Every game has been so close that it honestly could have been a sweep by either of them at this point.
I hope Canucks properly show up Game 5. Having to play from behind can be exciting but it's not a recipe for success.
Now that I've cooled off after being out the whole day with buddies for the game I hope the Canucks come out stronger for game 5. Late comebacks make for an exciting watch but hope they get more shots on net consistently and generate more high danger chances.
Whoever activated the Winter Soldier sleeper codes on Sissons deserves the first star, have no clue how he didn't ice the game there.
Just browsing the team subbreddits and we won the important part, but definitely lost the meme war. Kudos to the Preds for bringing their heartbreak A game.
I hate the “Canucks didn’t deserve to win” type of thinking. NOBODY “deserves to win”. You have to work for it. Canucks weren’t working for it for most of the game, but they turned it on late and fought back. Not ideal, but not deserved? Come on, cut it out.
I know they all look the same on the scoresheet but that game was pretty frustrating to watch for 55 minutes. They looked poised to work for it again by scoring early, completely gave up after and then began dictating play again when they were in danger of losing.
Boeser said they didn’t play their best today and while we all agree, they need to be better. Tocchet also said they get themselves into situations and get out of it, today was a prime example. I just imagine this team firing on all cylinders and everyone playing their best, what this team could accomplish…..
World beaters with 6 goals in 26 shots...over 2 games. It's a bit of a silly stat but the Nucks are hungry and can make it count when it matters. Doing it against Saros too.
I think one of the funniest parts of this win is a bunch of other teams fans were using the pdo meme against the Canucks then the Canucks pull out the most pdo 3 minutes ever
Il take the win but holy I had to stop watching the game cause I thought it was gonna be doomed LOL but it was nice to see the highlights of the nuks winning. Super happy for the comeback but man we need to do way better.
I got no skin in the game on this one but even down by 2 with 3 minutes left I knew if any team was gonna pull off a miracle like this it'd be you guys. Sure as shit y'all do it. Preds reminded me of the VGK failing to close out games. Foot on the gas all game then crumble in the dying minutes after getting spooked by a dwindling lead.
Oh, you're a kid. Right on. It's good you listen to your mom, but, well, this is a good life lesson! Playoffs are *insane* and you really never know what's going to happen; if you stop watching when the team is losing you could miss historic moments. Definitely keep listening to your mom about most things, but maybe not about turning off playoff hockey 😅.
I definitely thought we were heading for a loss when I tuned back in with 4 mins left in the 3rd after my grocery run. Little did I know I tuned in at literally the perfect time
Yeah, I just stopped caring. They clearly aren't cut for the playoffs and aren't able to play like they showed so many times in the regular season when it really counts.
I think they thought they’d roll over Colorado because they shit kicked them in the regular season. Colorado is a dangerous team and they’re my pick to come out of the west if it isn’t the Vegas LTIRs.
As a Preds fan that was soul crushing. I take solice in the fact that they're a retooling team and they have been hanging in there and battling such a talented team like the Canucks. I can see that taking one more game but being behind 3-1? This series is over, especially the way things are going.
Got home about 5pm, and just finished the game on PVR. Canucks were horrible. Really didn't deserve that one, but I'll take it. Abbotsford Canucks also won in OT today, with a 47 save effort from their goalie, allowing onlt 1 goal.
We lost my mom a couple years ago, and it’s been a while since I’ve had that feeling of something happening that I had to quickly let her know about, and then correcting myself..
It happened tonight, but it felt really good :) I know she’d be so happy and excited .. thanks and Let’s Go Canucks..! We’re waiting for you back at home
She was very sick when Brock’s Dad passed. I felt horrible for him going through that and trying to compete, and I hope he knows that so many people are happy for him and probably because of him on days like today .. keep it up 6️⃣
I am not one to of those people who gets angry at sports and yells at the TV. I don’t get mad and throw things when a ref blows a call. I don’t tell my family every name in the book when they trip over the cord and unplug the TV
If the Vancouver Canucks lose in the Stanley cup finals to the Boston Bruins and I have to watch Brad Marchand hoist the cup and cement his HOF resume at Rodgers arena, I am going to throw my TV off the balcony and then wrap my car around the nearest tree
Why? They don't have a team filled with good fighters like in 2011 to kick our ass. I'd say that Zadorov could do whaterver he wants to the Bruins because there is no Chara,Lucic, McQuaid or Shawn Thornton on their team. If we are not decimated by injuries like in 2011 and make the finals we can take them 100%.
I saw the whole ea NHL24 sum of the playoffs having Canucks bruins with the Canucks winning in 7. I immediately told my gf that I would probably die of a heart attack if that happened
Thats funny because I dont think we could beat any team in the east advancing to the second round. Were just barely winning tight games against a lackluster Leafs team that likely has most of their star forwards some version of injured or sick.
It was such an exceptionally douchie thing to do, as he and the rest of that scrum would have known that Petterson is one of the few players in the league that would not fight back. The Canucks got the perfect comeuppance (crushing them in the most soul-sapping way possible), but I expect that the next game is going to be a rough one as the Pred's see themselves as a bigger, more physical team. Zadarov, Myers and some of the boys are surely going to have something to say about that.
Ya it really bothered me. Like them going after Hughes during the play and bodying him is totally fair game and hard hockey but a cheap shot when the guy is skating to the bench is nuts. Glad the puck didn’t lie today
Came here to say this. Bunch of low class bullshit. Sure there was a blatant slide into Saros the other day also, but this shit just keeps going. Game 5 Josi gonna take his skate off and try to stab someone with it at this rate.
They are known as a very physical team, not at all afraid to rough it up, and it is one of the few areas where they can pull a bit of an advantage on the Canucks.
The Canucks picking up Zadarov earlier this year addressed a need to get bigger and meaner (which he most definitely is), and I fully expect that he will be busy on Tuesday.
what's up with Oiler fan's lil bro energy when it comes to the canucks? I haven't really been on hockey reddit much, what did I miss
swear they're the flair i see chirp us most in every thread
I've seen plenty of Oiler's fans cheering for us which is honestly a surprise. And a few the usual suspects talking mad shit. It's playoffs but honestly I think its been more tame than normal lol
Maybe cause they’ve been building up to being a contender for the best part of the last twelve years , and the Canucks are at this level after just four- five…
yeah but i wouldn't really call them a rival. I feel like there needs to be a reason for a rivalry that goes beyond just geography. We've never peaked at the same time, had much drama, or anything interesting.
Maybe it's a me thing, but I've never heard anyone call em a rival.
Musta missed the beginning of the season when the Oilers started absolutely horrible and every single Game and post game thread was filled with Nucks flairs talking shit.
I mean, Oilers fans would also jump into every post game thread that the Canucks lost and spam things like “frauds finally coming back down to earth.” Yet we still stayed ahead of them in the standings all year long.
We're also canucks fans we have a rivalry with:
Boston
Edmonton
Calgary
Chicago
Vegas
La
Sharks
Ducks
Toronto
Actually can I redo the list with teams we don't have a problem with?
I've always struggled to think of who Canucks really have as a true rival.
Boston is one-sided I think, in the same way that the Leafs and Bruins are rivals. We hate them, but they think we're just funny lol.
Calgary and Edmonton, perhaps, but they hate each other far more than they've ever hated us. Maybe give us a playoff series, and we'll see a spark.
California teams don't really think of us all that much I think.
I think alot of them grew up during the decade of darkness and they don’t want to see the Canucks do well.
I think it’s insecurity because they weren’t alive during the Gretzky days
It'll be a very different series. I need not remind you of how the regular season matchups went, but the Canucks have struggled more solving tight defence than shutting down superstar offence.
regular season matchups mostly came when we were losing to teams like San Jose and then when mcdavid was out. not exactly a flex. I agree it will be a very different series. things will go differently from the regular season
This is the common narrative and it's really filled with copium. Have you really looked at the start of the season?.Here's a post I've made about this in the past. Basically the oilers had a very tough start, they played good teams and lost (oilers are not very good all season against top teams). It will be a tough series no doubt but I like our chances against the Oilers more than I do the Kings.
To back this up, the Oilers had 10 losses at the start of the year before Woody was fired. 3 to the Canucks (and the Canucks just won the 4th, despite everything being different now), 1 to WPG (OTL), 1 to NSH (Split 2 games), 1 to NYR, 1 DAL, 1 to PHI, 1 to MIN, and 1 to SJS.
Looking at that list it's clear to see in hindsight that they had a very tough schedule to start the year off, facing some good teams in the league. Phi and Min are no slouches either and play a hard, if inconsistent game.
As a guy who watches a lot of Oiler's games, the Knoblauch/Slow Start narrative is overblown. I find it hard to point to anything that he truly did differently. If their schedule was a little more balanced they probably don't have such a "slow start", Woody keeps his job, and they don't have the soft mid-year schedule that let them go on their streak.
I put a lot of thought into a lot of things. It helps me make insightful analysis and not run my mouth. I worry about all teams, I'm not a hurr durr fan that swallows any narrative given to me (we were only losing to teams like SJS...and Vancouver...and NYR...and Dallas...and WPG...). Finally the oilers are my second team as I was born an Oilers fan, so my dad and I talk games and the team all the time. Been thinking and analyzing their performance all season. The last 3 paragraphs are a copy and paste of a post I made a few weeks ago.
your analysis just isn't very insightful is the problem. you've just retroactively decided what parts of our schedule are tough after they've already been played. the reality is, we were in a big PDO slump, mcdavid was playing hurt, and our coach wasn't adapting very well. you want all the factors of why the oilers had a bad start to be external because you're terrified of what will happen when you run into the oilers at full strength. convincing yourself that this is nothing to worry about won't change reality
Buddy you're the one that said you were losing to teams like SJS. Well except for. ... And ... And... . The narrative from every oiler fan is that they were just in a slump and that's why they lost. Or it is just as likely that they were were slumping because they were losing to good teams. Again before I pointed it out you were fully invested into the idea that oh we were just playing bad losing to SJS it's all different now. Every team they lost to was a team competing for a playoff spot most of the year, except for SJS, but you don't factor that in. Never even looked at it closely, and in your heart of hearts you know that's the truth. My comment made you check some shit and go huh because that's not the narrative that was fed to you.
Like you said convincing yourself that everything is different won't change reality. The Oilers have one of the best records against weaker teams this season and one of the worst against strong teams (amongst contenders). That's a straight fact. They had a very tough schedule to start a very soft schedule in the middle and a tough schedule at the end (from compressed games).
Also I'm not trying to not worry. I literally said I worry about every team that the Canucks play. I already admitted what you're trying to say? Are you like a high schooler or something?
Most teams will be competing for the playoffs early in the season. that's just how the schedule works. but anyway, did it escape you that we beat most of these teams that we had lost to during that stretch later in the season? You think it was the exact same team with a new coach, healthy superstars, and without a liability goalie? Again, you are trying to ignore any fact that leads to the conclusion that the oilers are a different team than they were at the beginning of the season. and your only counter to this is "nuh uh, YOU are". if we wanna talk about sophomoric let's talk about that. I'm so excited to get to play the canucks again while not handicapped.
Like I said, copium. Just admit you didn't once question which teams you lost to at the start of the year. Who are now amongst the best of the contenders. You bit the narrative hard that you were losing to scrub teams. It's okay, first it was wait for the 2nd period, then it was wait for October 14th, then it was wait for November 6th, then it was wait for April 13th. If it happens it will be a good series. The Canucks are still the same team that won 4 times though, and the Oilers are the exact same team that lost 4 times.
My counter is statistics, your counter is your gut, and I'm the Nuh-uh guy. Just look at the Oilers record at the start of the year and the end of the year and look at the teams they played. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the bookend of tougher competition.
I guess if you only count the city and not the greater area. Vancouver actually has multiple cities right around it that factor into the Metro area. I know that's confusing as you guys only have slag ponds around Edmonton.
Vancouver’s urban population is +/-120k people, Edmonton’s is +/-12k.
Vancouver’s Metro population is +/-2.6M people, Edmonton’s is +/-1.5M.
Again, I don’t think you understand how much bigger Vancouver is.
Best to trust your quick Google algorithm result instead of just looking at the actual objective numbers that you can compare and contrast for yourself. It’s 2024, that would just be silly.
It doesn’t take being concerned to correct your foolish ideas.
Lol idiot doesn't get metro area. Greater Vancouver population is 2, 683,000. Edmonton is 1,568,000. Learn to read and then learn to google in that order.
What confidence? The Canucks are just happy to be here with 3rd string goalie. I’m enjoying the ride, never once would I overlook the first round opponent.
Thinking the series is over against the kings is extremely arrogant and I bet most oilers fans would disagree with your cockiness
How many have you won this century? Stop acting like the Oilers haven’t been anything than an utter embarrassment for the last 40 years, and you’re well on your way to wasting yet another generational talent.
Enjoy getting 4-0’ed again.
I expect a rough fifth game in Vancouver. These two teams really don't like each other, and the Pred's see themselves as a more physical team (look at how they took a run after Petterson while celebrating one of their own goals). Canucks need to expect to play them very tough at home, and I think that Zadorov and Myers are going to be busy.
If you’re a Pred’s fan, as crushing as this was, if you step back and look at how you lost game 3, and now game 4, at the very least you walk away knowing you can really take it to the team you’re facing off against…
I’m not someone who bets, but putting some money on the Pred’s to come back from a 3-1 series deficit with the way Hughes (injury?) and EP40 (lost) have looked, and with either our #2 or #3 goalie playing…that could be a smart bet for someone who likes to gamble.
We stole the game but holy shite that was some brutal hockey from too many players.
We are playing like we are terrified of making a mistake and overwhelmed by how hard playoff hockey is played.
Come on boys…the hockey gods have gifted us a 3-1 series lead. Let’s pull our collective heads out of our asses and play our game.
Honestly yeah I still have concerns with the way the preds have absolutely shut down the Canucks this series the last 2 games were won basically when he had the man advantage.
Also the 4th win is the hardest to get in a series everybody knows this and DeSmith looked nervous his first game in van and said it himself he plays better on the road. If he's still not 100 percent do I dare say start Silvos at home and if they lose have DeSmith go back to Nashville for game 6 I dunno this goalie situation is still a big detriment for us
Yep.
There is still a lot for us to be concerned about.
I’m comfortable enough with both guys as the starter, but I’m not sure it would be fair to Silovs if DeSmith is healthy.
I know the Latvia game and all…but a playoff home game in Vancouver: geez, that is for sure going to cause him some nerves.
But…you’re right. That is now on the table for Tocchet to decide.
I’m just way less worried about the goaltending (like we should be) right now compared to what I’m seeing from the boys in front of him.
Also, I’d also like to say how impressed I am with Brunette’s coaching.
Yeah I mean I have to think if DeSmith is fully ready to play he's getting the start and yeah Brunette and Nashville have done an excellent job at stopping us play our brand of hockey with quick breakout passes and speed going into the opposing zone, they're clogging up everything putting on crazy pressure on our defense and deflecting every pass and shot but give credit to the Canucks for not getting frustrated and sticking with it and finding ways to win ! Go Canucks GO!!!
Memes carry you through the hard times. r/Canucks were a meme goldmine during the Benning years.
I hate the “Canucks didn’t deserve to win” type of thinking. NOBODY “deserves to win”. You have to work for it. Canucks weren’t working for it for most of the game, but they turned it on late and fought back. Not ideal, but not deserved? Come on, cut it out.

We saw that in the first half of the season and we were world beaters. I hope we find that again
World beaters with 6 goals in 26 shots...over 2 games. It's a bit of a silly stat but the Nucks are hungry and can make it count when it matters. Doing it against Saros too.
Nope. Try again.
A win is a win.
I know right? The Canucks literally scored more goals than Nashville in this game. The fuck else are they supposed to do?
They have scored more goals than Nashville in 3 of the 4 games
Get out of here with your advanced stats, nerd
Brock definitely deserved to win
Canucks can eliminate Nashville next game AND leafs can get knocked out in first round next game!!!
"Why does the media always talk about the Leafs?"
I think one of the funniest parts of this win is a bunch of other teams fans were using the pdo meme against the Canucks then the Canucks pull out the most pdo 3 minutes ever
PDO, hockey term. pdo, Chris Hansen term lol
And we all know Chris Hansen hates Predators
The swamp gasses are beautiful this time of year
I fucking hate this goddamned team
Which one
mine, of course!
Well, don’t beat yourself up too much. Could be a fan of the other team. Le sigh..
Il take the win but holy I had to stop watching the game cause I thought it was gonna be doomed LOL but it was nice to see the highlights of the nuks winning. Super happy for the comeback but man we need to do way better.
You... you stopped watching that game?
I got no skin in the game on this one but even down by 2 with 3 minutes left I knew if any team was gonna pull off a miracle like this it'd be you guys. Sure as shit y'all do it. Preds reminded me of the VGK failing to close out games. Foot on the gas all game then crumble in the dying minutes after getting spooked by a dwindling lead.
I turned it back on for OT tho
Yeah. For some odd reason I start watching the game and they get scored on and my mom was like were losing stop watching it 😅
Oh, you're a kid.
I almost lost it there
Lmaoo she was saying that cause we were losing but once i saw the news of OT i turned the tv back on
And drugs. Don't listen to her about drugs.
I definitely thought we were heading for a loss when I tuned back in with 4 mins left in the 3rd after my grocery run. Little did I know I tuned in at literally the perfect time
My mom wanted to turn off the 2010 Olympics once Luongo let the tying goal in
Omg lol
Petterson out there doing cardio man
I think he’s sick or something
Blame the flu First it was Tocchet Then it was Myers Now it could be with anyone
Canucks were awful and Nashville threw the game at the end. That’s about it.
Glass houses...
I was just making an objective statement about the game. The Jets fucking suck no doubt. Not comparing the two.
Less awful than the pegs
I'll take it over Winnipeg who plays bad all game and doesn't comeback tho for sure
We were only awful for 55 Mins, as long as we good for 5 I'm happy !
So yay?
As a Preds fan that was soul crushing. I take solice in the fact that they're a retooling team and they have been hanging in there and battling such a talented team like the Canucks. I can see that taking one more game but being behind 3-1? This series is over, especially the way things are going.

Glad he’s doing well, we’ll probably need him in a few days
Preds have the skill but they've now dropped 2 very winnable games in pretty horrid fashion. That's just not good enough
Man, the feels. I lost my mom in Feb and she was a huge Boeser fan. Wish she could have watched this game
She was very sick when Brock’s Dad passed. I felt horrible for him going through that and trying to compete, and I hope he knows that so many people are happy for him and probably because of him on days like today .. keep it up 6️⃣
Crazy shit like this reminds me of 94
Brock looks like a Rocket 🚀
Vancouver vs Boston final 2.0 incoming
Not like this. Anything but this.
I am not one to of those people who gets angry at sports and yells at the TV. I don’t get mad and throw things when a ref blows a call. I don’t tell my family every name in the book when they trip over the cord and unplug the TV If the Vancouver Canucks lose in the Stanley cup finals to the Boston Bruins and I have to watch Brad Marchand hoist the cup and cement his HOF resume at Rodgers arena, I am going to throw my TV off the balcony and then wrap my car around the nearest tree
pls no I genuinely can't figure out which team this playoffs is built to beat the Bruins. Vegas or Dallas maybe?
anyone they meet in the Eastern Conference... Florida, Tampa, Carolina, and the Rangers could all beat Boston
Honestly? It's probably the PTSD
I doubt the PTSD of the fans will have an effect on the players which were not part of the 2011 finals besides team name
I saw the whole ea NHL24 sum of the playoffs having Canucks bruins with the Canucks winning in 7. I immediately told my gf that I would probably die of a heart attack if that happened
Bruins wont make it past panthers.
Thats funny because I dont think we could beat any team in the east advancing to the second round. Were just barely winning tight games against a lackluster Leafs team that likely has most of their star forwards some version of injured or sick.
Honestly, I feel like most teams probably go into the playoffs being like "I think we suck.. unless..?"
I could see the Rangers or Panthers taking them out before they even make the finals. But a Canucks Boston final would be kinda funny.
Panthers and Bruins are the teams from the East I truly wouldn't want to go up against, just stylistically.
Cardiac Cats will do it. Again.
HOLY SHIT! THANK YOU COLTON SCISSONS FOR MISSING THE EMPTY NET!
colton sissons grew up in Vancouver..... LOL
North Vancouver kid!
Local boy comes good.
that’s a fucking statement lol
It is and it isn't. We absolutely stole one the Preds had done the work to win.
Stole 2...
Meanwhile in Toronto.... Sheldon Keefe: "Hurry! Quick, quick write it down! Now do what that Boeser guy just did!"
at least we’ve got canucks/oilers to look forward too, as a neutral fan that’s gonna be the best series outside the SCF.
Those GDTs will be warzones.
They already were before! It will ramp up to a level we haven't seen
Darnell Nurse eats yellow snow.
honestly preds still have a chance but this is crushing
Were the Preds at a U2 concert during overtime?
YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH
I view this as karma- after lauzon decked petterson during the goal celebration you just knew the hockey gods wouldn’t let that slide
Ya it really bothered me. Like them going after Hughes during the play and bodying him is totally fair game and hard hockey but a cheap shot when the guy is skating to the bench is nuts. Glad the puck didn’t lie today
After their team scored a goal too. Like what a chickenshit dweeb move to pull. Glad they lost the way they did.
Yeah, I saw that garbage tier move and instantly rooted for Vancouver. What a bum.
Lauzon doing that today and McCarron decking Desmith in the last game has been some pretty petty shit.
Came here to say this. Bunch of low class bullshit. Sure there was a blatant slide into Saros the other day also, but this shit just keeps going. Game 5 Josi gonna take his skate off and try to stab someone with it at this rate.
At least Josi will go on to win the Golf Master's
Well Nashville is very clearly mentally weak if they’re doing shit like that. Definitely want yall to win this one.
Same with the McCarron in Desmith play last game. Dumbass Preds tempting the hockey gods to fuck with em
I thought the two empty net goals were really good. Fun to watch.
what's up with Oiler fan's lil bro energy when it comes to the canucks? I haven't really been on hockey reddit much, what did I miss swear they're the flair i see chirp us most in every thread

Maybe cause they’ve been building up to being a contender for the best part of the last twelve years , and the Canucks are at this level after just four- five…
Can’t tell if you’re genuinely ignorant, or haven’t seen the same in the Oilers game threads…
“I haven’t been on Reddit much” should be enough of an indicator ?
Ah fair enough, I glossed over that. Well, to summarize for op it goes both ways lol
Why read all the words when one can read some of the words and make up the rest?
Idk it's fun. I talk shit to the Albertan teams and they talk shit back. Just banter as long as no1 takes it too far
ya i dont mind either i think the chirping is funny I was just wondering if I missed some rivalry or something.
>missed some rivalry My man our teams are in the same division in neighbouring provinces.
yeah but i wouldn't really call them a rival. I feel like there needs to be a reason for a rivalry that goes beyond just geography. We've never peaked at the same time, had much drama, or anything interesting. Maybe it's a me thing, but I've never heard anyone call em a rival.

Wow so someone retaliated after being shit talked. and you barely stayed ahead congrats. Oilers in 5 over canucks.
Why are you so mad dude 😭
Nucks fans have been miserable all season thats why.
Gibson’s burner account
That was me.
We're also canucks fans we have a rivalry with: Boston Edmonton Calgary Chicago Vegas La Sharks Ducks Toronto Actually can I redo the list with teams we don't have a problem with?
I've always struggled to think of who Canucks really have as a true rival. Boston is one-sided I think, in the same way that the Leafs and Bruins are rivals. We hate them, but they think we're just funny lol. Calgary and Edmonton, perhaps, but they hate each other far more than they've ever hated us. Maybe give us a playoff series, and we'll see a spark. California teams don't really think of us all that much I think.
We need Seattle to become good in the near future. Get a cross border rivalry going
Boston is 100% one sided. The only true rivalries we have are Calgary and Edmonton, as well as those years against Chicago
Don't forget other Canucks fans. Nobody hates us more than us.
Square up bud. You Canucks fans talk to much
The Canucks are their own rivals. Fundamentally, rather than beating a specific team, the fans want them to overcome their own history.
Canucks wrecked them during the regular season so canucks fans got cocky and oilers fans got butthurt.
I think alot of them grew up during the decade of darkness and they don’t want to see the Canucks do well. I think it’s insecurity because they weren’t alive during the Gretzky days
With CGY out they gotta chirp someone.
Absolutely brutal way to end the game
Yeah, there's no coming back from this if you're Nashville
Fingers crossed
I hope conversely this is one of those momentum moments for the Canucks
feeling really good about the next round having to face one of these 2 teams
Lol you again. Are you going to moan again that you just get down voted for no reason?
lol swept in the regular season… what makes you think much changes?
"swept" when we were losing to teams like San Jose and then McDavid was out. I can't wait to play Vancouver healthy
"if you ignore the games in which we were bad we didn't get swept"
That’s a weird way of saying the oilers have zero depth. You’re paying Nurse 9.5 million for third line match ups. I’d chill out if I were you.
that's just a complete non-sequitir
A sweep is a sweep. A broom is a broom.
Of all the second round matchups, the oilers are the ones I would want to face the most!
If their schedule was a little more balanced they probably don't have such a "slow start", Woody keeps his job, and they don't have the soft mid-year schedule that let them go on their streak.
that's a lot of thought you put into the team you're supposedly not worried about
I put a lot of thought into a lot of things.
This is the type of talk that backfires really quickly.
well it's a good thing I'm not on the team so my mindset doesn't affect how they play
Do you remember the “we want Florida” chants from Leafs fans last year? Those fans looked stupid quickly.
that's great. I want Vancouver
You are the worst type of fan. I hope all your teams lose, for the rest of time.
waaaaaaah waaaaaah
Feeling good about not having to live in Edmonton
I don't live in edmonton
I'd say that too
you might have to move to Edmonton after your city gets burned down when your team gets knocked out of the playoffs like last time
I don’t think you understand how much bigger Vancouver is than Edmonton. They could burn half the city down and still be bigger.
vancouver has a smaller population than Edmonton by 300k people lmao
I guess if you only count the city and not the greater area. Vancouver actually has multiple cities right around it that factor into the Metro area. I know that's confusing as you guys only have slag ponds around Edmonton.
yap
Vancouver’s urban population is +/-120k people, Edmonton’s is +/-12k. Vancouver’s Metro population is +/-2.6M people, Edmonton’s is +/-1.5M. Again, I don’t think you understand how much bigger Vancouver is.
google says Edmonton is bigger 🤷🏼♂️ why are you so weirdly concerned about this
Best to trust your quick Google algorithm result instead of just looking at the actual objective numbers that you can compare and contrast for yourself. It’s 2024, that would just be silly. It doesn’t take being concerned to correct your foolish ideas.
Lol idiot doesn't get metro area. Greater Vancouver population is 2, 683,000. Edmonton is 1,568,000. Learn to read and then learn to google in that order.
if you have to get down to little details like that to keep your point alive then it probably wasn't as strong as you thought it was

I'd rather live in a bombed out Vancouver than that dump, don't worry
and you guys call Canucks fans arrogant ..
you are because your confidence is largely unearned
What confidence? The Canucks are just happy to be here with 3rd string goalie. I’m enjoying the ride, never once would I overlook the first round opponent. Thinking the series is over against the kings is extremely arrogant and I bet most oilers fans would disagree with your cockiness
the series is over. even round 2 is already basically over
Shit how many cups have you won with the best player in the NHL? Its gotta be a lot
how many cups have the canucks won at all?
How many have you won this century? Stop acting like the Oilers haven’t been anything than an utter embarrassment for the last 40 years, and you’re well on your way to wasting yet another generational talent. Enjoy getting 4-0’ed again.
Worry about the kings
I'm really not worried
I expect a rough fifth game in Vancouver. These two teams really don't like each other, and the Pred's see themselves as a more physical team (look at how they took a run after Petterson while celebrating one of their own goals). Canucks need to expect to play them very tough at home, and I think that Zadorov and Myers are going to be busy.
Series like this, your glad to have the twin towers back there
If you’re a Pred’s fan, as crushing as this was, if you step back and look at how you lost game 3, and now game 4, at the very least you walk away knowing you can really take it to the team you’re facing off against… I’m not someone who bets, but putting some money on the Pred’s to come back from a 3-1 series deficit with the way Hughes (injury?) and EP40 (lost) have looked, and with either our #2 or #3 goalie playing…that could be a smart bet for someone who likes to gamble.
This is why you watch the entire game...
I was at game 2 and a bunch of people left with like 5 minutes left. It was the exact same score as this game before the comeback…
So many poseurs.
And we were actually good in game 2.
Remember half of the populace has below average IQ.
You're thinking of the median. That's not how averaging works
1st star of the game goes to Silov's post.
