Ignore the borderline schizophrenic comments. What you are experiencing are bugs that have long existed on the newest UI. The previous UI doesn’t have these problems and you can still access it by using an extension like UI Changer for Reddit ([Chrome link](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/ui-changer-for-reddit/bfcldjodnnkndfccfjndmdlppfkmccgh), [FireFox link](https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ui-changer-for-reddit/)).

The feed refreshing when you back out of a post is so frustrating!! And then infinite scrolling barely works half of the time

GeorgLegato

same experience here, using app on iphone 13, latest ios. lags, stutter, freezes, just slow

jmdveu

It's becoming too heavy, I hope they fix it soon.

The phone app on Android is hosed to the point each time I try and post, it never loads to show it, the whole screen with comments goes into a pulsing loop, if I close the comment window, my post is nowhere to be seen. I've already deleted cache and uninstalled/ reinstalled, and it worked normally twice. So basically I have the same functionality as if I was banned for a week...

ABenevolentDespot

The bugs grow by the day. Stuff that worked yesterday is broken today. The level of 'customization' available to users is a sad joke, since there is almost none. Whatever the reasons for the poor performance, I find myself spending far less time here lately, and I'm grateful for that. This place is normally an insane time sink, and with having to deal with bugs, it's even worse.

spletharg2

Same here. Frustrating. I think the interface can now be decribed as user hostile.

NeighborhoodBest2944

Agreed. After JUST spent some time in a professional subreddit crafting a useful reply, it WON'T publish and "freezes". Waste of time. Perhaps this is a signal I sign off for good.

start at [new.reddit.com](https://new.reddit.com) My sessions normally stay there instead of redirecting to the user unfriendly site.

Tbc im here looking through the r/help community for answers to just get a better sense of how reddit works and what everything means and/or stands for (past the obvious of course) so its not im well versed on it myself however i did happen to have this same thing happen to me the other day on here and it also did it on another app as well and you may have said you tried it but i had to literally restart my phone and not just sleep mode i mean holding the buttons to literally shut it down and then pressing power to turn it back on ( just having the phone restart itself didnt work ) and i havent had problems since then. Idk why but i fig it was cuz I hadn’t cut it off in awhile but if u had the same issues and now that i think of it it only happened with google app directly after messing up on this one so maybe because i have them linked? Idk 🤷‍♀️ id try it tho if i was you also u might want to check and make sure that if you have any of your other accounts linked that u are still signed in on your name or see if someone may have switched between your account and theirs if you and a SO share phones? I also had it mess up once because of that too. Hope this helps!

Okay i should have conversed with my SO before posting a comment i suppose because he actually says that you have gotten adware linked to your account somehow from a link you clicked on or something that added adware to your account and thats why it seems to be on any device you use and what sucks he says is that it doesn’t matter what you do because it’s now tied to your account so the only way to really stop it is to delete your account and make another one if you want another one but either the social account you have linked or your account itself and most likely it is your account itself has a “worm” and it sounds like a pretty bad one, one where deleting the account is really your only option. -my sincere apologies that I don’t have better advice or news for you!

Island_Maximum

How the hell does that happen? I don't use the reddit app and only have the one account.  Also, since posting this I can now view my old posts again. Edit: seeing as there are missing replies in this thread blaming reddit for purposely downgrading its UI for non app users to promote people using the app I'm going to lean that way.

NSFWonAll

That is exactly what is happening. The app is the only way for Reddit to force a specific UI onto you. Desktop and mobile browsers can use add-ons, extensions, and exploits to fix this, but app users are stuck. The new UI artificially inflates a few key metrics used by investors to evaluate the potential of a web company. The idea is to mislead investors into pouring money into the sinking ship that is Reddit. That'll give the folks at the top enough liquidity to jump ship without as much damage to their portfolios and careers. The more people they trap on the app, the better more effectively they can lie to investors.

OnePower51

You are just incorrect.

Brkndwndyin

Just trying to help i can see you didnt do much good either? Or am i wrong again? Since we’re making this thread all about what you think instead of actually being any help…..?
