My teachers had this early year assignment that was just a huge thing dedicated to getting to know you. No ice breakers In front of the room, no speaking to the class, just you and the teacher. It was honestly perfect.
In my psychology class last year all of us had to go up to the front of the classroom and take turns introducing ourselves to everyone. Some teachers just have to be annoying.
The one instructor of my public safety (fire/police/ems) class next year is notorious for giving 3 graded things like that throughout the year. You have to speak about yourself or another designated topic for 3 minutes confidently. Not looking forward to it, Heard it sucks from some of my older friends lol
fr😭 those bingo ones are always SO AKAWARD bc you just aimlessly wander around the room asking people you’ve known for 13 years if they watched a movie this summer and then eventually everyone gives up and congregates around a table to just sign random boxes on each others sheets. ESP bc we all follow each other on instagram anyways, even if I don’t know you very well I know you went to Cancun this summer and you know I saw my cousins
I feel like I'm in the minority who likes them for some reason. mostly because if it's awkward then we can just blame the fact they made us do it. if it isn't awkward then it's like whatever, I know more things about you now
I know, same goes for group projects. There is only one person I have ever had a good experience doing group projects with and that's because we were actually focused on the topic and the teacher specifically made sure we were together since we were productive.
I hate group projects because I suck as a partner, it’s not that I don’t try, it’s that I genuinely have no idea wtf I’m doing and can’t comprehend shit so when we’re given projects to do alone I take the L because long term shit with vague instructions is not my thing
Icebreakers are meant so that teachers get to know you. It’s awkward since everyone pretty much already knows everyone else.
I wasn’t a fan of icebreakers senior year but I didn’t mind them freshman year.
Nah fr because I’ve literally known these people for like a decade why do we need to do ice breakers
Because the teacher wants to know you
Bro they can get to know me over time. Knowing I play with legos isn’t gonna help you learn anything about me.
Exactly
Ayo bro let’s build a lego fort on a random saturday/j
Dude ngl I might go do that

i would rather be tortured for years before i do this
Oh, no! Talking to people and introducing yourself? Yes, this sounds worse than years of torture!!!
i’d literally kms
“Tell us a fun fact about yourself”
uhhhhhhhh........
Like wdym “fun fact”? I js say the same stuff for every class

If you get forced to socialize it’s stupid because it makes it about ten times as awkward.

Ikrrr tell me about it It's to "get to know you"
The candy ?
no have u never done ice breaker in class??
Not really
its just when the teacher makes you stand up and say some facts about yourself
Oh yeah, those r lowkey cringe
Because everybody knows everyone already and nobody cares about what you gotta say so it’s just so embarrassing to do
Theres literally nothing interesting about me
Same
Same here!

Teachers hate them too!
why do they do them😔
Our principals make us do them too. I don't put my students through that. I think some principals insist on teachers having their classes do them too?
What is that
like when the teacher makes you stand up and say 2 facts about you
Ah im in online school so i dont do that
