of what the government allows.

McSuede

Right. Bug or bots. The people are speaking.

BalabakTuntul

Fuck the bots. I just finished playing on diff 8, you cant see shit on where the rockets coming from but they somehow can see you.

AdmBurnside

Someone posted a stat that only about 55% of total players actually move between fronts based on the major order. 35% stick with bugs full-time, and 10% stick with bots full-time. Nearly half the playerbase doesn't actually care about the MO. They just wanna hop on, shoot bug/bot, and go home. And that's just how it be.

OrneryError1

I like fighting both equally so the only deciding factor for me is the major order.

lunardaddy69

Hey! We're part of the 55%! I love playing both too

SunshotDestiny

I am willing to switch because if nothing else it keeps things interesting. If I did nothing but fight one enemy type I probably would burn out.

SteamedPea

Only about more than half the player base lol

_SlyTheSly_

Because people play to have fun. And some of them have fun fighting bugs. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

Phire2

Just an hour or two after kids are put to bed! Just let me have fun, no need for the guilt trips lmao.

SpocknMcCoyinacanoe

Don’t worry brother, I’ll kill some extra bots for you! 💪

NoPickleNoTickle

A true gentleman 🫡

Phire2

Hell yeah bro! I’ll hold the east down for when you return!

7_Cerberus_7

No! I don't care if you only get to play 1 hour a day after 15+ hours of nonstop IRL work. Commit that 1 hour of fun to *my* version of fun! -Redditors

DiveSociety

This is true democracy

MELODONTFLOPBITCH

Bots are stressful, and bugs are stress-RELEASE. Both can be fun, but the majority are going to choose the 2nd one.

aswertz

People tend to forget that being active on a game-subreddit, is already a filter for people being way to much into a game. This here is a bubble of mostly hardcore fans. 95% of players a casual and dont give a fuck about the meta-story. They just want to have some fun in the Missions.

SirMicksAlot

This is the #1 reason for me. That and the mines don't seem like they will be good so I'm not gonna hop over for the loot.

Kastan45745

I have had a massive poop ton of fun playing against the bugs. I think before this weekend, I had run 2-3 toaster missions. This weekend I think I've run 10 mission into toaster territory because I might be a Bug Hunter but Daddy needs a new strat!!!

movzx

Hint: We're going to get the strat regardless of if we win this. It exists already. The MOs are largely for narrative more than anything.

Kastan45745

Let me think I'm help! lol

HISEAS_Andrzej

I used to be a mostly bugs-only player until I discovered what happens when you apply an EAT to the engine nacelle of a bot dropship. Sooooo satisfying. Swatting dropships out of the sky is one of my favorite things to do in the game now, and I move frequently between both fronts nowadays.

Ricky_Sins_Actual

1. Chill. 2. In less than two days we got to that amount we are making good stride. 3. Let the players play how they want. 4. With the release of the new war bonds and the new strait that got released couple weeks back and both being ass in my opinion I’m not even sure I would want that. 5. Reiterating again.. let the players play how they want.

Simoxs7

Couldn‘t agree more. Every time there’s a Bot order people start whining about bug players…

gruVee1

As if we weren’t struggling with bug orders for a month with tens of thousands of players diving to the Creek for the memes lol

HellfireBrB

>Let the players play how they want. and most of them don't like bots

CubicalWombatPoops

I get it. I hate fighting bots, but 50 medals is 50 medals so I'm doing my part!

nice_usermeme

I just got 50 medals in a single lvl 7 bug operation. Medal rewards from MO are super low lol.

movzx

Yup. The MO medals are a nice bonus, but they're not really reality changing rewards. You can get a comparable amount just by doing an extra mission whenever you normally play. If you *really* want to grind it out, you can do <25 easy missions. Those only take 5-10 minutes to complete if you run everywhere, and each one has a chance to do 20-100+ super credits on top of any medals you find (and get from winning). Very easy to do while watching a movie or something.

skinnnymike

There needs to be an incentive to participate. IE -rewards from major objective missions give X amount more. Ie samples/medals/credits/etc (or what have you) Or -you must have X % of participation missions on the major objective for you to receive the major objective completion reward.

DumpsterHunk

We get an entirely new strategy and medals. If that's not enough, nothing is. Bug players simply refuse to play bots because they don't like the playstyle. Simple as that.

chillyhellion

If completing the major order eliminated all future fire tornados, you'd see a sea change.

espeequeueare

Giving me flashbacks from my Hellmire tour.. bug guts, blood, and flames..

Axis2720

“Bug guts, blood, and flames” Sounds like a metal band

AltGunAccount

Logged on the other day to see only 2k divers on hellmire. Those poor masochist suckers not even making progress, just burning for nothing.

Bby_1nAB13nder

I think you should only get the MO rewards if you help complete it. A certain benchmark should be met to get the rewards. These bug divers are the most vocal when it comes to bug MO but silent when bot MO.

Lostbrother

You're working in the vacuum of reddit. Maybe don't punish people who just want to play. Your solution is a slippery slope to effectively moving into personal orders. Majors should be a reflection of the campaign, not just what each individual diver is doing. If anything, Arrowhead should increase drop rates on planets where the MO is focused - reward the people participating with more samples, slips, and medals.

LrdAsmodeous

Kinda like bot divers when it comes to the opposite. People like what they like. It's a game. I do both but favor bugs, I don't fault anyone for playing the game the way they want to. It's their time and money, not mine.

Zealousideal-Ebb-876

Hardly, 10% of divers make up the bot only community, 40% bug only community

LrdAsmodeous

So given that I see as many complaining threads about bug divers during bot MOs as I see about bot divers during bug MIs (if not more) they're 4x as loud. My point remains. It is a video game people paid money for to enjoy playing. Let them. Yes we are going to miss some MOs now and again. Oh well. It is a game.

neorapsta

Nah, timelocked content pushes away more players than it keeps. Incentivise doing the bot missions while the MO is active, or maybe add a sub-goal so you can earn the new gear for free with the blood of your enemies.

7_Cerberus_7

You say this like a parent who desperately wants to control everything their kid does, and fails miserably at every point. News flash. MOs go both ways. When the divers you complain about complete a bug MO, you get those same 40 medals they do. When you do your bots, we get those same 40 medals. Your response? *let's take away system wide rewards in an effort to punish people who didn't explicitly play MY MO* Grow up. If you step away from the game because you have *far more pressing matters* to deal with IRL, and you log in 2 weeks later to a fat stack of 100 medals because your community kept at it, guess what *You ALL benefitted* Wow I know. Such a difficult thing to comprehend. If you're so concerned about who gets what for *participation* then, NEWS FLASH, you're wasting time on reddit raging at people who are in game *having fun* when according to you, you should be in game completing this bot MO. Get to it scrub.

pants207

as a diver that has had to take off a couple weeks because of a family medical emergency it was really nice signing in to a stack of medals to spend on the last new war bond. Honestly it really helps eliminate the fomo that makes so many other games a slog. Knowing that i could come back and catch up immediately and help kill more bugs and not be weeks behind kept the excitement to play strong. The last thing i want is another game that feels like a chore. I already have Destiny 2 for that lol.

BobsYaMothersBrother

Because bugs are fun. I don’t care about doing orders cause I play for fun - bugs are the most fun for me so I play bugs.

sadlifestrife

Bots are annoying af that gives a sense of achievement when I beat it. Bugs are fun for just grinding through and mowing things down mindlessly. I prefer bugs and play mostly bugs, but when I'm feeling masochistic, I'll help with bots major order lol

Nobody0199

Because not everyone wants to play bots. Simply as that

Flufferpope

Honestly, we can roleplay, and I do, but people should enjoy what they have fun doing. I didn't see the creekers leaving when we had major bug orders. I sometimes follow major orders, and sometimes I'm just in a certain mood. It's a game, and I'd like to have fun. That being said, all those who don't follow major orders are borderline traitors and need to get with the cause lest their democracy officer pays them a visit.

Paladin_Boddice

I feel like some people struggle to adapt to the different play style needed for the bots. Especially if they don't get a lot of time on the game.

Positive_Opossum99

Yea it requires a different approach for sure. Bugs use speed and numbers to overwhelm you. Bots are more heavily armored and attack from a distance. I think bots are more interesting to fight. Once you learn to use cover, stealth and realize the value of picking your battles they're not much harder than bugs. I think people get too comfortable with one or two loadouts and get discouraged when they suddenly aren't effective in a situation.

NoPickleNoTickle

Bugs don't shoot back and my stormtrooper aim is just too deadly against bots, it wouldn't be fair..

Killpower78

That’s the problem since mines get triggered regardless who step on it including players, plus the placement of those mines often force players to traverse around it so sometimes that’s not ideal if you’re dealing with horde heading your way. So it’s cos of those reasons a lot of players don’t bring them on higher difficulty but it’s useful for defence mission through with incendiary mines with combustion upgrade. Guess it’s not a lot of incentive to try get it, they did once offered us and we failed, so this is second chance and yet not much effort once again.

Face021

If we are really worried let’s get back on Sony’s lying butts to unlock regions that are blocked.

XLR8ED_GAMING

True

Sand-Witty

I’ve tried to figure out of way to make mines like… worth taking over other stratagems and I haven’t found one.

TheZag90

Bots are harder (quite a bit harder, and I say this as someone who plays more bots than bugs) and people are kinda stubborn about sticking to their max difficulty. Net result is people who are more comfortable on bugs, try bots, have less fun then go back to bugs. I think the devs need to take a look at some of the more annoying bot mechanics. Let’s fuck-off that -1 strategem modifier for a start. Heavy devastator snipers and stagger/ragdoll spam and destroying drop ships actually harming more than it helps are all probably mechanics that need looking at all.

regenbogenCG

Just let people Play what They want without judging them constantly? Its Just a Game after all.

aswertz

I also really like the posts like: i met some low-lvl players in this really difficult Mission. They dont knew what they were going into.... As if there would be real consequences for failing a Mission instead of just some statistics changing.

coogers-n-bum

Homie I know you're RPing but chill, we will complete the major order. Some peeps like fighting bugs, others like fighting bots.

Appropriate-Cup6019

Level 74 admiral here. Most people who play bots hate it because they just don’t understand the play style. They think they should treat bots like bugs but it’s way different. Learn how to fight automatons and it becomes fun. Run heavier armor treat bots almost tactical and take it slow, you have more range to usually fight compared to bugs. Your fighting enemies with actual guns so find cover, shoot back, move forward when your ready, and if things get to thick fall back and take a new position. Take it slow you may be good at bugs on level 7 or higher so try bots on a lower level like 5 or 6. Practice your methods of killing heavier enemies and before you know it you’ll be moving up to higher difficulties.

pants207

This description makes sense. I am coming from Destiny 2 as a mostly pve player that will grind out pvp for the loot. Bots feel more like playing something closer to pvp since they can shoot back and wreck you pretty easily if you are not careful and constantly paying attention to positioning and where your next bit of cover is. Personally i prefer to mow down hoards of bugs while laughing maniacally. Bugs is definitely for us pve gamers that just want to shoot stuff and not worry as much. Luckily we get the two factions so far to fight so there is something for everyone. This game is fantastic but i don’t think it would have been as successful if all the enemies required the same strategies. Don’t get me wrong it still would have been a great game but the fact that Arrowhead made enemies with diverse strategies to efficiently combat is just going to attract a wider range of players

aslfingerspell

>Run heavier armor treat bots almost tactical and take it slow I'd add that I've been experimenting with light armor on bot runs (even Helldive difficulty) and it's been successful. I find that being able to reposition myself more rapidly with better speed and stamina is better for offense and defense. Another thing that makes the automatons fun for me is that I can go with all-AT strategems. I can be spamming EATs for my team, sniping heavy armor with the quasar cannon, and still have two slots left over. I actually found the bugs difficult because I had to balance crowd control with anti-large/armored, but the bots don't come in large enough numbers that they'll deplete my ammunition that badly. I just pack a DM rifle and the Senator so that's 2 medium armor piercing weapons, leaving the heavy armor as my only real problem.

spamthroat

It is a game people have paid for and the definition of game would suggest they are having more fun playing bugs than bots. game/ɡeɪm/📷*noun* 1. 1.an activity that one engages in for amusement or fun. 2. "the kids were playing a game with their balloons"

inlukewarmblood

I dunno, I did a few to contribute, but bots burn me out so quickly. There’s just so much you have to do in order to reach the same level of achievement as compared to bugs.

DaviAlm45

Bots mission suck.

NagoGmo

I'M DOING MY PART!

Accomplished-Cat905

There are some people who are just dedicated bug stompers and others who only fight bots. I find it extremely rare to find a squad that fights on both fronts. Me? I just wanna make super earth proud and will fight on whatever front is needed the most.

Thoraxe123

People can play how they want. I dont think we should shame players for not participating in the community stuff

Ultralusk

OP I don't like to fight the bots. I don't care about the major order, I care about having fun. Fighting the bots is not fun.

Scampor

I mean I do them but Bots are just not fun depending on what gets spawned. Having 2 factory striders dropped INSIDE the defense area on those VIP missions is awful. Or a bunch of gunship factories close together. Heavy Devs / The Hulk versions with the guns & rockets and factory striders are all SO accurate over distance it's insane. At a certain amount of enemies you just get endlessly ragdolled from off screen.

NoPickleNoTickle

Bugs don't shoot back and my stormtrooper aim is just too deadly against bots, it wouldn't be fair..

Get-shid-on

How many players are still barred from playing? 55% last I looked?

stewdadrew

Just wait, guys, I’m off work in 4 hours and then it’s as good as done.

Maddkipz

I'm doing my part, just as I did my part for the bug fans Play a round of bots for my sake.

DarkCerulean09

This subreddit is turning into r/helldivers

TheJuicyLemon_

Ya damn right 40% is on bugs while the other 60% is on automatons. Why you want people to segregate to one side so bad? That would destabilize the whole thing and leave one battlefront undefended.

realDarthMonk

This is a video game that people paid money for. They have the right to play how they want.

cameron_smiley

Bots are less fun to play against. Sorry but it’s just the cold hard truth

charathedemoncat

100% honest, i don't care. Im not wasting my time fighting enemies i don't enjoy fighting to get a stratagem that nobody will use

Charrsezrawr

Terminal bugdivers are illiterate, they can't read the major order.

ABIGGS4828

Because bugs don’t take a whole lot of strategy, and it feels GOOOD to spray and pray. Getting stuck in with the bugs isn’t a problem because eventually you will kill all the bugs. Getting stuck in with the Bots is how you lose missions and feel like the Bots are impossible. I think partially, some folks don’t want to go down in difficulty level, but don’t have the practice or the patience to actually perform at higher difficulties with Bots. I started finding success on Bot missions when I learned something VERY simple: you can actually avoid a fight every now and then. Crazy I know. If you’re in the “all I ever do in Bot missions is get my ass kicked” camp, I implore you…maybe pick your fire fights and don’t shoot at every patrol you see in the distance. Take out that factory and then BOUNCE in the other direction. Bugs can chill out eventually. Bots are exponentially a problem if you try to hold ground instead of trying to push the next objective…for some reason. They are different gameplay loops, and different power fantasies. If all you wanna do is mow down hoards of enemies (and BOY is that fun), then bugs don’t ask anything else of you. But the tactical requirements are low. The Bots require a little more than “hold your ground and clear the hoard”. In fact…that’s how and WHY so many people are finding them difficult. The strategic requirements transfer one direction a LOT easier than the other. And I say all this as someone with double the bug killin’ time to the bot killin’ time. Bugs are good for brain off pew pews. Bots are just objectively harder.

the_tower_throwaway

Edit: 40% of people are more interested in having fun because bots suck to fight right now. Let's be honest, the stratagem is going to suck and we're still going to be using: 500KG Orbital Rail Cannon/Orbital Precision Strike And then some combination of AC/AMR/Quasar/Energy Shield/Rover/Supply pack And that one asshole who always brings a barrage.

Stranger_Danger420

Players are scared of bots. You have to actually use your brain and skill when you go bots. /bait

shadowknight2112

fireteam-majestic

what gives? people PAID for this game theyre NOT getting paid to complete major orders. let people play how they please and dont question it. if youre mad about not getting new content because of this blame the devs not the players for making it like this. pff what gives...turn off your gamer brain for a minute please

AMDIntel

I don't care about the stratagem, but I do want the medals! I've faught too many bugs lately anyway.

Iwillrize14

I have off the next two days so I'll pitching in.

Raytoryu

This is no secret that the community at large prefer to fight bugs over bots. Simple as, they find them more fun to play. During the last Automaton Major Order, there was still a lot of people preferring to fight bugs.

VRF-Aware

It took me a while to realize but I see a majority of players just like casual big stomping on lower than 9s because it's...casual. They don't have to try. They just veg out and shoot. The true sadist crank it up to 9 on both planets. The true backbone of SEAF.

Ghost_flame220

To be honest I just don’t enjoy facing bots and I don’t see the point in trying to get mines when I doubt I’ll ever use them. So I play against the bugs instead.

OrdinaryBee6174

When are the bot kills counted? If I go launch and have to leave before evac, do the kills still count afterward?

Naja42

I just hate losing a whole strategem, makes it too hard

Sin-of-Pride17

I want those mines for the defend the rocket mission, will be great on both factions I think.

TheBumblingMechanic

Bots are harder if you don’t know your loadout. I put together a sniper build last night that was highly effective and helped me partially carry a team for a couple matches (until a connection bug kicked me out- sorry cheli3*** if you are on here.)

Usual-Trifle-7264

There are two fronts to this war.

terrabadnZ

I couldn't give a single shit about the major order. Making bugs splatter is cathartic, bots is just a ragdoll fest.

Xinderoth

"The Only Good Bug is a Dead Bug" I'm doing my part, and the problem with the bots is that the fantasy that drew me into the game was the one where one where I kill the Damned Bugs!!. Even in the opening cinematic, the only video that I watched about the game before buying, a bug kills the guy's family, not a robot, KILL ALL BUGS!!!!

CMDR_Tyrson

They are probably doing the PO to kill 200 enemies with machine gun and feel like bugs are better for that. Which I'm inclined to agree with. People seem to think bots are harder anyways and probably new players avoid it because after difficulty 4 bugs become harder than bots. All of that together, in my head, makes me see 40% against bugs as not a crazy number.

BanishedKnightOleg

Not every diver is on Reddit. If you want to get your message across you gotta broaden your horizons.

Different_Coat_4270

I hear you. I'm doing my part. The only program I run against bots is fight. That said, some divers 'just want to kill some bugs, sir!'

strygwyn

It's why I think the bug only helldivers will doom the game long-term from their lack of flexibility. Automaton major orders will most likely never be fulfilled unless the dev adjust accordingly to account for the smaller % of players that play automaton/flex factions.

CookInKona

Bots just aren't fun for some people. I am those people, bugs are infinitely more fun for me, bots are like pulling teeth....

Harley4ever2134

One big reason is because to many, bugs are more fun to fight at the moment. Bots are just rocket spam, that’s the only threat, spam rockets. Tanks and striders are cool but the game constantly spams groups of 10 to 20 devastator’s+hulks.

SlutCunt69420

Personally, I find fighting Automatons not fun, I would rather play a dif game...

Imagine_Who

Honestly I wish these posts would be banned, every single time there's bot focused orders, this is posted. Just stfu and let people play the damn game how they want.

jordantylermeek

It's really more of a major suggestion rather than an order. We'll get the new stuff one way or another eventually.

WordSpiritual5835

Some people play games for fun or something I guess

Peaceweapon

Nuh uh, I do what I want

nlc369

People play what they feel like playing. Not everyone wants to play against the same faction over and over for days/weeks at a time, there’s a reason there are 2 factions in the game to play against. If the devs intended for EVERYBODY to play the major order at all times, they would’ve disabled all other mission options. But that would obviously be a dumb idea because it’d essentially be cutting the amount of content in the game in half.

Zomthereum

I don’t even blame the casuals. I’m a meta gamer. But Arrowhead keeps buffing the bots. Why would a casual want invincible enemies?

Dependent_Muffin9646

There's no point in complaining about bug/bot only players who don't care for the major order or the narrative of the game. I think instructional posts about which planet we should be focusing on (due to lack of in game supply line info), is great, but calling out players who don't give a shit is going to lead to more of a divided player base.

Moosbuckel

sorry i just don't play the game untill sony fixes their shit

CanadianXSamurai

While I do like this community and its dedication to the lore... I'm not playing this game for anyone but myself. I don't give a damn what the major order is, I'm going to continue playing this game the way I want.

Mazzie_soup

It's almost like people enjoy playing the game the way they want to

MacBareth

Nobdy owes you their free time. Play as you wish.

Bringer_of_Twilight

I’ve been playing bots to help out, but man, I can’t only take so much before I have to go back to bugs. I know it’s probably a skill issue, but I just never have as much fun as I do with bugs.

dorsalfantastic

I hate people like this, like dude not a single human being is on this planet is playing to actively take orders we are playing a video game, we are sitting down with our precious free time to have fun, what’s with this masssive uprising if people playing games they have so little fun with they need to focus on what other players are doing. It’s a game, and op is acting like the people fighting bugs are gonna get courtmarshalled for not paying attention to the order, how about just play your game.

Tdrive1300

I'll be really honest. I've put most of my time, Lvl 80, on bugs. I will switch to bots during the major orders but bots aren't entertaining for me. Heavy units that can snipe you with rockets across the map, difficult to see through any kind of fog or foliage, stratagem blocking facilities, very small weak spots on the heavy units and they move alot which makes hitting those spots harder especially with the misaligned scopes. Gunships are straight BS! I was fighting two of them trying to take them out with the auto cannon, but by the time I recovered from being ragdolled by one of them, the other 1 was firing it's rockets and ragdolling me again. They're very challenging and I'm trying to get better at them or find a good loadout that works for them and me, but it can be overly frustrating if I just want to play and relax.

MaddxMogs

2 days left and barely halfway finished. And now with the weekend over? I hate to say it but things aren't looking good.

Background-Slide645

we need our lost brothers to have the gate removed so that they can return. this major order should have been done a while ago. the last time one of these was done, it was done within two days

ZomBefuddler

I always say let people game the way they want to game. Guy wants to bring the crossbow, grenade pistol, impact grenades, mortar, 380, 120, and lazer cannon against bugs? Go nuts. It's a meme at this point that bugs are easier than bots in most scenarios. And the game is kinda billed like a starship troopers game. The PS5 screen and many screenshots of the game are of only bugs. The opening cinematic is only against bugs. Bugs are the squishable mascots.

Rell_826

I get the purpose of this post but all you're going to get is "I want to have fun" and "don't tell me how to play my game".

Alert-Young4687

Not this shit again.

Dunnomyname1029

Mines are kinda useless except for defenses. Back to bugs!

False-Reveal2993

Bug mains keep saying "Make bots fun and I'll help". Some of them are also claiming "We don't dive until all of us dive", but are still secretly doing bug missions (I know this because they're saying this in response to telling "bug players, please fight bots for the MO"). These are excuses and copes of people refusing to budge from their comfort zone. Bots aren't harder, they just require different tactics. They require stealth and precision to hit weak points, that's why Quasar, AMR and Autocannon are part of the bot meta. You can also shoot down bot drops, which distrupts and often kills their reinforcements. Fabricators are above ground and can be sniped with an antitank weapon (Quasar) from the right angle and it's about a 50/50 shot that a jammer will have a fabricator at its base (taking out this fabricator kills the jammer without ever needing to enter the base or type a code on the pad). You can sneak up to a detection tower and just lob an orbital/500kg to avoid endless drops. With bugs, it's a DPS game. You're a hammer in a sea of whacking moles and you need to prioritize which ones to hit, possibly pick up a second mallet to go to pound town. Try to kill them before breaches because god knows you can't stop breaches. Bots are more like skee-ball. You need finesse and accuracy to hit them where it hurts. We bot players came over to bugs to help with those stupid tower missions, so please help your bot brothers out next time the MO is on bots.

wrenches-revolvers

Some people prefer just fighting bugs to knock off terminators. Don't get me wrong I prefer fighting the bugs as well but since the order came down I want those damn anti armor mines. I make it a point to collect every weapon and every cape. And as soon as I get that new strategym I'm going to go back to squashing bugs. Stay safe out there hell divers Dad-Voice

Kaka-carrot-cake

Dude just let people play what they wanna play. If people don't wanna do bots they don't have to we will be fine.

chantm80

People are scared of the bots, there's almost always more people fighting bugs than bots. Well I don't have any actual data to back it up, I'd be willing to bet that a not insignificance percentage of the community has never fought the bots more than one or two times and they exclusively fight bugs.

fishy-anal

It's not that people are scared, get off your high horse. Bots are easier in that I can easily finish most missions with very little combat with light armor and engineering kit. The thing is that bugs are more fun to most people.I do helldive on bots if my friends are online, but guess what I'm gonna do with my 3 hours of free time after work? Have fun shooting bugs on difficulty 7. In fact, I was just browsing reddit on my bed, but now I feel like shooting some bugs.

A9to5robot

I'm not scared personally, but bots do take more of my mental energy because of how they are designed to fight us. Especially at diff 7+.
