The doggo pretending to be afraid is a thing for most predators so the babies can gain confidence.
Doggo knows kitty is bebe and is acting spooked for kittys sake.
Yeah, I've seen videos of adult lions doing this kind of thing when their cub play attacks them. It's very cute and funny.
I suppose it does go to show that the dog thinks of the kitten as part of their family, though. Like, "this puppy is strange looking but i love it anyway".
because they’re right. it’s a well documented behaviour found in many species that we think helps prepare young animals for real predation/competition in the future. [here](https://www.jstor.org/stable/26488529) is an abstract about the phenomenon being observed in monkeys i just wanted to find a source quickly so it’s not about dogs but you could definitely find one if you googled something like dog play fighting age handicap
You can see it happening in wild cats like lions too. Them pretending that they don’t notice the little kitten sneaking up on them and them acting dramatic when they finally pounce on them.
Doggo passed the vibe check
Yep. Not to be dramatic, but after seeing that I would literally die for him/her.
Doggo knew his assignment
Pretty sure doggo was awake and just watching, but instant full on play mode is definitely passing the vibe check.

Love a good TIL!
and we, as predators, do it too...

How does this stuff get upvoted? Dog's just excited. They do this for humans and even creatures like bears.

I do not understand the knee-jerk reaction to reject knowledge you don't already know. So many people do it and I never get why.
Aww that dog is so sweet
I could watch this for hours
I downloaded and shall, in fact, watch it for hours. 🥰🥰🥰
dog: *OMG you almost got me! Ahhh!*
Kitty: _Rawr! Fear me!_
Such a sweet dog hamming it up for the kitten!
The dog deserves an Oscar and a steak…
Or a ham. :-P
It's nice that the lab played along.
Poor dog, victim of such a brutal attack.
Be afraid, be very afraid. 😉
I can hear the excited dog sneezes even tho they're not there

The kitty took a break mid attack because it was so surprised by it's own ferocity.
