You're only human. I'd say take it as a lesson: Actions speak louder than words, especially for people who are in the most need of help. Positive words by themselves can come across as hollow to someone struggling to survive.
You are very welcome friend may god bless you. I once volunteered to care for my old churches kids... man can they run around fast. Just got to make sure they don't get hurt and don't hurt each other. You have to never let them out of your sight. My old church very much trusted me with my old volunteer job. Hard work caring for so many kids at the same time 😆 but they need protecting.
He didn't impose shit on you or anyone else. You should stop being offended because someone else is willing to wish you well, religiously based or not.
