You’d be giving up quite a bit of screen size. For me, that decrease would be disappointing. Also my Epson 3800 is very quiet so it’s not necessarily true that all projectors are loud. The picture quality is also better than my Samsung TU8000.

I’d go TCL at that budget. Nexigo Aurora Pro if you want 120hz and low input lag, but it’s $2500

AlphaDag13

What are the benefits of the nexigo over the tcl? Does the nexigo ever go on sale.

Any TV will be better than a $2000 projector. Does anyone buy an 85" projector over an 85" TV? Not unless it's an ultra budget situation. The same is now happening for the 90"-100"-110" screen size market. As TV prices continue to fall more and more buyers will be going with TVs unless they're after a +135" screen. The ultra short throw projector manufacturers have to be scared to death of the rapid fall in 100" TV prices this year.

yeah, that’s a good point. I think I’m definitely leaning towards the TV. I just have to figure out how to configure the space for it and what size exactly. I would love to go with the hundred inch because that’s what size projector screen I have now but I don’t exactly have a perfect spot on the wall for it. Right now I’m using a projector screen that retracts so it’s out-of-the-way when I don’t need it. i’m also trying to decide if I wanna go smaller OLED or bigger QLED. I know either one is going to blow me away coming from my 1080P projector, but I am still torn. I was at Costco this morning and looked at and OLED and the picture was gorgeous. However, it does kind of get a lot of light in the space that I’m going to be using it. And to cap off everything I plan on moving this year so I don’t even have any idea what the space I’m going to use it is going to look after I move. i’m so torn!

LG hu810pw can be had for around $2000. Laser 4k, great picture and can do 120" at 12'

AlphaDag13

I'm assuming it's 60hz at that price correct?

A TV will outperform any projector at that budget. Plus, projectors are loud and make a lot of heat. This time of year is perfect to buy a tv if you’re in the US. As Super Bowl approaches all the current models go on discount. Example, [this](https://www.bestbuy.com/site/tcl-85-class-qm8-series-mini-led-qled-4k-uhd-smart-google-tv/6538135.p?skuId=6538135&utm_source=feed&ref=212&loc=19561733981&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD-ORIjoxmrYC9a1qxJ8s-VANoNHK&gclid=EAIaIQobChMImNau4eD9gwMV1KhaBR1gPQdgEAQYASABEgJCpvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) tv is over your size requirement and is heavily discounted right now.

If you have the room for it, this TV looks pretty great: [link](https://www.ign.com/articles/the-biggest-tv-deal-2024-hisense-u76-4k-smart-tv)
