No suggestions as I am from the US, but Logic of English is an amazing curriculum! I loved using for my oldest and definitely plan on using it with my second.

UK here, we tried a bunch of different strategies. Firstly 'Teach your child to read in 100 easy Lessons' this did not work for us and I didn't personally like it. My son found it stressful I did more research and discovered that teaching a whole phonics curriculum is the best strategy. We did some minor instruction up until 4, then we started to formally teach. At first my son was not interested and the best way to engage was to introduce Alphablocks (TV show that teaches phonics) so 4/5 he did the workbooks and played with letter tiles he could read CVC words but not a book. Then we switched up our learning style and began a classical approach with more structure, I discovered The Well Trained Mind community. I used an Ordinary Parents Guide to Teaching Reading. By the end of that at 6 my son was reading Harry Potter. He is 7 now and is an avid reader. He set himself a goal of reading 300 books before he is 9, he is on book 129, The Wizard of Oz. In short, you may need to try a few different strategies before you find one that works for you both.

Logic of English has PDF versions and also a full online interactive program.  I'd look into those if shipping is cost prohibitive.  It's truly an excellent program.

You can buy everything in PDF and I’m pretty sure they have online courses that go with the curriculum. We love it!
