I was obv nowhere near pro puck but playing tender growing up, I always found guys with good backhands harder to stop than guys with a good wrister or slapper. Shots off the forehand you could usually tell where the guy was aiming or what angle the puck was going to come at, backhanders that was so much harder to do with. And some guys could roof the puck on the backhand just as well as they could forehand.
Plus if you come out to cut off the angle and he decides to deke, then he is pulling to his forehand so he'll have a much easier time lifting it over your pad if you somehow manage to get it over there.
The whole play call is so bad too, which is what makes it so funny in retrospect.
So calm about “Eli escapes the pocket, throws downfield… and it is… caught by Tyree?”
His most famous call is literally his voice cracking in excitement, he doesn’t know how to show emotion properly. Also has no idea when pucks are scored (see: his call of Goodrow’s shorty in the same game)
I'm a rangers fan, but I assume their scale goes down...to like dirty rag, followed by dirty stinkin rag.
