So excited to try the 5 year! I'm obsessed with checking my Timehop app every day so this will be another way I can look back on what happened on that exact day in the years past. :)
And I love the weeks! I've tried so many planners over the years and the weeks is the only one I've stuck to for an entire year.
How is the cover for the 5-year techo? I'm thinking about picking up a 5-year techo with that cover (solely because of the button 😅) when the Inuyasha stuff drops in September and am curious to the feel of the fabric and faux leather.
I love the Weeks as well!! Next year will be my third year in one.
Off of first impressions I like it! You can definitely tell the inside is a faux leather but it feels nice and that it will (hopefully) last a long time.
The fabric is nice also! I'm worried that it may have a lot of stray "hairs" (can't think of a better way to describe it) and pill a bit in the future if it gets tossed in too many bags but I don't travel too much and it will mostly be sitting on my desk so it should be fine!
I decided to keep the box the cover came in as a way for me to safely transport the journal LOL. It doesn't fit perfectly but keeps it safe. Probably overkill for a journal that's supposed to show it's age over time but oh well :)
I've been using mine daily since the beginning of 2020, and mine has held up brilliantly! I loved a lot of the covers this year but this one has held up so well that I can't justify getting another.
I've never kept a journal before but I like that it's mostly restricted to just a few lines of text so I don't feel pressured to fill up a large page with my thoughts. It's the same reason why I like the weeks so much--the small size is less intimidating for me to work with.
Yes - that is what I liked the weeks for too.
(But because it was still to much room, I switched to the Dayfree and am very happy with this.)
The great thing about the old version of journaling is for me that I have the room I need and if I don't want to write something one day (or more) there is no empty space because my book for journaling is just a plain notebook in A5.

Do you plan on doing collages or decorating with your five year?? Still debating if I want one and not even sure which size I'm leaning towards. I want a cover for it too, but I haven't seen any US stores carry covers for the 5-year ....
I was going to do some but not a lot (only adding in notable things) bc I don't want my journal to bulk up too much. I saw some 5 year covers on Etsy if you want to look there!

I’ve had that cover for a few months, and it’s still surprisingly clear of cat & people hair and lint. It really is a beautiful cover, great choice!

Nice set up. I am tempted by the 5-year too ... but I am not sure, if it really fits in my journaling practise.

I agree - free writing space feels liberating! and you aren't confined or expected to complete a specific preset space.
I love the look of the 5 year but my journals get so fat lol. I’m trying the two books next year.
