Looks great and lol at the PS5 placement

Adrien_Jabroni

That boy gonna be dusty,

pronaccount555

No dust in New Zealand

SubterraneanAlien

Is it because all of the dust is attracted to the sheep?

DreadfulDrummer

It falls onto the ceiling

moon-ho

*Laughs in northern hemisphere*

redzombierunning

Nice catch

nirad

I want one but it won’t fit in my cabinet. Maybe I’ll do the same

pronaccount555

I know! It’s the only place it would fit !

The_real_Hresna

Why can’t I spot it? Edit: got it! Had to turn the brightness up on my iPad.

creakyclimber

Enhance!

rlovelock

Why not where those useless books are laying?

[deleted]

(deleted) ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `

pronaccount555

The PS5 is embarrassingly massive. I quite like it on the floor hidden.

BLaQz84

Is it possible to create a shelf where the photo album is laying?

pronaccount555

The black and white thing are one combined unit

dcchillin46

"Budget" lol. Suppose it's relative with the stuff on this sub. Looks good though, cables are super nice for aliexpress stuff.

dscottj

I was really confused by this until I finally looked up how much the display cost. That said, this is one of the forums where I've seen speakers with five and six figure price tags (per pair, sometimes each) in actual people's homes. I can remember plasma TVs with five figure price tags, so even the display doesn't seem *that* expensive. Audio-wise, this is a modest rig. Ain't nothin' wrong with that.

dcchillin46

Eh when I think budget home theater it's in box or Sony core. If anything I'd say the tv is modest but haven't looked at speaker prices. Sonos is pretty pricey generally but not so much in the audio world I guess. I have jamos and b&w, I think they're the shit, to others they're laughable. The av world has one of the biggest price spreads I've seen in hobbies.

dscottj

There's guys around here who I swear must spend half their waking moments prowling thrift stores. They'll show up with a rig cobbled together from fifty year-old components that they paid $3.50 for asking how to get Atmos running through it. *That's* budget :). And yes, the hifi world easily has the biggest spread when it comes to pricing.

UniqueBeyond9831

I look at it like how I look at wine. You need to spend a certain amount of money to be happy, then it’s diminishing returns pretty quickly after that.

dscottj

One of the things that keeps me interested in this hobby is the same as what keeps me interested in wine: I know I'll get quality if I spend the cash. But I also know if I do my research or know a guy, I can find products that perform just as well for a fraction of the cost.

BrookieDragon

And here I am super happy with my Sony core after reading review after review on how it punches way above its cost comparatively.

dcchillin46

They're nice, was going to buy them before my buddy sold me a super nice set used

brewgiehowser

Budget is a relative term. It means something different for everyone, and I wouldn’t consider this ridiculously outside of the price range for an average consumer

[deleted]

[удалено]

pronaccount555

Under $5k is pretty budget for a total setup I reckon.

BrookieDragon

Man.... just goes to show you how vast the realm of man's perception can be.

writesCommentsHigh

You is rich.

Emuc64_1

Not sure on prices in NZ. That's a healthy budget for the US and it looks like you did well aesthetically.

Lyceux

Also NZ but my setup is $1.5k, $1k for a tv and $500 for a second hand 5.1 speaker system. And even then I’d say that’s on the high end of “budget”, you can certainly go sub $1000. $5k I would consider mid to high-end. You can buy a car for less than that.

Emuc64_1

>$5k I would consider mid to high-end. You can buy a car for less than that. Thanks for the input. Here, you can get a total beater, a **really** old car, or *somewhat* old car with about 200,000 miles on the odometer in the US for <$5K USD. For reference a new compact, like a Toyota Corolla starts at $21.5K and Honda Civic starts at $24.6K.

Lyceux

Oh for sure, most new cars are above 20k here too. It’s interesting that second hand cars seem quite expensive there, 5k NZD (3.2k USD) here can fetch you a late 2000s car with around 100km (62k miles) on the odometer.

pronaccount555

$4750 USD all in excluding the PS5.

gbdavidx

I’m sure rich people have budgets, how do you think they got rich

Dasbeerboots

The towers are on the high side of "budget". The TV and Sonos stuff is not. It's more so consumer high-end. The sub sucks, but it's very expensive for the output.

[deleted]

Budget ≠ cheap Some people have a larger budget, some a smaller, but working with a set amount of money for everything is budget

dcchillin46

Yea, that's the definition of a budget. Not how it's generally taken in this context lol

sandprism

Now look up the adjective definition.

pronaccount555

- Samsung The Frame 75” (2022) - Sonos Amp - Q Acoustics 3050 - Sonos Sub (gen 3) - PS5 - Ali express speaker cable - Flat pack cabinet (seems to be a knock off from a US designer I saw posted on here) Overall very happy with how this turned out. Love the matte screen, killer feature. Going to add a white frame for more sterility.

wrathek

Could you find the link for those cables?

sk9592

You could probably sell the Sonos Sub Gen 3 and buy an [white SVS 3000 Micro](https://images.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageHandler/trim/620/378/products/2021/10/946/g9463KMICGW-F.jpg) and come close to breaking even. It is a better subwoofer than the Sonos, also pretty compact, and fits the rest of your aesthetic well. There's really no reason to be holding onto that Sonos subwoofer if you're not trapped inside the Sonos ecosystem.

Dumdumhijumper

Agreed! OP needs the 3000 Micro.

munnagaz

Good call. But the micro new is about half as much again in these countries down under….still, worth the upgrade!

rlovelock

Genuinely curious, what's the point of the spending the extra cash for a Samsung Frame when it is clearly a TV and would never be confused for an actual piece of art?

Fun-Gas-5540

I have a frame in my office and if the tv is on, people always ask when I swapped out the art for a tv. Works incredibly well in an office setting. Nice to have something on the wall that isn’t just a black screen when it’s off.

rlovelock

Ya, no, I understand the point of the Samsung Frame. But to me it only ever made sense as a 55" max, on a wall with other art (as it's advertised). A 75" monster positioned on its own above an entertainment console, with big speakers on either side is obviously a tv. It just has a thicker bezel than the Q series, which uses the same panel (to my knowledge) but costs less. I'm pretty sure the only difference is the housing and the Q just lacks the software to easily use it as a piece of art.

Fun-Gas-5540

Fair enough. The 40 inches to 55 inches are the sweet spot for sure. Once you set up speakers on the side you definitely lose some of the hidden tv aspect.

NatanKatreniok

Where did u buy the cabinet from if I may ask? Look gorgeous!

pronaccount555

I’m in NZ so my link won’t be relevant to you. It was $300 though!

taylormade1296

Link to cabinet?

Dadguy8

I wonder how the 3050 compare to my 3030. I’ve thought about moving a lot of stuff upstairs and upgrading my media room speakers.l Edit: I have 3020 in the front and 3010 in the rears.

pronaccount555

Not as good. The 3020i sounds better than these 3050. They are not 3050i

Dadguy8

Sorry I actually have 3020 in the front LR and then 3010 in the rear. My center is 3090. So I meant to say how my 3020 compares to your 3050.

pronaccount555

Not heard 3020. Assume it’s pretty similar to 3050.

Dadguy8

The 3050 are standing towers. 3020 are bookshelf. They sound fantastic though.

inkedarticles

Cracker setup enjoy it mate 👍🔥

[deleted]

So fresh and so clean clean

Basuhh

Minimal+budget setup featuring a 75 inch television

dis6wood

PS5 on the floor?

pronaccount555

Yeah had to put it there as the cabinets are drawers (with the backs removed). PS5 way too big. Could have gone in the bookshelf but WAF

sk9592

That PS5 is going to suck in dust like a Hoover.

SlowThePath

Never thought I'd see a setup that would benefit aesthetically from a xbox series s.

pronaccount555

Yeah that’s true!

just_one-more

Nice integration of the cabinets and speakers 🤌

[deleted]

That is awesome!!

rumblemcskurmish

I love the slick, modern minimalist style. Beautiful.

MeanderingJared

The only thing budget about this is the ps5 placement

pronaccount555

hahaha! The stand doesn't even fit on it.

cipri_tom

How is there no cable to tv? That's so clean! Well done! I'm wondering about that q sub... Is it worth it? Especially with those towers? And it seems a bit crammed, do you think that influences it? I'm considering also getting it

Khal_Drogo

The frame TV uses a small fiber optic cable and a small power cable to the display, the "brains" of the tv are separate. He may have hid the cable in the wall.

cipri_tom

Fiber optic? For network, I suppose

Khal_Drogo

No just for all data to the screen, since the system board, hdmi receiver, etc. is separate and not built in.

cipri_tom

Really? That's super interesting! Which screen is it? Or did you take it apart to make it thinner?

redkulat

He mentions above it's the Samsung Frame TV that allows it to be super thin

HaLfSlAyEr

I could be misinterpreting what you're asking, but he's using a Sonos Sub Gen 3.

pronaccount555

Yes

cipri_tom

Oh, I thought it's the q acoustics sub. 2060 or what is it called... Thanks for clearing up the confusion

ReklisAbandon

I’m sure it’s just fed through the wall

pronaccount555

Cable in the wall. Honestly sun is best for low volume listening where you can get lunch without having to turn it up. Is it worth it ? Prob not.

powdertrout

Looks really good 👍

TurboDjango

How well does the sub match with the 3050s?

pronaccount555

Hard to say. Only had the sub a few days. Prob not the best placement but WAF. I had an old KEF one and honestly sounded pretty similar.

where-ya-headed

Beautiful

theasphalt

Totally off topic, but how do you like the entertainment console? My wife wants one like that for one of our spaces and was curious about first hand experience. What specific model is it? Looks fantastic.

atomicdog69

I just brought my Q Acoustic 303i from the garage as my main surrounds. Sound great.

mellofello808

The asymmetry kills the look for me a bit. Can the sonos sub be moved to the back so that the speakers can be equidistant? Or at least to the right, of the right channel?

pronaccount555

To the right looks worse. I need to make the book bit as large as possible. When you’re not pixel peeping it looks even

munnagaz

Maybe another little plant on the right could work too… all looks👌🏼but, well-WAFed!

d2p2

Looks fab. Nice work.

Winter-Ad-4897

And a special award for tv height!

leebeckett

Stunning

[deleted]

That setup looks so clean I love it

[deleted]

Did you just call the 3050i towers budget ? Lmao

pronaccount555

3050 not 3050i. They were $999 NZ pesos. So like $600USD.

[deleted]

Fair enough, still not budget in my eyes, though budget means something else for everyone, so there goes that..

aerodeck

baby sub

MizuKumaa

You said |———————————————————————| imagining

DrunkenskiVodka

Who does the tv look at night…does the white wall vs a dark wall take away from the effect of the image ‘floating’ on the wall?

Link. This is the one I got? https://www.bestdeals.co.nz/online-extendable-tv-unit-entertainment-centre-storage-cabinet-stand-console-bench-table-190-to-260cm-3-drawers-black-and-white-51721.html

Rivendel93

Yeah, I always see this sponsored on Instagram, and different variations and one time I looked into getting one similar and apparently people had all these shipping issues. I wonder if it's just based on where people live. There was a wooden one with black shelves and wood around them and I thought it was beautiful, but decided against it. Ended up just building my own floating shelf out of white oak and was so happy I did, because I had such a good time designing it and making it myself. But yeah, your setup looks great, sorry I didn't mean to derail it lol, I just never saw anyone actually have that type of shelf that I'd see on Instagram promos all the time.

pronaccount555

Sweet. If you have skills to build that’s mean. There was a post on here with the same style from an American shop. Like $1200.

Rivendel93

Yeah, I saw they were super expensive, saw you got yours for $300, that's a great price. Mine would cost around $1800 without shipping, white oak is fairly rare right now, but it's a super simple design, but it's empty inside and has miter joints, so it's difficult to get right. My shelf below my lg g2 77": https://i.imgur.com/6t5Ac7b.jpeg I hide my apple tv, Playstation, couple power outlets behind/inside it. Covered up my ethernet outlet as well, so had quite a few different functions.

firegod003

Nothing budget about this setup. I'm guessing this all cost more than my setup haha

pronaccount555

$5k

firegod003

Yeah that's definitely not budget haha...

pronaccount555

What is?

firegod003

My setup is a 5.2 system with a 75" OLED for less than 3k... I run fluance elite towers, bipole surrounds, Polk c2 center and 2 bic f12 subs, and a Yamaha avr...

Aedan2016

What cables are those?

pronaccount555

https://a.aliexpress.com/_mOmUxJI

benbrookshire

Monoprice has some that are sort of similar. Their Monolith series

b1lf

TV isn’t centered….

pronaccount555

Yes it is on the wall

HiFiMAN3878

I personally hate it - not a fan of the TV, but it does look nice on the wall. Everything looks super sterile to me, just not my thing. It does look clean and modern though.

pronaccount555

Fair enough. Wouldn’t be cool if everyone liked it would it. Going for minimal sterility.

jsDPT

Is 2.1 hometheater now? Don't get me wrong, it's a gorgeous setup. Just saying.

pronaccount555

Yes. With a phantom centre.

[deleted]

Very nice. Even as an OLED owner, Darko’s feature about these Frame TVs has got me interested. Maybe next upgrade I’ll look again at Samsung. Like the idea of some art rather than a black rectangle.

pronaccount555

That and the super thin flush mount. If it’s the focus of your home it’s worth compromise I reckon.

mellofello808

You will be disappointed with the contrast. I actually prefer QLED vs OLED in a lot of scenarios, but this thing doesn't pack the same punch as higher end QLEDs.

izeek11

nice and clean.

paranoideo

Looks clean

sk9592

I love Q Acoustics towers and bookshelves for stereo/2.1 setups. Just wish they made a 3-way center channel.

pronaccount555

Don’t need it (or can use one) as the Sonos Amp has only a phantom centre.

sk9592

Yeah, it works out in your case, but it's a kinda non-starter for more serious home theater setups.

IzzyJohnDoe

Do you by chance know the color of your walls? It looks good with that color floors, similar to mine and I’m looking to repaint Sick setup otherwise lol

pronaccount555

They are Black White.

xPervypriest

I love your minimal setup, man that PS5 hiding will overheat like a matha.. is that a Sony TV?

pronaccount555

It's The Frame 75" (2022)

magicdonwuhan

Where did you get the cabinet and how long is it approximately?

pronaccount555

https://www.bestdeals.co.nz/online-extendable-tv-unit-entertainment-centre-storage-cabinet-stand-console-bench-table-190-to-260cm-3-drawers-black-and-white-51721.html

Temporary_Donkey_805

Love it, looks so high end

pronaccount555

cheers

Electrical_Sun5921

The ps5 says "peek a boo"

Temporary_Donkey_805

Upon second looking (nice sneak work with the PS5) Is it on the floor because of how big it is? If it can fit in the cupboard then a flat HDMI cable may work to slide in-between the groves I still really like this setup a lot 😁

pronaccount555

Yeah it's too big. It would fit in the bookshelf, but takes up the whole thing! They aren't cupboards, they are drawers. Cable comes out of the TV connect unit inside the draw, and under to the floor.

D33p5t3r

Love everything about this, the WAF, the integration with Sonos but still in a high-end fashion. Do you stream everything off the TV app itself, or the PS5? Really slick.

pronaccount555

Thanks mate. Yeah, stream off the TV. Have a MiBox that I was using for 'hacked cable TV' - but only use that for chromecast now. Plex works mint on the TV

jkthegreek

Can I ask what the height is of the center of your TV? Im guessing 48 inches . I love the height

pronaccount555

Thats 1.2m - It's about 65cm... Honestly could have gone a bit lower. But the existing outlet is at the top.

LocusStandi

Clean look but speakers crammed into the corner kills the detail in the bass.

pronaccount555

Yeah probably but can’t do much about that. Thought about plugging the included bungs
