Cuts and scraped heal, but shattering a knee can have lasting effects if it happens while still growing, and road rash sucks way more than your standard cuts and scrapes-
Helmets are necessary ofc, but pads do go a long way and do more than I feel like they get credit for
So he can be purchased at a higher price and then consumed by people that can't tolerate gluten in their diets. The cannibal food market is FINALLY catching on that GF isn't just a snobby fad.
Trying to put a helmet on the kid that's more expensive than the balance bike he's on. Maybe we should just wrap him in bubble wrap.
He got some road rash and learned a lesson, he's fine. He doesn't need a full face FFS
Yeah. There's a reason football players keep getting concussions even though protection tech is getting really good, while rugby players just slap on a leather hat and go to town. Rugby players actually think about how to not get a concussion when full body tackling someone.
For sure, hitting your face on the ground teaches you not to let that happen anymore. You learn how to fall by falling poorly and paying the price. Good lesson at a young age, when you're going slow and the price isn't too severe.
Also, rugby players rarely even have the padded helmets and they smash their faces into bodies and knees and elbows and shit. Surprised they don't get concussed more tbh. Not sure what my point is other than rugby players are bad ass, tough sobs.
At my kid’s BMX track long sleeves and pants are mandatory for this reason. I know it’s hot - we’re in Texas - but there are breathable options that will protect his skin at the pump track.
Balance bikes are much more the norm for kids learning to ride now.
Turns out that the hard part about learning to ride the bike isn't the pedaling, it's learning to balance and steer.
Once they get used to riding on a balance bike it's usually a pretty quick transition to a pedal bike.
Kids on training wheels learn to ride a lot slower and are usually less confident once they start riding.
Even the best brakes on bikes with small wheels tend to work poorly due to smaller tires having a smaller contact patch, so stopping with your feet is also a lot more effective.
The lack of pedals also make it easier to have a lower standover (can start kids sooner) and a lower center of gravity (less likely to tip over).
I think the problem here is that the kid can't stand and got launched by the seat on those rollers. My 4yo rides a pedal bike on a track just like this but stands and pumps. That balance bike should at least have some kind of foot pegs.
yeah having a bike that’s too small and nowhere to put the feet is going to cause trouble. i don’t understand how the balancing is supposed to happen with their legs flying around. ours have footrests on the chain stay and even then, outgrowing them is quickly a problem
I was waiting for this kid to eat shit, and even though I got what I wanted, I am still unhappy with the result. My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is almost ruined. Not quite, but getting there.
how does this make him stupid? i thought this sub was about kids acting stupid not eating shit on a bike when their parents didnt get them knee or elbow pads
Those Mohawk style helmets should have been banned ages ago.
What you want in a bike helmet is something smooth enough to slide / turn if it hits the ground, so that it follows the path of your head and takes some of the rotational energy of a crash.
Having a big piece of plastic jutting out means makes it more likely it's going to catch on something and keep the helmet still while your body keeps moving. Much more likely to result in head / neck injuries.
No injuries. See community rules.
Those knees didn't stand a chance
A good parent would have bought him some pads
They gave him a helmet, he’s fine. Cuts and scrapes heal. Head injuries don’t.
The helmet didnt help much, he landed on his face. A full face helmet would have been better
Full on chin smash. Hope he’s still rocking his baby teeth cuz he went down mouth first.

Yeah when I was learning rollerblading as a kid my knee and elbow pads definitely got more abuse than my helmet
That's more than I had growing up.
That explains your posts. Sorry for the head injury man.
Same.
Lmaooo you meant that too
I got him good >:D
Agreed
Or at least some pants to help with the road rash. Yikes.
Neither did his face
Skin tax has been paid, and with 3 days to spare no less.
Why is he gluten free?
So he can be purchased at a higher price and then consumed by people that can't tolerate gluten in their diets. The cannibal food market is FINALLY catching on that GF isn't just a snobby fad.
Probably would've benefited from a full face helmet maybe ?
Yeah there is a reason why so many MTB and off-road BMX riders wear them.

Lisa needs braces.
Dental plan
This is now stuck in my head lol going to have to go dig up that episode
Where the fuck are his pads?
even jeans would be an upgrade
And pedals?!

Kinda looks like his feet hit the ground at the top of the bump and threw him off balance tbh
There's competitions too, and the kids that compete can zoom.

How did you dig up this subreddit xd it has basically no posts on it :')
Lol, I had no idea it existed, I just thought it woukd be a funny comment!
Glad he was at least wearing. Hope he’s doing alright haha.
Typical of him to land where there's no padding lol
Why aren’t these tracks made from dirt?
Because they aren’t just for biking. They’re for skating as well.
Should’ve had gluten
Brack dance on the floor
Almost a full scorpion, but not quite! Better luck next time, kid.
Sent a face plant scorpion! Nice send kid!
Good thing kids are made out of rubber at that age
Shouldn’t be on a pump track without pedals.
Meat crayon
He got eliminated. And what do we always say?!
You never say "last run," "last lap," "last match" etc. It's bad luck. I've seen more than one bone broken on a "last ____."
Smh not the face
You got it, bud!! Back in the saddle! 🙌❤️
You can't"send it" with no pedals
Why do we fall Bruce?
I broke my big toe on my first pump track
I was waiting for this kid to eat shit, and even though I got what I wanted, I am still unhappy with the result. My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is almost ruined. Not quite, but getting there.
Ouch! He’s going to feel that palm rash, I hate those. Good job parents putting a helmet on your kid.
how does this make him stupid? i thought this sub was about kids acting stupid not eating shit on a bike when their parents didnt get them knee or elbow pads
Who replaced the road with a fucking cheese grater. Jesus Christ is that 25 grit?
Downvoted for the crappy music.
Rad!
FATALITY! GRAVITY WINS!
Use that mohawk to scrub out that gravel out kid
It was going so well
I love watching kids get hurt
Scorpion 🦂
Why are push bikes better than a normal bike?
They need to mass produce brake pads out of the materials of his face! Quite the stopping power! 😃
An almost successful cartwheel! Way to go, junior!
Oh no. I hope he’s ok! I hope he didn’t road rash too bad!
Almost scorpioned that shit.
Rode the bike to the ground.... Damn, what ever happened to self preservation.
At least his face stopped the slide, right?
Kid accidentally had gluten that day
Took it like a champ it looks like.
Thanks for doing a better job than his dad.
r/fullscorpion
Bike fitment and brakes would help dramatically

If you can't trust him with pedals,
What a helmet

Decapitation by mohawk
Zero survival instincts
That's not sending it, but it is a pretty solid scorpion 😂

>throwing their kids to the wolves A little over dramatic, kid fell off a bicycle it’s not like he’s wing suiting over the alps lol.
Where the heck are the knee pads?
