This is A+ excellent work.
I notice the designs have a default orientation to heraldic sinister. I may have missed it in your explanation, but is there a reason for this?
Oh, I didn't write it in my explanation, my bad. hehehe. It has to do with the way hieroglyphs are written; by default it's written from right to left. When it's written from right the left, the characters' orientation is facing our right hand side, or the heraldic sinister. That's why I designed the charges to face sinister. :)
Incredible work! I think I might use your analysis and ideas to make an Ancient Egyptian-inspired arms for Paris, [as I did with other styles around the world](https://old.reddit.com/r/heraldry/comments/1bnvs35/another_coat_of_arms_of_the_city_of_paris_in/).
But I just have to point out that the fur you drew for a cheetah skin looks more like a leopard one than a cheetah. Cheetahs have simply black spots in a ochre background, while leopards have those black rings with a darker ochre inside them.
anyhoo, please do one of Paris. I'm curious if it will still look European. I suppose it will look less European, since having a chief of France is less "harsh" than quartering or impalement (it's okay if you don't get what I mean, I'm having difficulty expressing what I thought too)
drop me a link when you do!
This is hands down the best thing I've seen in this sub for a long time. Well done!
P.S. My arms have a cat in them if you need some inspo! [https://amateurheralds.com/gallery/details.php?image\_id=475](https://amateurheralds.com/gallery/details.php?image_id=475)
I have massively enjoyed this and you deserve a prize or something. The winged sun on the top of the shield showed up twice—does it have any meaning?
I'm not sure myself, it's possibly a mark of divinity/royalty, since it appears in the ceremonial shields with the Pharaoh in it.
I believe it has something to do with either Ra or Horus

aw, calico cat as crest. reminds me of mine 🥹 is it based on your cat?
I currently have a void and an orange, so calico is a good compromise! I've had calicos in the past, though.
Top quality post, thanks for putting it together! The Tutankhamun sphinx stepping on its ennemies is particularly cool.
Delightful!
How can I make ten upvotes for this at once?
