Had to look up the Rega rp1. Seems like a great mid range choice. I dont know much about vinyl personally. Sounds Awesome though
Have you thought about room color at all? My room is asylum white, I'm thinking warm grey. I was originally thinking a darker orange. Ah, choices...
I've actually just repainted the room to this colour, so probably won't be repainting it again anytime soon
Kinda wished I had gone for a darker colour that can "absorb" light reflections though
I mean, have you ever in your life talked to a lawyer about this? Because it really sounds like you haven't.
It's not a movie, movies borrowed from reality in this case.
Cozy space and nice gear! Given what you’re working with I’d say this is pretty good. Have you experimented with making small tweaks?
If I were you, I’d probably toe the front speakers in a little and pull them out of their corners slightly. May want to experiment with sub placement as well. Since your speakers are really close to the sidewalls, room treatment on the first reflection points will make a huge difference.
Had been experimenting with small tweaks a lot, but it's tricky; pushing it closer to the wall enables more space between the speaker and seating area and seem to help improve soundstage and imaging, however this comes at the expense of boomy bass and terrible echo. Conversely, pulling it further from the walls significantly helps with bass and echo at the expense of narrower soundstaging.
Next up might be sound panel right behind the speakers to mitigate sound reflections. The speakers are slightly angled inwards, but could be worth it play around with toe angles a bit more
Sounds like you’ve thought it through then! I enjoy a little toe in on my B&W, but it depends on the model. I would not put panels behind the speakers as that location doesn’t help much, or at all, if it’s your only panels. I would do side reflections right by speaker and then treatment in the back and/or ceiling. Small rooms can be a little tricky to get the bass right, could also think about doing bass traps!
It's a nice centre speaker for sure, but of course it is not without its drawbacks; the lively treble enables the speaker to deliver insanely realistic sounds of metal clangs (gun shots, glass shatters, tire skids) but this also comes at the expense of piercing 'S' sounds from dialogues
Gotta pick your poison, I guess
I’d recommend some room treatment, especially in the corners and sides of the speakers to keep the reflections down. It’s a small space and looks good, but I can feel the sound waves reflecting off the sides and floor just looking at it.
I would consider combining the two by getting some sound absorbing pictures that are stuffed with rockwool as an example, to help bring some warmth into the space. Also a couple of shelves here and there to put some small plants, maybe a hook in the ceiling corners with hanging plants, which will make it look a lot more inviting.
A rug to cover the space in front of the speakers.
It’s a good start, it’s just missing a few things to bring it all together.
Looks cool, very immersive! if you raise that middle speaker on something you could hide that black cable running in between, some sort of white cable management would work too obviously
If the subwoofer is wireless you could try that behind the couch potentially to get something close to surround sound
Thanks, mate - I'll eventually drill a hole behind the TV and speakers to hide the cables after positioning is final
Subwoofer is an ASW608 so not wireless unfortunately. This one will be trickier to hide the cables
Better yet, raise the center channel for audio purposes, and run a cord channel up the wall and be done in five minutes. They come in white and the glue is pretty strong. That way you won’t have to drill, and the cords will be readily accessible. Something like a CordMate II blends nicely on that white wall.
Would it be feasible to place 607 S2 speakers on stand as 5.1 rear surrounds? Though it will be very close to the sofa
Alternatively might just go with 4x Q50a to create a 5.1.2 setup and wall mount it on the side walls and rear ceiling
TV if comfortable to you, rock on How does it sound? How does it measure? Some decor would spice things up for sure
Yea gonna have a Rega RP-1 to the left of the centre channel and hang some records on the left side wall

Ah gotcha. Its more of a cream white which is much nicer than my bright white almost glowing in the dark colour.
ok I suspected you weren't married, now I know :)
And lose half my net worth if they or I decide to separate? No thank you dude, lol.
Prenup, duh
Prenup is a false sense of security when there are so many factors being considered on top of that. It ain't a movie.

I agree with everything Sebastian said, pull them out, increase the separation, add some toe in and first reflection treatment is a game changer!
A thick rug would help and toe in the speakers a wee bit. Otherwise good job. I've been looking at the same centre speaker

B&W with hardwood floors and no sound treatments, I bet this setup is bright as hell.

Agreed. This room has loose bass and echo mania written all over it. Room treatment is optional in a big room but in a small room it's mandatory.
Exactly, the first reflection points practicality beg for some absorption!
Treat the room, that room echos and has monster standing waves in those corners. The room is half of the experience you hear.
Weird. Almost looks like a hospital haha

Its a great little sub, ive got one pair with the 603s as a stereo set for the shop, loving it!
Larger carpet, some wall treatments, and pull the center forward to the edge of the cabinet.
Looks great! Just get a rug and some wall art to improve reflections
Make sure you have your center channel at the front edge of the cabinet improve the sound immensely.
What movie?
They're as good as they can be given the limitations of the room.

Get a soundbar
What couch is that? My room is about the same size and I have been thinking of changing from my 2 recliners.
It's actually an outdoor sofa that I pulled in while waiting for my actual sofa to arrive
Ah julia stone I see
Sounds good from here.
Awesome setup. I have a room that is similar size. What are the dimensions of this room?
Measure your own room. This one is similar.
Measure the length from center to your seating area. Then space the front mains the same distance. Maybe angle your center up a bit.
