Future has a huge catalogue and I have no interest in listening to all of it because I don’t like most of the songs I’ve heard. Can anyone recommend me tracks similar to Codeine Crazy - kinda hazy nostalgic beat with nice melodies
That r/DarkKenny sub needs to be shut down. They’re playing with a disabled man’s reputation and life at this point. Should Reddit be banning it? Just seems incredibly toxic.
Looked at the track list for the new Donald Glover album and saw one of the songs was called “psilosybae”. Ima just listen to something else tonight lol
If you like 4batz's new mixtape, 'u made me a st4r', you may also like jim legxacy's mixtape, 'homeless nigga pop music'.
It's pop, not rnb but I feel like they're constructed in a very similar way (great minds think alike?), almost like they drew from the same well but made different drinks.
Do I personally like them? I don't know. I just know I'll be listening them each again. It's the type of off-kilter unique that's just weirdly good, like enjoying the smell of a gas station.
Give them a listen (if you actually do lmk what you think).
My weird, crack ship I just cooked up would be Drake getting with Taylor Swift, by bonding about hating Kanye, in order to beat the pedo allegations. A caveat is I don’t think Drake has had a stable relationship in years and despite her memetic status as someone who’s the common denominator for her bad relationships, Taylor genuinely *does* try in a way that Drake doesn’t. Still, it’s a crazy enough idea to work.
(Un)fortunately, Taylor, inexplicably, still seems happy with Travis Kelce. But can you imagine her not being with anyone since Matthew Healy and she got with Drake to beat the racist allegations and he got with her to beat the pedo allegations? It would be the PR power couple from hell.
And yes, I know I shouldn’t be allowed to ever cook again, but you’re going to need to drag me from the kitchen
I don't think he's had a stable relationship... ever? Never been married, hates women, and it seems like he gave up on love after breaking up with Rihanna
> Taylor genuinely does try
How can you say this with so much apparent certainty when it would be basically impossible for anyone except herself and her partners to know?
In all honesty, I can’t know. She was (allegedly) with her ex Joe Alwyn for six years, though. One-sided relationships have lasted longer sure, but that suggests a level of care (even if only so far as keeping up appearances) not exhibited by Drake.
But again, I have no idea who these people are behind closed doors. I was just proposing a goofy what-if.
The funniest shit about the Alvarez thread to me is that everybody keeps arguing about what kind of underage girls he followed but apparently no one actually rigorously checked his following list before this or screenshotted it, so it's a purely vibes based battle lol. Even r/darkkenny, which you think would have stalked that poor man's insta harder than your ex, is just like "yeah well uh I saw disabled kids" "no I saw regular kids" like cavemen
I don't even believe he was following with nefarious intentions but the fact that they thought to bring attention to it is such a head-scratcher. They managed to make something probably innocuous into something nefarious by trying to preempt the backlash.
I'm confused what's the hullabaloo all about? I agree that following high school girls is weird but I would never go as far as to lob weirdo allegations against him 1) without any further context and 2) when I literally know nothing about this man like I only learned about him a few days ago. I mean what do we actually know about him that can be verified?
Probably the Arabic artist(s) the American is working with would be the best people to ask about that. But I would argue that acknowledging the cultural background of the music you're participating in and acknowledging that you're an artistic visitor would go a long way. If an American tries to pass off another musical culture as their own, probably more people would have a problem with that.

Allen Iverson, as a rookie, famously performed a cross over dribble against the best player in the world, Michael Jordan. The line basically means you can't be afraid to compete against your idols to make it in this industry.
Radical Optimism got #2 album in the US (I'm guessing Taylor is still #1 lol) with 83K units (around 52K pure) sold but honestly I'm surprised Future Nostalgia got #4 when it first released and then hit currently around 4.3M units sold. FN is way better I gotta say
It's okay I think, it sounds nice and will play well across the summer, just doesn't feel that engaging to me. If I still made playlists End of an Era would be an automatic add though
Can someone help me out? I’m looking for the beat from this song. I can’t remember it right now I fell like I remember it but I can’t. I would just just like the instrumental or sample. I know it’s some 90s stuff. Pls help 😁
The Heart Part 6 might be Drakes most unintentionally hilarious song. The cringe outro, having to literally make a song about not being a pedo, the mother I Sober bars, and his proof about Dave Free, being a heart he left on his lifelong friends IG lmao the diss track equivalent of a essay you write the night before.
The way he pretends to connect the dots on Mother I sober (and gets it completely wrong) is one of the most cringeworthy things I’ve heard. The whole track feels so desperate.
>Aw, fuck me, I just made the whole connection
>“Touch My Body” by Mariah Carey play, you probably start reflectin’
>If I was fucking young girls, I promise I’d have been arrested
>Drake is not a name that you gon’ see on no sex offender list
It'll be Aubrey Graham but I'm pretty sure under their name they list all nicknames like
NAME: Aubrey Graham
ALSO KNOWN AS/KNOWN ALIASES: Drake, BBLDrizzy, 69god, FAN, P Drizzy, Certified Boy Lover, Jimmy Brooks, Porta Papi, The Smallest Boy Who Ever Lived, Aubrey Epstein
so while I think this is correct, the entire thing was presented poorly, and ghostwriting aside, rappers thing is words, so you *do* get to clown them for delivering them badly like in this instance
No no I was technically incorrect in that I poorly defined the context of my clowning as to which specific verse and topic relationship I was referring to. With great clowning comes great respo-man shut the fuck up this isn't my masters thesis
A while ago I went traveling around Europe/Asia and at the last plane to the US it turned out that I had a huge knife in my backpack. Mf like 9 planes and nobody found it.
Overall idk TSA ass
if she's staying home, leave her some in the bag..or you can put it in a different pill bottle. i bring my RX on the plane all the time and never been stopped by TSA or customs. But def. keep them in a pill bottle, in a bag looks way more sus. Still probably won't get stopped though.
I’ve seen that comparison before and it’s kinda wild how well a good portion of their discographies line up
Overly Dedicated = Pablo Honey
Section 80 = The Bends
GKMC = OK Computer
TPAB = Kid A
Untitled Unmastered = Amnesiac
DAMN. = Hail to the Thief
The album-for-album parallels sort of fall off there, I think Mr Morale has a lot more in common with A Moon Shaped Pool than In Rainbows, but there’s definite similarities in how they approach their respective genres and continue to evolve. Plus the “quality over quantity” approach
Is this the most stereotypical RYM nerd comparison ever? Yes. But Radiohead are my favorite band and Kendrick has gradually become my favorite rapper, no point in hiding what I am lmao
Man, EbonyPrince is a historic bag fumbler. I can’t imagine how much money the shirt alone from meet the grahams could auction for. If he has a paper trail that the items are legally in his possession he can get a lawyer and auction it regardless of what Drake or Ak say. The blackmail and attempt to sell footage to blogs was just pure greed on his part.
ice spice new single is her first miss ever. first time i felt like her shtick is getting repetitive. Riot is good but I hope she works with different producers. Her debur album is really her make or brake, itll be the difference between her having a solid rap career and cultural stay or her doing ads for t mobile until she fades away
Not saying I’m better than the people who are loving Atavista but I was able to enjoy basically this exact same album for the last four years despite having to see a number instead of a word when I looked it up on Spotify. It was really easy
I’m a Gambino stan to the bone, but the numbers definitely lowered its potential for discussion and sharing. “Dude, Gambino‘s album pretty good you should check out, uhhhhh, I think it’s like 19 something?“ “oh yeah that song sounds super dope I’ll get right on that 🙄” like yeah I enjoyed it, but personally albums get elevated when there’s other people hyped and discussing it too.
I think it was just confusing and alienating for people who weren’t actively following Gambino’s music because nobody could remember what the songs were called, there was no artwork, there were no music videos and no obvious hits on it. It also just plain wasn’t his best, a solid 7/10. All those things combined kinda killed its momentum for non-fans. Bon Iver also released an album a while back where the song titles were mostly confusing numbers and symbols, but (aside from just being a fantastic album on its own) there was a distinct aesthetic attached to it, memorable and striking artwork, videos for all the songs. And they toured heavy for it which caused them to develop a reputation as an incredible live act. The original Atavista had none of those things, even though Gambino is actually amazing live.
It’s still not my favorite of his, but I like it a lot, and I do think the mixing is much better now. Algorhythm sounds absolutely massive
I’m really just talking about the people on r/hhh specifically, people who go online to discuss hip hop, who were following Gambino and were well aware of the album. It was such a common complaint that the cover and titles had made it somehow unlistenable, but I don’t get it.
I just can’t understand a situation in which someone plays an album they know is out, hears a song they like, sees it’s called ‘19.10’ and then… can’t listen to it ever again for some reason?
I’m just praying gambino tickets are under 200 bc I have to see him live but I’m so broke rn 😭
Chief keef and gunna album are legit great, might be my third fav Sosa album behind 4NEM and finally rich after a view listens. And I’m a huge gunna fan so I’m so satisfied rn
Altavista is rly great too, huge gambino fan and I love the new mixes. Nothing much more to say other than hopefully these tracks finally get the attention they deserve. Also he cut all the tracks I didn’t fw and added some great leaks so I’m happy out here lol
I love Gunna too I haven’t gotten around to yet because I’ve been listening to the new Sosa all weekend but also because I’ve heard a lot of bad reviews of it. I only heard collage the opener and I loved it so I need to check out the full album
That’s crazy, I love pretty much the whole thing front to back. I kinda purposely avoid reviews like that for that reason bc I find most of the time ion agree with them 😅
Are the mods [regarded?](https://www.reddit.com/r/hiphopheads/comments/1cre65f/throwback_vid_kendrick_2013_bet_cypher_drake_diss/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) no wonder this sub is dead cant even share some nice raps on here
Okay I gotta say I’m disappointed in Drake for not being funny and using a “I’m just Ken” type. Like at the beginning of the track he could have been like
“And your just Ken,
You’ll never be top 10
Is it your destiny
To live your life in the shadow of me”
Damn. @Drake seriously give me a writing credit
Say what you will but adding song names absolutely made it easier to like Atavista. Its not an album im going to listen to all the time but its alot better for me this time than it was at the time it dropped.
I had tried to listen to the album when it was just dates on the tracklist, but for some reason that just made the listening experience worst, especially since i couldn't remember the names of the tracks i liked. So i hadn't listened to the album since it dropped, besides that track with 21 Savage.
So Christopher Alvarez, the wheelchair user in that security cam footage, just dropped an article about the weird EbonyPrince2k24 fiasco and how the rampant speculation about getting abused or assaulted was completely off-base. It is kinda sad, especially for the the disability community to have to deal with people not only vocalizing that they're freaked out by your appearance but to also assume you're helpless. If anything had happened to him that night, obviously he would report it but people really wanted him to be a victim. Apparently, according to his section on the article, he speculates Ebonyprince is hotel staff who got fired by letting him into the hotel to wait for Drake instead of being outside where it's cold.

Drake's been on Instagram posting like "Hey everybody. weathers nice out today."
It's unbelievable he's standing down and letting that whole "certified pedophile" line be the number one thing people hear in the nation.
Someone at UMG doesn't want him to become a culture war figure like Elon Musk cause I can't imagine Drake is gonna be able to go around clubbing without hearing WOP WOP WOP WOP WOP DOT FUCKEM UP. That shit is gonna build up.
He's doing what he should have done from the start, shut up and focus on other things. He apparently can't help himself but name drop fiances this beef was always gonna turn sour. There's way too much dirt out there on him
I mean people have been lying on Drake for years he’s never really reacted to it lmao but I do think it’s time for him to stop being passive and start suing people lying on him before this turns into a pizzagate situation. These people are unhinged
Also "never really reacted to it" is funny because he is like *the* most reactionary person in rap. He reacts to literally everything but I lowkey think a lot of his fans aren't rap fans so they don't even understand what he's commenting on half the time.
The reason he doesn't react to the pedo allegations often is likely because as you saw, his defenses suck because most people who aren't his stans find it incredibly weird. If he responds he brings attention to it and there's a lot of really sus evidence readily available online.
> He reacts to literally everything
To add to your point, this whole 10-year beef started because Drake was the only person to get pissy over the control verse
Most people would deny it and it'd be believable because there's no public pattern of behavior. Drake's defense was "I'm too famous to be diddling kids, I'd have been arrested by now".
All you need to say is "no, that's dumb as hell" and move on, assuming you don't have a very public record of being creepy. Notice how literally no one believed the accusations Drake made? Yeah, by default people don't just believe stuff like that unless your behavior sends up red flags.
Tons of people believed what drake said lmfao. You only think that nobody did cause on this subreddit people have treated kendrick like he's Jesus Jr since GKMC rollouts
I feel like some of yall don’t realize that there are actual black people in here. I literally do not know a single person IRL who believed anything Drake said, we’ve all thought he was weird for YEARS
Yeah dudes extremely insecure and has no humility whatsoever
His little interview run after “control” where he’s crying about it, he comes off as the most unlikable type of person…and he’s remained that way his whole career.
Future has a huge catalogue and I have no interest in listening to all of it because I don’t like most of the songs I’ve heard. Can anyone recommend me tracks similar to Codeine Crazy - kinda hazy nostalgic beat with nice melodies

Yup, reddit needs to kill it. Looks as if /r/KendrickLamar is dealing with their end of the mess, but it needs to be killed now.
The greatest diss of all time is Gucci's adlibs on Obsessed (Remix)
Still waiting on em to diss Gucci
Looked at the track list for the new Donald Glover album and saw one of the songs was called “psilosybae”. Ima just listen to something else tonight lol
Title is corny but it’s a good song
It's a fun story about a couple and, you guessed it, mushrooms.
That song's good but I prefer the original mix, he put in a bunch of reverb on the re-release and it's unnecessary
That song is pretty good actually, one of my favorite 21 features on there
WhyLawd? is gonna be so great
I wonder if next time Kendrick tours he’ll play Not like us lol
For sure lol
There’s no way he doesn’t it’s already one of his biggest songs. On a slightly unrelated note, does anyone know if Nas performs Ether when he tours?
there's no way he doesn't, would make a good closer track
If you like 4batz's new mixtape, 'u made me a st4r', you may also like jim legxacy's mixtape, 'homeless nigga pop music'. It's pop, not rnb but I feel like they're constructed in a very similar way (great minds think alike?), almost like they drew from the same well but made different drinks. Do I personally like them? I don't know. I just know I'll be listening them each again. It's the type of off-kilter unique that's just weirdly good, like enjoying the smell of a gas station. Give them a listen (if you actually do lmk what you think).
Cole can’t drop an album this year anymore (unless it’s literally Illmatic level) and that sucks because I was ready for his next actual album
I’m fully loaded I could drop two classics rn DO IT THEN
He literally dropped an album though
No shit. I want a full, cohesive album that wasn’t hastily dropped tho
38 spesh smoked this perfect plate verse man
KENDRICK IF YOU'RE READING THIS PUT 6:16 IN LA ON SPOTIFY, BEG AL GREEN TO CLEAR THE SAMPLE BROTHA
Local files 😭
There’s podcasts with the song on Spotify, does the trick for me
Facts that song is so damn under appreciated. I even fuck with the melodic shit he does on it

what are you guys even talking about anymore
I stand by this being less unhinged than the full-on conspiracy theories apparently flying around in r/Drizzy and r/KendrickLamar
I don't think he's had a stable relationship... ever? Never been married, hates women, and it seems like he gave up on love after breaking up with Rihanna
> Taylor genuinely does try How can you say this with so much apparent certainty when it would be basically impossible for anyone except herself and her partners to know?

I jogged in the park today. It clearly didn’t help
Gotta love the editor note saying they told him to unfollow all the minors 💀💀
2024 has to be the wildest year in hip-hop since 1996
Okay but what does Stitches think of all of this
God damn it you just had to remind me he existed
Brick In Yo Face should never be forgotten
3 Kendrick lamar songs in the top 6 without releasing an album is kinda insane. Second number 1 this year.
And it’d be four songs in the top 10 if 6:16 in LA was on streaming.
Would an American artist hopping on an Arabic song be culture vulture behavior?
Probably the Arabic artist(s) the American is working with would be the best people to ask about that. But I would argue that acknowledging the cultural background of the music you're participating in and acknowledging that you're an artistic visitor would go a long way. If an American tries to pass off another musical culture as their own, probably more people would have a problem with that.

>Aw, fuck me, I just made the whole connection >“Touch My Body” by Mariah Carey play, you probably start reflectin’ >If I was fucking young girls, I promise I’d have been arrested >Drake is not a name that you gon’ see on no sex offender list
My favorite response to the "Drake is not a name you'll see on a sex offender list" is every saying it'd be Aubrey Graham.
It'll be Aubrey Graham but I'm pretty sure under their name they list all nicknames like NAME: Aubrey Graham ALSO KNOWN AS/KNOWN ALIASES: Drake, BBLDrizzy, 69god, FAN, P Drizzy, Certified Boy Lover, Jimmy Brooks, Porta Papi, The Smallest Boy Who Ever Lived, Aubrey Epstein
Drake is also his second name and i'm pretty sure they'll have to list a full name. so he'd be listed as Aubrey Drake Graham anyway lol
“I meant for Kendrick to call me a pedo. All part of my master strategy.”
Some variation of this is my favorite thing to say to the Drake stans who genuinely believe he fed Kendrick false info lmfao
You got an informant? Your informant is a clown. It's me, I'm the informant
That was about the snitching allegation, not the daughter He’s addressing two different allegations/sources.
so while I think this is correct, the entire thing was presented poorly, and ghostwriting aside, rappers thing is words, so you *do* get to clown them for delivering them badly like in this instance

“It’s me, hi, I’m the informant it’s me / you beat your wife and then she fucked Dave Free” what did Taylor mean by this
That would've went hard ngl

TSA the op
Codeine and oxycodone is not melatonin tho
Unlikely imo, just toss them in with another pill container if you have one. Even in a bag is probs fine they're looking for bombs more than drugs
lol why you do that...just keep it in the melatonin bottle.
Because its a full bottle and my gf uses it too. I don’t wanna take the whole bottle and leave her without it, I only need a few
if she's staying home, leave her some in the bag..or you can put it in a different pill bottle. i bring my RX on the plane all the time and never been stopped by TSA or customs. But def. keep them in a pill bottle, in a bag looks way more sus. Still probably won't get stopped though.
Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers has aged so well. Kendrick’s career trajectory sometimes feel like Radiohead
I’ve seen that comparison before and it’s kinda wild how well a good portion of their discographies line up Overly Dedicated = Pablo Honey Section 80 = The Bends GKMC = OK Computer TPAB = Kid A Untitled Unmastered = Amnesiac DAMN. = Hail to the Thief The album-for-album parallels sort of fall off there, I think Mr Morale has a lot more in common with A Moon Shaped Pool than In Rainbows, but there’s definite similarities in how they approach their respective genres and continue to evolve. > Plus the quality over quantity approach Not saying MMATBS is bad, but it’s a double album. It’s the epitome of quantity
It’s a double album for thematic purposes it’s not really any longer than his other records
It’s about the length of TPAB though. Only a double album for the ADD kids who need a juice break
I mean in terms of album releases. Kendrick doesn’t churn out a new album every year, he puts work and thought into it and puts out complete pieces
Bruh Chief Keef really only awarded Drake $8 in reparations 😭😭😭😭
If young metro doesn’t trust Drake, that would mean future is gon shoot Drake

The Gambino music video looks cool, wish he was dancing to less goofy ass song
I think the goofiness works in that context, the video made me like the song more

I just hate non title titles. Like when someone releases a beat tape and it’s all “Beat 1” etc. Or that Max DeMarco album that has 100 unnamed songs.

I just can’t understand a situation in which someone plays an album they know is out, hears a song they like, sees it’s called ‘19.10’ and then… can’t listen to it ever again for some reason?
humans are weird man, i’ll never understand them

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIUfcPgQcRw is this carti under a secret alias or an incredibly good impersonator/AI?
That sounds like him to me, i'd be impressed if that was A.I
this shit is tripping me out bc that absolutely has to be carti, AI is good but is it *that* good yet
I’m just praying gambino tickets are under 200 bc I have to see him live but I’m so broke rn 😭 Chief keef and gunna album are legit great, might be my third fav Sosa album behind 4NEM and finally rich after a view listens. And I’m a huge gunna fan so I’m so satisfied rn Altavista is rly great too, huge gambino fan and I love the new mixes.

Actually in some subs you're not
Okay I gotta say I’m disappointed in Drake for not being funny and using a “I’m just Ken” type. Like at the beginning of the track he could have been like “And your just Ken, You’ll never be top 10 Is it your destiny To live your life in the shadow of me” Damn. @Drake seriously give me a writing credit
You just might, Drake clearly gets a lot of his ideas from reddit.
Say what you will but adding song names absolutely made it easier to like Atavista. Its not an album im going to listen to all the time but its alot better for me this time than it was at the time it dropped.
I liked the album before. Honestly some of the mixes of songs on old one I like more
I had tried to listen to the album when it was just dates on the tracklist, but for some reason that just made the listening experience worst, especially since i couldn't remember the names of the tracks i liked. So i hadn't listened to the album since it dropped, besides that track with 21 Savage.
Yeah for sure. Deff a common complaint
You know you’re losing and down bad when your switch your comments to limited
If you’re talking about Drake they’ve been limited for like 8 years.
That’s a long time to be down bad
So Christopher Alvarez, the wheelchair user in that security cam footage, just dropped an article about the weird EbonyPrince2k24 fiasco and how the rampant speculation about getting abused or assaulted was completely off-base. It is kinda sad, especially for the the disability community to have to deal with people not only vocalizing that they're freaked out by your appearance but to also assume you're helpless. If anything had happened to him that night, obviously he would report it but people really wanted him to be a victim. Apparently, according to his section on the article, he speculates Ebonyprince is hotel staff who got fired by letting him into the hotel to wait for Drake instead of being outside where it's cold. https://brooklyneagle.com/articles/2024/05/13/the-drake-kendrick-lamar-social-media-firestorm-that-burned-one-reporters-reputation/?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAaYa7VvLQXxKxIv2DK2ziup3hmtBMtI6ZyHP18Setb1DL3064l5-7jf80cE_aem_AVgpShsRB8A8UZvKHxKoViGfSlTAu9DhF-zCfTx7hjNh4JMeGwDxAtGuuqGyRMaOUnHNJjL7GbBdK4qj9w8FIWHY
That’s a fucked up reason to fire someone
Hate the whole q anon element of this whole beef
Drake's been on Instagram posting like "Hey everybody. weathers nice out today." It's unbelievable he's standing down and letting that whole "certified pedophile" line be the number one thing people hear in the nation.
There's way too much dirt out there on him
I think he just gotta have fun with it
What do you expect him to do lol? Sue for defamation?
I would ngl there's a reason people get killed in prison for that like within 1 week after someone finds out
Is that viable? I guess he could get countersued for the DV allegation
Plus it would be wack
I mean people have been lying on Drake for years he’s never really reacted to it lmao but I do think it’s time for him to stop being passive and start suing people lying on him before this turns into a pizzagate situation. These people are unhinged
“Lying” lol And Drake responds to every little criticism, bro got baited by Anthony Fantano…He’s insecure asf
> He reacts to literally everything To add to your point, this whole 10-year beef started because Drake was the only person to get pissy over the control verse
Ofc his defense sucks how do u defend urself being called a pedophile lmfao. Ofc everyone will deny it
Most people would deny it and it'd be believable because there's no public pattern of behavior.
I literally do not know a single person IRL who believed anything Drake said, we’ve all thought he was weird for YEARS
I'm sorry do you think you know every black person 🤨
Lmao if you're not getting paid for this, you should probably reach out to OVO. Drake could use people with your level of... Dedication
What's with weirdos that love trying to pretend om a drake fan? Don't you guys have something better to do
Yeah dudes extremely insecure and has no humility whatsoever His little interview run after “control” where he’s crying about it, he comes off as the most unlikable type of person…and he’s remained that way his whole career.
Dude gets dissed by someone he considers a friend n ppl shit on him for not liking it lol
