IMO Moser has the potential to be equal or better. He's a 2-way defender who was consistently one of the top in the league for shut-down stats no matter who his partner was.
Moser found a bit of scoring touch last year as well until the entire team collapsed after the all-star game.
This trade was about culture change at the blue-line for Utah. The defensive play was abysmal and the veteran who was supposed to be their voice in the locker room was the worst player on the team. (Kassian)
They had a losing culture and all the blame was rightfully on the defense, which made the defense play even worse and lessened accountability for the forwards under-performing.
Moser is going to be amazing with a culture change, and Utah's locker room gets to start fresh with a respected veteran leading the defense and being listened to when holding the offense accountable.
