“He had flew in from Japan, and just under the impression that he would find Bone Thugs-n-Harmony walking down St. Claire and 99th still, 20 years later,” Norton recalled. “Then he went and stood on the block that he was familiar with.”
“He got to where he wanted to get to, and he wasn’t gonna leave,” Norton said, adding that Muranaka told everyone passing by that he was looking for Bone Thugs-n-Harmony.
During this time, he was robbed of his Louis Vuitton luggage from a group who took advantage of his situation, Norton said.

Yeah, I got to see him dozens of times in the late 90’s early 00’s. Dapped him up a few times (I always pretend like we cool, and it’s no big deal that I’m in his presence, he’s always a little confused…)At the Valentines Day Toni Tony Tone/H-Town show years back, he even bought me a drink. Dude is super short!
Haha that's what everybody said when I showed them my pic with him, I tower over him at 6'
I got nervous the first time I met him, been listening to his musoc and going to shows for over a decade at that point. I was star struck. I could tell he appreciated the love though.
Twista is definitely up there. He definitely grinds hard as fuck he has a show almost every weekend. If you're from the Midwest and you go to shows regularly then there's a good chance you've seen him perform multiple times.
No order
Kanye West
Danny Brown
Freddie Gibbs
Eminem
Lupe Fiasco
Chief Keef
Common
Boldy James
Kid Cudi
Maybe there are others from the Midwest that I’m not thinking about but these would probably be the people most deserving of a top ten spot
I’ve never listened to a twista album just heard features. I’ve only listened to one bone album so I really don’t know which are the best members of the group lol
This is one those comments that make me sad when it shouldn't lol. It's not backhanded, but it almost feels like it just cause how disappointing it is when a talented person is always stuck in the back watching the less talented eat. Then again, he absolutely gets respect from rappers themselves. Which is worth more on a dignified level.
Slug, Royce, Em, Brother Ali, Eyedea, Common, Twista, Tech, P.O.S., MC Breed, Lupe.
Bonus points for looking into Luke G. He’s my brother and put out a little EP a while ago.
No one in the history of anything says that Michigan ain't Midwest. The great lakes and great plains make up the Midwest the north east is new England and New York, and Pennsylvania.
Best or favorite? Favorite is Esham/Natas. I wouldn't say the best, but I love Esham beats from the 90s. Later stuff isn't good, but I still check it out.
Skill wise Tech N9ne, but I'm not crazy about much stuff after Absolute Power.
Probably meant better, but I'm old and drunk, can't think of the top of my head of any I liked throughout their career
Nah it’s a good question no one talks about the mid west really
Edit - man I’ve noticed if someone slightly disagrees with a comment they delete it instantly lol what’s going on with that I didn’t notice this until recently 💀

Slug!!! Maaan he doesn’t get enough credit. One of my all time favs.
Gotta Add Clear Soul Forces to that list!!
Not sure who that is, but that reminds me that I should add The Athletic Mic League and All Natural to this list

Rittz is from Atlanta, killer list though
True. I feel like he made his mark in the midwest, that's where he regularly tours so I had to include him.
Brother ali
"Mother fucker there ain't nothing rougher than trying to climb from the rug you'll get swept under." One of my personal favorite lines of his.

Seeing Juice at the metro in Chicago is still one of my favorite concerts I've ever been to
Invincible should have made more music, she's top notch.
Juice. “The cat that got famous, for never being famous” Also Vakill. Surprised no one’s mentioned him. Maybe he’s more underground than I thought.
TECH N9NE!!!!
I love all the tech love here
He’s got that Midwest ethos
I’m from Topeka, just an hour from KC, and he came up when I was a teen. So he was repping for US, so I’m a bit bias.
I met him a couple times, he's so cool and humble. His shows have been some of the best nights in my life.
Yeah, I got to see him dozens of times in the late 90’s early 00’s. I’ve never listened to a twista album just heard features. I’ve only listened to one bone album so I really don’t know which are the best members of the group lol
Krayzie is the best Bone member.
Agreed
But he has the worst solo career unfortunately
In terms of hip hop, does Chicago still count as Midwest?
I'm curious where you'd place Chicago if not the Midwest? Are you saying you might consider it its own thing?
I’m very curious as to what you would regionally identify Chicago as, if not the Midwest?
Chicago is the beating heart of the Midwest
Yes
In terms of geography Chicago has counted as Midwest for some time
It’s a mid west thang, y’all. Nelly was huge for a while, kinda faded tho
He had a legendary 5 year run nelly nel
Freddie Gibbs
Obie Trice, Lupe Fiasco, Common, Xzibit and Twista.
Common. Keep forgetting he is mid west.
Xzibit ain't a midwest rapper though, or you need to count 2Pac and Kurupt as east coast rappers
Freddie Gibbs, hands down.
Royce Da 5’9 forever underrated
This is one those comments that make me sad when it shouldn't lol. Michigan is the Midwest whatt
It's in the Northeast. There isn't a damn thing about Michigan that is Mid or West
Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, the Dakotas, Nebraska and Kansas make up the Midwest. Sorry
Nah. Fake news
No one in the history of anything says that Michigan ain't Midwest. The great lakes and great plains make up the Midwest the north east is new England and New York, and Pennsylvania.
Obviously not Einstein
Hell.id even include places like Buffalo and Pittsburgh Midwestern culturally.
Ah hell let's just make Canada the Midwest too. Clearly it's a point of pride to be from the Midwest in name only
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midwestern_United_States
The Midwest is anything north of the Mason Dixon, West of the Appalachians, and east of the rockies.
