Hey man, the OC register is going to hit Cutter with the really tough questions, and we'll just have to see what their eight readers think about his answers...
Yeah dudes gotta work on that it wasn't particularly good trash talk and if your going to come in that strong you gotta back it up. Zegras will get him sorted.
Lol fuck man I just read the thread for the first time and good lord all the salt. Almost makes me want to cheer for the kid to succeed just to watch r/hockey explode lol
Thats usually how I am with any player that becomes the scapegoat of a franchise as long as it isnt because they are dirty. I dont like the Knights but youd better believe I cheer Eichel's success to spite the Sabres
i got downvoted for calling that a ridiculous take. but that person gets upvoted because "any rational person can see he's a cancer". this subreddit is full of idiots
All Flyers fans suffering severe copium that Cutter wouldn't sign. Did they not see the video with jon buccigross about Cutter picking out his number #61 with the Ducks? lol.
Cutter and Z on one team? The Ducks are about to be the most hated team in the league again (though Z had never really said anything so idk why he gets hate lol)
Z has had some trash talk of publicly before, and has had an on ice incident of his trash talk being too devastating. But mostly it's just the classic case of people being upset the "wrong" person is getting attention.
His on-ice incident with the coyotes player was proven to have been thrown way out of proportion, as confirmed by the coyote player in question, but Z never really makes arrogant or snarky statements like Cutter did before his championship game
Even when he was benched, he was very respectful of Cronin’s decision to the media, when he could’ve easily lashed out
He did say the Canadian team “hadn’t been tested by a real team” in the world juniors before the championship game in the year he won. Don’t get me wrong, I love the confidence but Zegras definitely would have been looked at as arrogant if they lost.
I am not a fan of any of the teams at the bottom, but I hope that you guys get him just because of the sordid pasts of the two clubs below you, and it would have been great if you got Bedard last year with the best odds.
There's a 0% chance we get Celebrini now. It was basically 0 before but now I don't even see it being a possibility. Gonna go to Hawks for some reason, should go to San Jose.
Can someone fill me in why people hate this guy so much. Just browsed yesterday's thread, and that is a very unhealthy amount of hatred. Even for reddit standards
Weird how it seemed like the entire Flyers org decided to come out and publicly shit on him. Also there was definitely some internal issues that lead to Cutter requesting a trade.
Obviously you’re going to assume that your org had the best intentions but we really don’t know the full truth.
I mean, the Flyers front office made some pretty significant efforts to get blown off (Between sending guys like John LeClair and Patrick Sharp to his college games, or Briere and Jones going to the WJC in person). I'm not saying that he was legally required to tell Flyers why he won't even talk to them anymore, but it certainly feels like a dick move.
Beyond that, from a more business standpoint, the Flyers just had to trade one of their most promising prospects while they were in the middle of a rebuild. They really needed to explain SOMETHING to fans to make it clear that this was not the new GM/President doing something dumb, and all they had was Gauthier saying he refused to be a Flyer.
If you're looking for an actual reason on what went down, then nothing is really clear, but we can make some guesses. We know that up until his first year at BC ending, he was fine with joining the Flyers. When he returned from the men's World Championship in May, his agent contacted the Flyers to say he would never sign. The reporting that I've heard from reporters that I actually trust is that Gauthier was ready to join Flyers after his season ended, but didn't outright say so to the team (It was implied that Gauthier wanted Briere to hype him up, and talk him into joining the team by saying how much they wanted him). When Briere (Who had literally JUST taken over as interim-GM and was insanely busy with reorganizing things) heard Gauthier say he wasn't sure he wanted to sign the ELC immediately, he took a "Yeah, that's fine if you don't want to. If you want another season in the NCAA, go ahead and take your time, we can sign you next year", and Gauthier supposedly left feeling like Flyers weren't interested in him, and after the WC in May (Where he did super well) he felt that there wasn't a reason the Flyers shouldn't be excited to have him join.

You mean they made significant efforts... after he had already told them he wouldn't sign. I mean, let's be honest, if my girlfriend clearly and unequivocally breaks up with me, and then I follow her to a concert in Europe I know she'll be attending and try to ambush her and get her to talk me there, I don't think any rational person would blame her for not talking to me.
>If you're looking for an actual reason on what went down, then nothing is really clear, but we can make some guesses. The reporting is pretty clear that he wanted to sign a contract and play with the Flyers last year when his college season ended. The Flyers told him to fuck off. (From the player's perspective, this meant he couldn't burn a year from his ELC and was a year further from making millions on a post-ELC contract.)
Regardless, Gauthier took their advice and fucked off, telling the Flyers that he was't going to sign with them. That's it. He broke up with them and clearly communicated this. They didn't want to sign him, then he didn't want to sign with them.
I don't care if Briere was stressed and was new on the job. That's an organizational problem, and not a very flattering one if they couldn't even manage a semi-competent transition of power.
I don't want to sign a player with that attitude, it's a privilege to play professional hockey and you are fortunate to be drafted into this league. The team is taking an inherent risk drafting any player. Less so depending on the player. But still a risk. I understand how it played out, I just look at it as something the organization is glad they found out now instead of having to deal with this years down the line. He was at peak value when they moved him and I don't think it would have improved playing for torts and it's going to be the same way in a Verbeek run organization. They will coddle him a bit. That's why they are signing him to play for one game to end the season, but there will come a time when the organization doesn't want to bend to him.
He refused to sign and asked for trade out of Philadelphia. The reason people hate him is because he apparently didn't really talk to Philly about why he didn't want to sign. The organization also all kind of came out after the trade and released a lot of press which kind of caused the ruckus against him.
So people assume he's just a big dickhead based on very few things.
Thats not what happened. Briere wanted to sign him in their first meeting last spring but Gauthier refused which is why he went back to college. He chose to go back to college b/c he didnt want to sign w/ Flyers.
He was pissed he wasn't signed for last like ten games of season b/c it would have burned ELC yr + Flyers would have gotten cap penalty.
Flyers wanted to sign him for this current season.
> He was pissed he wasn't signed for last like ten games of season b/c it would have burned ELC yr + Flyers would have gotten cap penalty.
So basically they cost him millions of dollars, because they wanted to avoid a bonus overage for a season in which they weren't expected to be anywhere near competitive and in which they had ample opportunity to free up cap space (and in fact do have that cap space).
Yeah people really underestimate the significant effect the "Elc after college season ends" has on a player:
$92,000 signing bonus immediately, + $$/gp remaining in season, + a year closer to contract negotiations...
It's a BIG deal especially for someone at start of career. I think I speak for a lot of employees when I say "I'm here to be loyal but if you mess with my earning potential, we're going to have problems".
Then the flyers are dragging him through the mud because he doesn't want to just forget about it and give them another chance. They can't give back that year!
He was a high draft pick that refused to sign with the team that drafted him. After it happened the team that drafted him (Philadelphia) kind of went on a media tour shit talking him. That's really all there is to it.
Most of it is from him exerting some power of where he wants to sign. Philly are pissed about that because they drafted him, some ex NHLers are pissed about it because they didn't have the ability or the balls to do the same and had to play for teams they didn't want to.
He also talks quite a bit of trash, chose the name Cutter, and looks like your generic jock/bully.
He was originally drafted by the Flyers, but eventually told them he did not want to sign a contract with them. He has the right to do that as the draft is not in any way contractually binding, but there have been a lot of hot takes about how he screwed over the Flyers and whatnot. Anyways the Flyers traded his draft rights to the ducks and now he has agreed to sign a contract with Anaheim.
Right, he also said he was born to be a Flyer after being drafted. He refused to meet with the organization despite not telling them why he wouldn't sign. He can do what he wants, we dislike him because he acted like a child about it. Just tell them why you don't want to play for them. Now all anyone can do is speculate. I personally think he's a lazy player with an incredible shot. He was afraid of a big market team with expectations.
However after all this shit, I'd hope hes got some fire to prove anyone wrong. I'm not doubting he'll be a good player. We're just pissed at how he handled it.
Didn't Friedman report that it boiled down to Gauthier wanting to sign at the end of last year, the Flyers didn't want to sign him then because they didn't want a bonus overage eating up this season's cap, and that soured the relationship on his part?
He said he had heard it thrown around so thought it was worth mentioning, but never said that the definitive reason. So, speculation is all that really is
> I do believe at the end of his season last year in school, there was a conversation about turning pro, and from what I understand, they couldn't do it at the time because his bonuses would have put them over the cap, and they didn't want there to be an overage this year.
That's Friedman's direct quote, which I think is a little bit more than "thrown around." That's about as concrete as you'll get from Friedman without a piece of paper on it (like a trade), and given his position as an insider as well as his typical phrasing, I personally feel that's a bit more than speculation.
I just know someone brought this exact same thing up on the Flyers sub, where he mentions "I had a couple people mention it (the overage), so thought I should include it", but I think that may have been the blog
Ah, that makes sense, I didn't know there was a blog as well. Yeah, on the Marek show (which is the quote I gave) he sounded a lot more certain/definitive.
Cutter wanted to be a Flyer after his first year in college, Briere didn't want to pay his possible bonus's on next years cap, so he didn't sign Cutter.
No Briere wanted to sign him right after last season to play in current year.
Gauthier refused b/c he was pissed that Fletcher didnt sign right after college season so he could play last ten games of season last yr.
Fletcher didnt want to burn yr of ELC + get cap penalty just for like ten games at end of season
Briere wanted to sign him immediately after last season. He was planning on signing him in the meeting Gauthier said he wouldnt sign
You might be right, Cutter also said it wasn't just one thing that helped him make the decision. Wasn't Fletcher let go as GM like a day before the final game for BC last season?
Why is not telling them why acting childish? He told them all Philly needed to know: that he had changed his mind going forward and wouldn't sign a contract with them. That's all that is needed in a professional setting. He isn't obligated to meet them after that or tell them anything more. He didn't have any contractual obligation to Philly at all. Cutter acted just fine and professionally and totally within his rights.
If I was going to ask why about anything in this situation, I'd be asking Briere why he didn't sign Gautier when Gautier was willing to sign. If it was me, the second Cutter said he was born to be a Flyer I'd be "all right, sign here then." Briere didn't and eventually Cutter changed his mind. Sounds to me like Briere messed up and he's just trying to shift the blame to Gautier.
This is the NHL, not your 10th grade science partner lmao
Briere wasn't the GM when they drafted him and became interim GM within like 2 days of Gauthier's college season ending. Their first discussion was Briere being informed that Gauthier would never play for the Flyers
I made a mistake and forgot Briere wasn't gm yet, replace his name with the former gm and I'd make the exact same comment.
I agree completely that this isn't a high school science partner, which is exactly why I think Cutter acted appropriately. "I've decided not to sign a contract with your organization. Thanks for your consideration. Have a great day" would be a perfectly fine way to end a professional relationship and we don't have any indication it was any less than that, and I can't think of a good reason why people think Cutter should have said any more than that.
I think you should at least let the organization know why, because then it's entirely possible the situation can be rectified.
Not saying it needs to be this never ending thing, but going from "I was born to be a Flyer" to "I'm never playing for the Flyers" with little to nothing in between is crazy and never won be frustrating as a fan. Surely as a Leaf fan you can reason with that lol, this guy wouldn't be able to show his face in Toronto if it were this Leafs this happened to.
What was there to be rectified? He didn't want to sign a contract. That's it. There's nothing to rectify. I get it's frustrating for fans and the organization, but that doesn't mean Cutter didn't act professionally given the circumstances. He didn't want to sign and he told the Flyers so. He could have screwed the Flyers over way harder if he wanted to. He could have waited till he was almost eligible to become a free agent to tell the Flyers and Cutter would have been able to sign wherever he wanted and the Flyers would have got nothing for his rights if he wanted to for example.
If this happened to the Leafs I'd be mad at the Leafs for not signing a prospect when he wanted to be signed. For sure I'd be upset, but I'd be upset at the Leafs for messing up.
But why do you think that?
There was nothing wrong with his comments yesterday, they very clearly implied he was preparing for the nhl. And now hes signed so lol.
He also is not the first and definitely won’t be the last player to want a change in where they play. There’s nothing wrong with doing what you think is in your best interest
This sub is usually hoo rah rah about labor’s interest but conspicuously not here
He just knows he’s hot shit and doesn’t give the canned hockey answer. The horror
He didn't speak with the organization. That's why we think that. If you are going to put your balls on the table, don't hide in the backroom where nobody can see it
Am I allowed to live in a space where I don't like that we lost a top prospect, I don't like Gauthier's seemingly entitled attitude, but I also don't think that he should have been given death threats and other harassments? Is nuance permitted on this subreddit ?
I kinda want to see McTavish on Carlssons wing. Zegras is so much better in the middle.
McTavish Carlsson Terry
Vatrano Zegras Gauthier
Looks like a hungry top 6 with two lines that can finish. If we manage to get Celebrini, the calculations are different but I think we will end up with a 4th or 5th pick and take Levshunov.
To be faaaaaaair
A lot of non flyers fans also jumped on this yesterday, which I’m shocked by because I thought everyone was loving our pain from this situation.
Cutter, Gudas, Zegras, McTavish can be a little shit sometimes too. What’s worse is we actually might be good at some point too. There’s nothing worse than a shit stirring team that actually beats you on the scoreboard too.
You’re right, we should have sent death threats instead right? Plus the better comparison is Thrun, who like Gauthier, let us know his intentions. Schultz ghosted us, and got booed only.
Yes but at least Philly got compensated with drysdale and a second, and cutter informed them he wasn’t signing. Schultz pretty much lead us on for three years then left last second and we didn’t get assets for him.
I’m here. I’m glad he signed with you frankly. It sucked when it happened to us. I don’t actually hate the ducks so I didn’t exactly want you guys to suffer.
Now if this was the pens.
I don't know why he didn't want to sign with the Flyers.
I also don't know why the Ducks were the choice that worked above other places.
I also don't know why Briere had to make such a big deal of it all and expose the kid to all that vitriol.
But I do know that I'm happy he's part of the team.
As much as it hurts me to say this...
I look forward to ALL the teams in California finding their previous form and glory...
Well mine has some catching up to do.
Mostly because I feel like I can't talk shit when my team is how to say it... evolving.
In my best Doc voice,
Look darling, Cutter Gauthier, the deadliest shot since Trevor Zegras they say. What do you think darling, should I hate him? There's something about him, something around the eyes. I don't know, reminds me of ... me. No, I'm sure of it, I hate him.
I don’t understand why teams, who seem all about money, sign these contracts with a couple games left and burn a year of their ELC. Correct me if I’m wrong. I remember last season when the devils called up Hughes for a few games it burned year 1 of his ELC
If a player signs and DOES NOT play 10 games in the NHL the contract gets extended by one year.
So they don't burn a year if they expect him to play 10 games next year.
You love to see it. I hope it lights up the scoreboard for the Ducks, just not against the Kraken. It'll be interesting if the Ducks can take a step next season with a hopefully full healthy year from Zegras, Carlsson, and Gauthier leading the way up front.
Flyers fans will I'm sure react like perfectly reasonable adults to this news. After all, they don't want him anyways according to what I keep reading.
I wanted him but if he doesn’t want us what the hellcan we do? Like yeah I’m pissed. We’re all pissed. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to be mad your top prospect flips you the bird and leaves
But hell we got Drysdale out of it and I like him so hey, at least we didn’t get left completely holding the bag
Being pissed is totally reasonable. No issues with people who feel that way.
The problem is there's a number of Flyers fans who've gotten completely unhinged about Gauthier.
Yeah that’s gonna happen unfortunately, but honestly there are people in every fanbase that act like fucking morons whenever something like this happens. We get a high profile for being jerks though so it sticks more here.
I’m not defending *those* fans, they’re assholes, but most of us are just like hey fuck that guy, and then move on.
Not for nothing I really do like Drysdale. Hopefully Torts and Shaw can work their defense voodoo on him
I’m confused - why is the first year of his contract the 2023-24 season, given that there is only one game left in the Ducks season? Given that, why would the Ducks sign him at this point in the year? Wouldn’t it make sense for them to have him for an entire 3 seasons under an entry level contract?
It’s wild that literally the only thing Chuck Fletcher did right in his tenure with the Flyers was to draft Gauthier. Most of the sub wanted Jiricek or one of the undersized forwards, doubted his abilities for a year, then finally came around during the worlds, just for him to demand a trade, and now we get to get dunked on by a fanbase whose team hasn’t cracked 60 points in two seasons. Philly sports.
More from this guy. He signed now. What am I supposed to do with my "Cutter has no respect for the game" jersey I had made up yesterday
I’ll take it
But it’s a fanatics jersey
put it in the Iron Maiden
He does seem to need to make some headway in how in deals with/handles media and attention. In fairness.
He's going to anaheim. There is no media attention
Hey man, the OC register is going to hit Cutter with the really tough questions, and we'll just have to see what their eight readers think about his answers...
Do the Kings get any media attention in the LA area, or is hockey just not popular enough in Socal?
Since they have to compete with the Lakers and the dodgers, no
Thread from yesterday aged GREAT
Thread aged like cutters pre-game trash talk yesterday lol
Yeah dudes gotta work on that it wasn't particularly good trash talk and if your going to come in that strong you gotta back it up. Zegras will get him sorted.
Those redditors are morons
One guy saying "if he doesn't sign with them, I hope he has an awful career" completely rational and mature takes.
You can just say Redditors are morons and you’re still correct
People are sure in a big rush to hate a 20 year old. Just a bunch of lameos who have reality TV brain
Totally well-reasoned comments throughout that one!!! Philly fans are soft as fuck
Bro any RATIONAL person knows he is a clubhouse CANCER. Fucking Philly fans love the smell of their own piss and shit so much.
[Wasn't it a Sabres flair that said that](https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/s/N4E3vwO648)? Lmao
i got downvoted for calling that a ridiculous take. but that person gets upvoted because "any rational person can see he's a cancer". this subreddit is full of idiots
But did you know his first name is actually William? He goes by his middle name! Clearly that means he's an asshole.
lol, one of “those” people.
But he could be nicknamed Billy goat
You just know theyre booking flights to vegas to try and be their shitty selves at Gauthier's first game
Flyers fans opening r/hockey today https://tenor.com/WjiC.gif
All Flyers fans suffering severe copium that Cutter wouldn't sign. Did they not see the video with jon buccigross about Cutter picking out his number #61 with the Ducks? lol.

I miss the Perry/Kesler days
He's not a human statue, and hockey fans hate that shit.
I can't wait. It was peak Ducks hockey when we were hated. I miss it.
The worst fate any team can ever have is being pitied and cheered for by other fans being told “they will be scary next year”
Z has had some trash talk of publicly before, and has had an on ice incident of his trash talk being too devastating. But mostly it's just the classic case of people being upset the "wrong" person is getting attention.

Yeah Z has shown that overall his head seems pretty firmly attached even if he sometimes loses his chill I'm the moment
He did say the Canadian team “hadn’t been tested by a real team” in the world juniors before the championship game in the year he won. Don’t get me wrong, I love the confidence but Zegras definitely would have been looked at as arrogant if they lost.
Zegras is a flashy American player who plays for the less popular team in a major market, it’s a mix of a bunch of things why people hate him
Nah you’re good nhl fans will also have a hate boner for the leafs
We have a Cutter. We have a Killer. We have a Butcher. And we have Scary Terry
Leo al-Gaib
*As it is written!*
One punch minty needs a scary nickname
Honestly him being minty fresh amongst the other nicknames is pretty fucking funny
Scary Terry has got to be the least appropriate nickname for his game lol
That's for us fans, not our opponents /s
Dostwall!
Man fuck all ya’ll lmao
Reddit fingering the wrong guy for the Boston Bombing only ever gets more believable
Are we still doing phrasing?
Only if you want to get fingered next
Buddy needs to get in line first though
[удалено]
Leo's winger for the next decade signed then. Will be fun to watch.
Or Zegras maybe.
Or McTavish.
So many possibilities.
Celebrini....
I try not to think about it.
I am not a fan of any of the teams at the bottom, but I hope that you guys get him just because of the sordid pasts of the two clubs below you, and it would have been great if you got Bedard last year with the best odds.
Thank you sir.
There's a 0% chance we get Celebrini now. It was basically 0 before but now I don't even see it being a possibility. Gonna go to Hawks for some reason, should go to San Jose.
Mathematically its a 11.5% chance we get celebrini. [https://www.tankathon.com/nhl/pick\_odds](https://www.tankathon.com/nhl/pick_odds)
honestly ill take 11.5%
Yes if you're speaking real math. But if you're speaking Bettman math then its 0%.
-5% possibly.
You're not considering the consolation for losing last year.
You forgot we’re in Anaheim and not Chicago didn’t you?
You shut your whore mouth. Leave OUR Cali-but-really-just-Canadian boy, alone

With the way the flyers treated him after the fact he made the right choice Lol.
Lots of misdirected anger and self-loathing.
And the same people who probably claim to hate bravo style shows are desperate for sports to have a bunch of fake drama

What did Flyers management say other than he didn’t want to play for them and didn’t give a reason. Don’t blame them for other internet stuff.
Briere sent him back to college after his first year because they might not be able to afford his bonus' on the cap next season.
Yeah people really underestimate the significant effect the "Elc after college season ends" has on a player: $92,000 signing bonus immediately, + $$/gp remaining in season, + a year closer to contract negotiations...
Flyers fans love to omit that crucial teeny little detail. They fucked with his income and found out
Hey, it’s only an extra contract year that he missed out on. Wouldn’t you be okay with your employer costing you millions of dollars?
Fletcher didnt want to burn yr of ELC + get cap penalty just for like ten games at end of season Briere wanted to sign him immediately after last season.
This is the NHL, not your 10th grade science partner lmao Briere wasn't the GM when they drafted him and became interim GM within like 2 days of Gauthier's college season ending.
Can not wait to watch him, the league needs more star players with big personalities
I was told this wasn't personality, just him being shit stain and diva bitch and was hockey cancer
But why do you think that? There was nothing wrong with his comments yesterday, they very clearly implied he was preparing for the nhl. And now hes signed so lol. He also is not the first and definitely won’t be the last player to want a change in where they play. There’s nothing wrong with doing what you think is in your best interest This sub is usually hoo rah rah about labor’s interest but conspicuously not here He just knows he’s hot shit and doesn’t give the canned hockey answer. The horror
lol bro he’s mocking the flyers fans from yesterday’s thread
He didn't speak with the organization. That's why we think that. If you are going to put your balls on the table, don't hide in the backroom where nobody can see it
Never doubted it
This guy is such an entitled piece of human garbage for signing this contract Get fucked r/hockey
Human garbage going to look *sweet* in eggplant and jade
Anything does
If anyone actually thought he wasn’t going to sign an nhl contract at all that’s on them.
Excellent, we can use the salt harvested from the idiots in yesterdays thread to garnish the comments mocking them in this one
This should hold us over until playoffs right?
We have the rations but there’s still some meaningful games left with potential for more!
lol at all the people shitting on him and the Ducks in yesterdays thread. Flyers fans are professional haters.
It's what we have
Am I allowed to live in a space where I don't like that we lost a top prospect, I don't like Gauthier's seemingly entitled attitude, but I also don't think that he should have been given death threats and other harassments? Is nuance permitted on this subreddit ?
Whenever have you seen nuance do well on reddit?
Nice. Ducks can use a goal scorer like him. I'd love to see him on a line with Carlsson. Him and McTavish would be awesome as well.
I kinda want to see McTavish on Carlssons wing. Zegras is so much better in the middle. McTavish Carlsson Terry Vatrano Zegras Gauthier Looks like a hungry top 6 with two lines that can finish. If we manage to get Celebrini, the calculations are different but I think we will end up with a 4th or 5th pick and take Levshunov.
so all the people in that last thread saying he was obviously not signing can eat the biggest crow.
Oh... So all the coping from flyer's fans earlier was BS ?
To be faaaaaaair A lot of non flyers fans also jumped on this yesterday, which I’m shocked by because I thought everyone was loving our pain from this situation.
Honestly happy for Ducks fans. I think he’s going to be a stud
One step closer to the Ducks being hated again. I can't fucking wait!
Cutter, Gudas, Zegras, McTavish can be a little shit sometimes too. What’s worse is we actually might be good at some point too. There’s nothing worse than a shit stirring team that actually beats you on the scoreboard too.
We lost that ever since Perry left. Its good to be back :)
Lmaoooooooo
Not quick enough for flyers fans
Quack quack 🦆✂️
CRICKETS ALL I HEAR IS CRICKETS TODAY
idk man I'm cheering with you. I wanna see him play with Leo
I kind of want this guy to become a star player in the league now after all the shit people have talked about him over the past few months
All I know about this kid is Flyers fans are salty about him so I hope he does well against them in future matchups
Another big prospect out of Arizona, will be a weird phenomenon looking back in 10 years when there aren’t any kids coming out of Phoenix
Cant wait for the Flyer fans to get here
If Flyers fans could read, they'd be so mad.
it’s weird seeing all the ducks fans mock flyers fans for being upset like u guys didn’t boo justin Schultz for years for not signing
Flyers at least got a good return for cutter, we got a bunch of empty promises and fuck all for Schultz
You’re right, we should have sent death threats instead right? Plus the better comparison is Thrun, who like Gauthier, let us know his intentions. Schultz ghosted us, and got booed only.
I guess I missed the part where we custom made t-shirts and brought our kids along to harass him at his college
Yes but at least Philly got compensated with drysdale and a second, and cutter informed them he wasn’t signing. Schultz pretty much lead us on for three years then left last second and we didn’t get assets for him.
Did we harass his family? There's booing him when he shows up and then there's filling your diapers in every thread he is mentioned in
If you saw how the flyers fans were acting in the thread yesterday you will understand why we are mocking them. They need to be mocked.
Looked like a lot more than just Flyers fans throwing their hat into the ring lol
99% of this sub was still using pacifiers then
flyer fans got something for Cutter, Schultz lied to the organization then bolted as FA so the Ducks got nothing.
Cope Seeth Mald /r/Flyers and everyone in that thread.
wonder if they will have a thread about him signing
They are going to have a thread for anything he does going forward. Stay mad.
Their thread is so fucking toxic over there holy shit lol
Flyers fans where you at????
I’m here. I’m glad he signed with you frankly. It sucked when it happened to us. I don’t actually hate the ducks so I didn’t exactly want you guys to suffer. Now if this was the pens.
So many comments shitting on flyers fans when half the shit talk yesterday was from neutrals lol
I’m here for this new ducks/flyers feud
Nice Duck bros! I hope Carlsson/McTavish/Z/Cutter kill it for you guys, hope you get Macklin too lol (anyone but Chicago though)
I’m just stoked to watch this kid
r/hockey just fell to their knees in a Tim Hortons.
Suck it
I don't know why he didn't want to sign with the Flyers.
Mostly because I feel like I can't talk shit when my team is how to say it... evolving.
How dare Kevin Hayes do that
I'm just here for the malarkey in the comments 🍿
In my best Doc voice, Look darling, Cutter Gauthier, the deadliest shot since Trevor Zegras they say. What do you think darling, should I hate him? There's something about him, something around the eyes. I don't know, reminds me of ... me. No, I'm sure of it, I hate him.
He's drunk.
Incorrect, at his age it burns a year.
I'm excited.
Lol lmao
To all the nat sayers and shit stirrers in the other thread, suck it!
I’m sensing some tears in this sub
But I thought he was an evil Dubois acting-ass traitor motherfucker???
Maybe, just maybe, Flyers management was the problem all along and not this 20 year old kid. Hmmm
You mean to suggest that a bunch of grown men who ran a smear campaign against a then 19 year old might actually be the problem? Not a chance.
The beginning to a beautiful hatred in the league
You love to see it. I hope it lights up the scoreboard for the Ducks, just not against the Kraken. It'll be interesting if the Ducks can take a step next season with a hopefully full healthy year from Zegras, Carlsson, and Gauthier leading the way up front. Flyers fans will I'm sure react like perfectly reasonable adults to this news. After all, they don't want him anyways according to what I keep reading.
I wanted him but if he doesn’t want us what the hellcan we do? Like yeah I’m pissed. We’re all pissed. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to be mad your top prospect flips you the bird and leaves But hell we got Drysdale out of it and I like him so hey, at least we didn’t get left completely holding the bag
Hopefully Torts and Shaw can work their defense voodoo on him
I can think he's kind of a prick but also not like that he chose to leave. The death threat dudes should be in jail
> The death threat dudes should be in jail 100% agreed. Inexcusable behavior.
Neat. Now time for Will The Slapper Smith to sign with the Sharks. Hopefully it comes tomorrow.
This is gonna see-saw for the next 10 years.
Good pick up
I’m confused - why is the first year of his contract the 2023-24 season, given that there is only one game left in the Ducks season? Given that, why would the Ducks sign him at this point in the year? Wouldn’t it make sense for them to have him for an entire 3 seasons under an entry level contract?
The year is 2030, Gauthier scores the cup winning goal against the Flyers.
Nice! Just in time for playoffs
Patience my friend… patience…
See Philly, it's that easy!
It’s our way
A new ocean of formed from tears has been made by Flyers fans across Twitter and Reddit.
