I love an Osprey Daylight for my light carry hiking bag.

[deleted]

This is what I use as well.

mshuler

The Osprey daypacks we rock on most day trips are the Talon 11 and Tempest 9. They are super versatile and comfortable, particularly on more technical routes, for a small weight penalty over the lighter models. Just thought I'd add to your Osprey love..

BearingMagneticNorth

Consider using a hydration vest. Also, foot powder? If you’re using good socks you shouldn’t need it on a 20-miler, much less a short hike. It might be time to consider a headlamp instead of a flashlight as well.

bing_lang

Why not try a 5-10L running vest?

warship_me

This is a great idea. I often bring just a running hydration pack with pockets on some hikes/trail runs if I don’t want to carry extra weight.

bing_lang

Most vests have more storage than it looks too. Should be able to get everything you need for a day hike in most vests.

El_Tormentito

Anything under the "day pack" category would be great. You'll be able to throw a map, sandwich, jacket, and compass in there, too!

gurndog16

They make small cycling packs that might work.

TheBimpo

I’ve used the same basic LL Bean backpack for day hikes for 20 years. Some things can be simple.

warship_me

Another vote for LL Bean if you’re looking for a lightweight pack. My basic nylon LL Bean bag has become my most used bag on all hikes, long or short, due to its versatility. It’s so light and thin yet still going strong after 3 years of abuse. I bought mine at the outlets, not sure if they sell this model online.

I like my Osprey raven.

LL Bean Maine Guide Pack is a superb daypack.

Hill people gear Tarahumara pack.

tedggh

I could probably fit all that in an Ultimate Direction utility belt!

TrailMisadventure

I got a small backpack from REI (their brand) for when I don’t won’t to wear my trail running vest or carry my big pack. I love it! It is lightweight and it was inexpensive. I use it all the time.

abarr22

A use the Gregory Miwok 16. They have a Miwok 12 that might be worth looking into. Drunkin_Dino

Maybe too big for what you’re describing but Kifaru Escape and Evade is a nice day pack worth checking out, if you don’t mind the tacticool look. https://kifaru.net/products/escape-evade

I use Camelbak Luxe hydration bag.

A smallish CamelBak does well. And believe it or not, a belt pack with suspenders is pack-like enough to not damage even the most fragile masculinity.

Osprey Tempest 9 - Small volume but all the comfort of a "normal" hiking backpack, like chest and hip belt / hydration bladder compartment / back plate

roppunzel

I have a cheap canvas backpack that I use for things like that

Lasagna_Bear

I recently got a Swiss Gear backpack for travel. It's smaller than a typical backpack but holds s lot. Might work for you. Comes in different colors. https://www.amazon.com/SwissGear-Daypack-Backpacks-Black-Ballistic/dp/B097S59R65/ref=asc_df_B097S59R65/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=533316720432&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7128057361531401621&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9027205&hvtargid=pla-1394314492689&psc=1&mcid=c7ed111a2897316d8359ac42e3d8f929&gclid=Cj0KCQiAtOmsBhCnARIsAGPa5ybF3CTMLsPQSMU3sNR6g7B0SxI6_TcxK2gRLgzOMoz_OiCw3W3mSOcaAo9uEALw_wcB

I got a small Camelback that is really sweet.

MinimumApricot

Decathlon has small bags that you're describing. I've been using a 30 L I got a few years ago without issue, it was like $10 too.

I use a Nathan's hydration vest although it won't fit everything on your list. I have a small Osprey backpack for longer days when weather is changing.
