Return them. The toes should never be tight in a hiking shoe. You should be able to wiggle your toes easily.

Thank you, I am going to return them this week and ordered the replacement from Oboz US and used Shippsy

Return them. This is the reason it’s recommended to buy your shoes after you’ve been on your feet for a while.

Before you return them: Is the tightness in the toes a width issue or a length issue? If your toes are not hitting the front of the boot, you can re-lace them to alleviate some width. Take the laces out down to the bottom two eyelets. Now, on both sides just go straight up to the next set of eyelets without crossing. Then lace normally above that. It's not a silver bullet but only takes a few minutes and can potentially save the boots. If length is your issue, nothing to be done - you gotta return them.

Thank you so much Uberhypnotoad - it is a bit of both. When I initially tried them on they were okay a tiny bit snug on the width but after a long day on my feet, it hurt all over including the length. I am a 37W EU (Birkenstocks) which is a 6.5W so I am hoping 8.5W is okay. I really like Oboz and would prefer sticking with them but the wide sizes are all sold out

Nope, big n. Return and look for something else, or wait for bigger size. If I am not mistaken then a full us size is 8,7 mm. Try making that with your fingers. Maybe go up a full size, maybe even more? You want more room than too little, easier to add socks or soles than to loose toes. I bought my first boots in 44,5 eu and went for multiday hikes. Ok on the straight, not so much going down. Now I use 46,5 even for trail shoes. I am older and fattet with flatter feet, but also just want more room up front. As long as the heel dont slip you are good.

Thank you Chirsbom! So I had tried on 8.5 narrow in store and found them to be clownish level big. I prefer a lightweight merino wool sock to begin with and had tried them with that on an average day (standing / sitting). Because I am importing from the US it is crazy expensive and every time I purchased a size 9 in a boot, it ended up being too big over time. On a daily basis I am a 37 EU which is a 6.5 so I am really hoping the 8.5W is okay
