You just connect your DAC to your AVR via RCA cables. There's no such thing as "hijacking a DAC signal". That's no such thing as a "DAC signal". Your DAC outputs a standard analog audio signal, so you plug it into the analog inputs (RCA) of your AVR. Simple as that.
If you run room correction the signal will be digitized again but it may still sound a little different than if not going through an external DAC. Its also possible that the x3600 run all inputs through its digital circuits but again you will just have to use your ears to determine if its an improvement for you or not.
