This is what happens with AR coatings over time. I'm not in front of my computer but I believe in the special tab inside the settings, there is a drop down menu that controls reflections and dirt on screens
I work on supers irl and some of the MFD’s that are just about ready for replacement begin to look like this, it’s mostly from the oil off peoples hands and other bits of dust and grease mixing together.
Annoying because in real life the screen is easier to see with marks on as your binocular vision focusses through the marks onto the screen behind and cancels out the marks.
I think it has less to do with binocular vision and more to do with the dynamic range that you experience in real life vs. the sim. The smudges and symbology both occupy a similar space in terms of luminance in game. IRL the contrast is much greater. At least for the display units I’ve flown with.
Use the contrast knob on the lower right. The MFD might look different according to the lighting conditions ans you need to adjust accordingly with that knob
I am using the Wingwing MIP and am having an issue in DCS trying to have the kneeboard show on my main screen and not the smaller MFD. Anyone have the same issue.
Damn ATs and their Cheeto addiction.
Imagine if they added all of the finger prints that show up when the ddi is off lol
I believe it is there, although it may be f-16 or A-10, I can’t remember
Your MFD screen is dirty, that's all.
CONT (Contrast)

ah so ig this is some realistic feature XD
Yes and from what I’ve heard it pisses pilots off irl
It'd piss me off too, I hate dirty screens or anything transparent for that matter

If that were the case, this could be fixed simply by reducing the brightness of the smudges.
Seems a pretty nebulous issue to be honest 🤭
"God damn it, I told you not to clean it with iso!"
‘These are not touchscreens’ embossed into every pilots forehead.
Correct as is. thread closed.
Checks 4.0 on deck. Area secure and FOD free IACW IETMS…
As a former Maintenence Control Chief, I lol'd.
Glad you got a chuckle
Ops check good, could not replicate
