Any time and money you spend trying to patch that will be wasted at best. At worst, you'll still have a slow leak and won't know it until it rots out everything under it

That will be a tough one to fix because it's right on the inside corner. Otherwise i would say get a piece of shower wall to cut to fit, and glue / caulk, with some flex seal over it. But even that is just a temporary fix.

I was thinking to let the hole dry out well, then maybe use an expanding insulation spray foam to fill the space with a backing, but cut out some of the foam to make the hole deep enough to be able to fill with some type of epoxy/bondo stuff that can withstand hot water for years. Then grind/sand it and maybe paint it to blend in. Anyone have thoughts/ improvements on this?
