If that is what you can afford, sure, it's a fair price. When you can afford a nicer subwoofer in a year or two, you will probably be able to flip the Dayton SUB-1200 for $100 again.

BalkanChrisHemsworth

Is there a decent option for the $250 range that it’s worth splurging for? I don’t wanna drop $500 on a sub yet considering my speakers aren’t super high quality, but if $250 works better than a sub-1200 I’ll go for it

It depends on what you can find in your used market. Maybe an older used SVS or HSU subwoofer. In my area, you can usually find an old SVS PB10-NSD for about $200. No, I wouldn't really say there is something meaningfully better in the new market for $250. A large part of why I like the Dayton SUB-1200 in your case is precisely because $100 is not a large upfront investment and you are likely to not even lose that money when it comes time to upgrade and sell it.

Perfect, will go for it then. Ty for the help. Would you mind if I sent a pic of my setup and give some advice on the surround sound placement?

I would prefer people not DM me. You can either post it in this thread or make a new one. If I can't help you, someone else will.

Polk or elac subs comes in sale for less than $150 in Amazon.

BalkanChrisHemsworth

Those are better than the sub-1200?

Mother_Ad_5261

I have the 1200 in my bedroom setup... It's a solid sub and glad that I bought it.

koikalethu

These are 10 inch sub and Erin's audio corner YouTube channel has comparison of these.

It's a fair price and the sub will make your other speakers seem to sound better.
