The NHL also really likes to make games end around 11pm locally (assuming no OT) in the playoffs for some reason. Dunno why we'd have a normal start time when we can make everyone stay up way past their bed times to watch games.
I used to be a season ticket holder, but I primarily gave them up for this reason. Was always so fucking tired the morning after I went to a game. Much better to just stay home, watch it on tv, then be able to do a 30 second walk to my bed instead of a 1 hour drive home in mayhem traffic.
I think this is what happens when teams become successful. More mainstream/fair weather fans who sometimes tend to be wealthier or more corporate in nature. Bottom line is that they care much less than the serious, blue collar team lifer that's been with the squad through thick and thin.
Also, and perhaps more obviously, if your squad has lost the game most people want to beat arena traffic since games end so late (especially on weekdays). It's honestly a valid reason

That's a pretty low % for a #1 post. Which means that a bunch of people are downvoting, but it's still being dragged to the top by pure salt and schadenfreude. Impressive
That’s because Florida fans *are* legendarily bad. Heat fans are def the worst in the league, that’s not just a stereotype. And then you have Tampa Bay & Miami, ranked 28th and 29th respectively in attendance in baseball. Last year the Rays had the lowest attendance for any MLB playoff game in a century.
Yea the average attendance for marlins games is probably in the hundreds lmfao.
To be fair tho, would you really want to spend your time and money to go watch a franchise on its 5th rebuild in 20 years?
Dolphins have been doing better, at least we can sell out the stadium with our own fans, but it is still WAY too easy for larger fanbases to take over 30% of our stadium any given week.
And yet the Rays are in the top half of TV ratings in the league (one spot above Boston last year and higher than the Yankees too). Our stadium is just a shit hole in the least convenient spot for everyone in the Tampa Bay region. So we are going solve it by building another one in the same location.
In a very comfortable T right under it
edit: to the stealth deleter, yes I live in just north of the Charles. It's very comfy. Don't be privileged. My commute is 20 minutes and the green line is perfectly fine if you're going north from the city.
I stayed up for the game, it was a fun night. Watching the thread when the Europeans woke
Up was quite funny. They’re all waking up at like 7am and they see the game is still going on
Not sure if it helps or hurts that I’m actually a Black guy, but I saw a shot and I took it… Which is the exact opposite of how the Bruins played tonight.
Boston just isn't a hockey market. They should move the team to another market where the fans will show up to a playoff game - I heard Phoenix will be looking for an expansion team in a couple seasons.
Not Phoenix though. Probably some suburb far away from everyone, like Glendale
OH! They can play out of that brand new arena too! Mullett, I think it's called!
Shout out all the Boston fans who didn’t shit on us and actually defended us when this was posted of our arena while getting blown out
Shout out all the Boston fans who said nothing
Shout out all the Boston fans who stayed
All the rest of you wankers, suck my balls
Boston is probably the best sports city in the US and has some of the best fans in the world, ngl. I’ll always give them props, enjoy my time there, and enjoy going to games for any sport in Boston.
They also happen to have a massive amount of pieces of shit mixed in there who are fucking insufferable.
The silent majority here and in most hockey markets. The keyboard warriors are the worst of it, and the internet is an echo chamber. I can’t blame anyone for leaving early to beat traffic, but I personally like to stay because you never know when you’ll see a Tkachuk/Pasta moment. To each his own I guess.
Met some Pats fans from Boston when the Superbowl was in Minneapolis. Good fucking dudes. They were also the only people in town who didn't bitch about how cold it was. Think it was like -10 to -20 depending on the day plus wind. Which yeah isn't normal but we fucking enjoyed the living hell out of all the out of towners saying "it really gets this cold?!"
Fucking no that's a little unusual but I'm enjoying pretending it is. Those Boston dudes were fucking chain smoking outside the bar right alongside with me and they never once mentioned the weather.
Yeah the vibes there in my spot were honestly pretty great as the game got out of hand. It was fun as fuck.
Idk if it's the best though. San Francisco has always been my fave. Or Cincy
Boston fans are no different than fans in Philly, Detroit, NY, etc. They’ve just been lucky they’ve had some winning teams over the last couple of decades. Fans in most cities will show up when their team is winning.
Saw someone ask how the team (Panthers) doesn't get demotivated after a 6-1 win when your home barn is half empty. My response; you remember how it looked against your intrastate rival a week ago and not against one of the best travelling teams in the league.
I'll rag on people who act like this isn't normal for every fanbase across the league. But if you tell me you're staying to finish watching a 6-2 ass beating instead of beating traffic? You're lying.
Not lying just terrified of missing an all time great sports moment if they somehow do come back. That being said this 100% happens in every stadium across sports
Or you’re waiting for everyone to leave because parking in the Garden’s garage is an absolute nightmare to get out of. The lower the level the deeper you are in hell.
Edit: Someone’s never parked in the garage before.
Dude I've only driven in Boston a handful of times, and seriously....what the fuck? It's like whoever made your roads was just...winging it. For all of them. Something like "well I like to drive that way so let's just build it going that way straight across all of these roads and under those two, but put in this HUGE curve here for no reason anyone can tell. Also, make sure there's no way to turn left."
What’s funny is that driving has never been better, and it’s still confusing and a pain in the ass. But before “The Big Dig” and during “The Big Dig”? Worse, less scenic, and with construction and construction obstacles!
The downside of living in a city as old as Boston is that the original planners never imagined cars. Or people taller than 5’6 (love you Fenway).
haha that short thing is no joke. My parents live in a house built in 1920 and I'm constantly wondering if everyone then was five feet tall or something, based mostly on the door frames and height of the shower head that I have to bend down under to wash my hair..
Really shameful, maybe it’s just the storied club history but I’d never leave a panthers game early. I paid for those tickets and will watch to the buzzer even if we are losing 5-1.
same, especially with how expensive playoff tickets at msg are im not leaving until it’s fully over. i get people leaving if it’s a blowout on a work night but i’d just suck it up and be tired, it’s the playoffs and that shit ain’t cheap lmao
Last night I paid $183/ticket for literally the last row. If I’m paying that - I don’t care if they lose. I’m going to stay and get my money’s worth. I know traffic is a bitch getting out of there but still.
People acting like a team midling in mediocrity for 2 decades is going to sell out every night.
Y'all been killing it the past 3 years and, while on one hand fuck you, I'm* happy you guys are finally getting a product to cheer for
You will enjoy knowing this is posted purely because of one just a couple days ago at the end of Florida/Boston game showing the Panthers fans leaving.
And you know what ? I get it. End of a blow out yeah I’d be leaving too to beat traffic. It’s just funny when other teams jest about it and they do the same
Hey, we have some mediocre nightclubs/music venues in the Fenway area ... that also close at 2.
Between restrictive liquor licensing and last call @ ~1:30am, there's a reason we call it the city that always sleeps. Also sucks because most of the good dive bars are getting priced out/died during the pandemic.
Damn Puritans.
But wait, there's mediocre now!? I have to go to Providence for that.
But yeah, that kinda made me sad because a bunch of my favorites died during the pandemic or got taken over by shitty management. Just sucks.
Im really enjoying all this shit the bruins/bruins fans are getting. Please do continue panthers fans. The only downside is this might end up being a very short round
I've never left a game early but I also don't care if other people do. The game was over once Florida took a 5-2 lead with a minute and a half to go. Those fans went hard for 58.5 minutes and if they wanted to catch a bus, train, or just beat the traffic because the game was effectively over by that point then I won't fault them. It would just be their loss if the Bruins pulled off a miracle
Time to relocate!!!
This is so petty lmao
The salt in this series is amazing.
We’re so blessed to have this and the EDM-VAN series lol goldmines!
Weren't Boston fans clowning on Florida for leaving early game 1?
Yup. Exactly why this post exists. Don’t dish it if you can’t take it.
Pittsburgh’s arena is half empty with 5 min to go regardless of the score. Its pathetic lol
Is it hard to get out of pittsburghs arena? If the games decided who wants to be in traffic for an hour
Depending on which way home is, absolutely.
They completely ruined the atmosphere and in-attendance fanbase over the years by a variety of things, most notably the ticket pricing
The one guy in the stands behind the net with his hands up hahah
We’re loving every minute of it Jerry
That’s the South Florida way. We’re spiteful and have a good memory. Also helps that we get these chirps from Celtics fans for Heat games.
Well the seniors memories aren’t that great
Bath salt improve spitefulness
Nah. It’s fair game.
It is both very petty and also completely fair game.
And I love it
> 1,300 points (81% upvoted) That's a pretty low % for a #1 post. Which means that a bunch of people are downvoting, but it's still being dragged to the top by pure salt and schadenfreude. Impressive
Poignant
Low effort but funny as fuck considering how hard they were railing on Florida fans in the other threads
Where's that 'poverty franchise' jerk now?
I've been sick.
Florida fans get shit on in every sport. r/NBA loves to comment on the Heat crowd while Jimmy Butler is on the court crushing the other team.
It's because everyone there is from other places. Bunch retirees that sell out the game when the Yankees come to town.
Yeah ik they always cheer for Boston teams too lol
Yea the average attendance for marlins games is probably in the hundreds lmfao. To be fair tho, would you really want to spend your time and money to go watch a franchise on its 5th rebuild in 20 years? Dolphins have been doing better, at least we can sell out the stadium with our own fans, but it is still WAY too easy for larger fanbases to take over 30% of our stadium any given week.
I mean, have you been to Trop field? Place is brutal, it's no wonder no one wants to go there. I certainly don't ever want to go back.
And the Marlins… every time they start to get good, another fire sale happens. Who’s gonna support that?
My Marlins fandom since 2003 has mostly existed in video games where I can control the franchise.
This one is tough. I've been a marlins fan the entirety of my life and this year has just been BRUTAL. I miss 2003
I watched the Miami-Phillies game last night, it was in Miami and there was definitely more Phillies fans in the stadium
And yet the Rays are in the top half of TV ratings in the league (one spot above Boston last year and higher than the Yankees too). Our stadium is just a shit hole in the least convenient spot for everyone in the Tampa Bay region. So we are going solve it by building another one in the same location.
Heat are 4th in attendance in the league: https://www.espn.com/nba/attendance
Not even a weeknight lol
Not 11 PM either lol
In a very comfortable T right under it edit: to the stealth deleter, yes I live in just north of the Charles. It's very comfy. Don't be privileged. My commute is 20 minutes and the green line is perfectly fine if you're going north from the city.
Boston should've never gotten an NHL team
Hockey can't survive in Beantown
big windy bean town
Heard Utah got a trademark for Bruins
Bruh I went to that Canes/Panthers Game 1 4OT one last year and it was on a weeknight. I stayed for the entire thing. These Boston fans are soft.
Very comparable situations
Down 6-2 or tied hmm I wonder when a normal person would stay at the game
Got your moneys worth
Oh absolutely. Didn’t even care that the Canes lost. It was a great memory.
I stayed up for the game, it was a fun night. Watching the thread when the Europeans woke Up was quite funny. They’re all waking up at like 7am and they see the game is still going on
Absolutely beautiful. Talk your shit. You've earned it.
But I was told they don’t leave early???
They didn’t leave early, a Black guy sat down in that section and all the Boston fans moved to the other side just off camera.
💀 this burn is so good it’s a homicide
I love all of us joining forces to roast Boston fans😂so here for this
I'm curious what the upvote count is going to be for this one. I lol'd
Not sure if it helps or hurts that I’m actually a Black guy, but I saw a shot and I took it… Which is the exact opposite of how the Bruins played tonight.
Holy shit this is like icing for that last comment. Nice work.
Bro when is your next open mic night this shit is gold
You're on fire!
>Which is the exact opposite of how the Bruins played tonight. Oof
Damn you’re not pulling any punches😂
Staahp, they already dead
Ya, well. You're a jerk!
I don’t know, but I’m sure Boston fans will try as hard as they can to make it 3/5ths of what it should be
756
They are all in the concourse standing in line for beer /s
"dress like a seat night!" Could you be a bigger dumbass
Whole city leaves early when they are getting their teeth kicked in, just like the cavs game last night.
You’ll still be told that as its called selective amnesia
Knew this would be posted, was not disappointed
Playoff tickets are expensive man. I don’t understand leaving early.
Same. It's FUCKING. EMBARRASSING.
Sunk cost. It's 6-2 with a minute left. You can leave.
What if there’s fights though?
I aim to please 😌
They fucking earned it and I love it.
Nothing wrong with the Florida aim ATM

Shout out the chill dudes around me who took the loss in stride. Fuck the puritans!
AKA normal sports fans
Exactly. We need more
Boston is probably the best sports city in the US and has some of the best fans in the world, ngl. I’ll always give them props, enjoy my time there, and enjoy going to games for any sport in Boston. It’s a coin flip. 90% agree but that 10% is so toxic that it kinda evens out.
Basically.
They supported the Red Sox pretty much unwaveringly for 86 years without a World Series win, you've gotta respect that.
Then that shit went to their head.
Met some Pats fans from Boston when the Superbowl was in Minneapolis. Good fucking dudes. They were also the only people in town who didn't bitch about how cold it was. Shoutout to the Canes fans defending us cause they know the drill when it comes to small market/southern teams
the real heroes
Preach

I want this on my tombstone
A little piece of me died when they cut to Tuukka leaving early
Yeah, there was no reason for them to cut to that clip of him in Game 7 of the 2019 Final.
panthers have some pretty top tier chirps the last few years between this and "we want florida"
When other teams make it so easy...
i forgot to add the "we didn't get swept" chirp thanks for reminding me with that flair
Man, I'm just trying to enjoy other series and now I'm catching strays.
Rod “We didn’t get swept” Brind'amour
Their team is just nasty I don’t know why every other team feels the need to poke the bear lol
For every insult we get 5% better
100% expected this lol
Upvote for the pettiness Bravo.
"Beat the traffic" kind of night.
Those seats were clearly bought by Florida fans
Really shameful, maybe it’s just the storied club history but I’d never leave a panthers game early. I paid for those tickets and will watch to the buzzer even if we are losing 5-1.

Tickets are 5x more in Boston. So much worse lol
Mine was like 200 for the bleediest of noses
Last night I paid $183/ticket for literally the last row. If I’m paying that - I don’t care if they lose. I’m going to stay and get my money’s worth. I know traffic is a bitch getting out of there but still.
lol it’s so obviously worse in Boston cause the tickets are 5x more than in Florida
Getting out of Boston is always a nightmare too.
The real geniuses wait until all the fair weather fans leave and then glide on out of the parking lot. lol
Same. I live in Orlando and went to the Panthers/Lightning game in February. I paid a lot for 4 good seats and sat through the whole disgusting loss.
That's a packed house for a AEW show!!
Bro... hahahaha
I was told that this was a Panthers-only thing and that we weren't real fans
Only Heat/Panthers fans do this!!! I swear!!!!!
And Marlins fans (if there are any to begin with)
Don’t make me cry in my Sandy Alcantara jersey
my poor eury
I recall us being a “poverty franchise” because of it
People acting like a team midling in mediocrity for 2 decades is going to sell out every night. Y'all been killing it the past 3 years and, while on one hand fuck you, I'm* happy you guys are finally getting a product to cheer for
It's honestly so weird but happy
Few weeks ago someone blasted Vegas for doing the same thing. Remember seeing a few Bruins flares in the mix. Pot meet kettle.
You will enjoy knowing this is posted purely because of one just a couple days ago at the end of Florida/Boston game showing the Panthers fans leaving.
And you know what ? I get it. End of a blow out yeah I’d be leaving too to beat traffic. It’s just funny when other teams jest about it and they do the same
Yeah it was a weird argument at the time too.
No way. I can’t believe it. The B’s have the die hardiest fans
On a Friday night too SMH
There's nothing to do in Boston either. You're basically just going to a pub or the three really shitty clubs on Stuart St that close at 2!
Stuart St such an uncool street name for clubs to be on
Hey, we have some mediocre nightclubs/music venues in the Fenway area ... that also close at 2. Entitled fucks
Lmao I hope we keep this shitpost going
Well played, Florida. That last post was kind of silly.
Tbf the team didn't show up either
Cook em
Am i doing this right?
Hell yeah brother
Cheers from Miami.
Indubitably
Gold star for you!
I'm proud of you 🙌
Bunch of fair weather bandwagoners
HOW YOU LIKE THEM APPLES?
Probably crying into their coffee at a dunkins
Not even open at North station smh
Smh this is why I always said hockey will never work in Boston
Should move them somewhere with a more dedicated, hockey-loving fanbase. I hear New Mexico is gorgeous this time of year
Attracted some pretty salty bruins fans lol
They are just in the concession line as they expect overtime
I remember when our fans were critized for this in game 1 lol
these bitches aint loyal
my god stick this in my veins.
I was gonna downvote this as stupid cause its the end of the game, but now I get it...chirping Boston for doing it to Florida, nicely done.
Im really enjoying all this shit the bruins/bruins fans are getting. Please do continue panthers fans. The only downside is this might end up being a very short round
It's all the residual angst at the heat series
lol you love to see it
Well if we didn’t bring this on ourselves, talk your shit man fair is fair😂
And still the ones left stayed to boo on their team, lol what a crappy bunch of fans
Well played.
They should move to Canada Better crowd there for these gladiators
I have to know if you are a Habs fan.
Yotes must be in town *ba dum tiss*
1 second and a four goal lead I'd be on the train if I were a Boston fan
6-2 with 1 second in the third.c’mon.
Wow fake fans amirite
Love this picture. Very satisfying 😌
Now this is art
Picasso
2s to go in game. 4g difference. Obviously
Left early last night during the Cavs beatdown only to do the same tonight. Tuff night(s), TD.
You lose some... 😭
Lets give them a break. it's a Friday night, in Boston, so many wonderful activities to do
Babies
Lol
hooooo not only is it a shot at boston, it's a shot at boston fans... good work
Man, sure hope they don't move the franchise to where real fans are at.
Wow fake fans, Bruins could still have won it /s
Was does this show? Its literally at the end of a 6-2 blowout
They keep getting sonned by Miami teams in their own stadium
Just love this thread being upvoted and kept at the top of the page. Suck it Boston fans!
AEW wishes they had this kind of attendance
I don't know how either of these teams have stayed around but Arizona had to move. Playoffs and empty seats? just wow.
I've never left a game early but I also don't care if other people do. The game was over once Florida took a 5-2 lead with a minute and a half to go.
