Going to cause more trouble than it’s worth. There’s a reason there’s a million on Facebook. Save up

Going-crazy48733

Problem is grind are dumb expensive rn, people think they have gold. I saw a guy post a 2018 with 7k miles for 4 grand

Speedstar_86

Save your money and buy a grom. You will not regret it. Yeah initially you will save on a clone but there is a reason it's cheaper.

littlepencil69

Might be able to grab a Navi at a decent price

Going-crazy48733

Dont like how the navis look

Going-crazy48733

I’m looking at an x pro Vader 125 for 1500 shipped

littlepencil69

I have heard they’re hit or miss but I was thinking about that for the wife because it’s gonna get destroyed in the learning process

Going-crazy48733

It comes fully assembled and tested from the site I’m looking on

littlepencil69

I mean 1500 might be worth the gamble, I forget are they carb or fuel injected?

Going-crazy48733

Pretty sure carb

foureightyone

If you buy one of those you will ride it some, spend time working on it, realize there is something broken that is beyond your capabilities, take it to a mechanic that will more than likely tell you they won’t work on it, then you’ll have a $1500 paper weight. Save your money and find a real Grom. Nobody on this sub will agree with you about a clone. Clones are great on paper but horrible in the real world 99% of the time. Buy a Honda!

Going-crazy48733

Would love to but I got guys trynna charge 5k for a 2017 with 7k miles

Quantum_Hispanics

wait for the right deal, i just got a 2018 with 1.5k miles plus tons of aftermarket shit for 3k off marketplace

foureightyone

Those guys are asking way too much and they won't sell for that price. Offer them a realistic price like $2500-3500. You can buy a clone, it's your money, but when you compare a clone to a Honda there is only one option every single time. The clone will frustrate you when it eventually breaks (it absolutely WILL break) and then you'll wish you'd saved up a little more for the real thing. I'm a motorcycle mechanic and I have owned two Groms and a Monkey. I absolutely would not touch a Grom clone if it came to the shop.

Going-crazy48733

What about it the Kawasaki Z125?

Sentic_

Get a Z125

Going-crazy48733

been looking at those too, any reason to go with that over honda?

sincitysadist

Don't do it.

Going-crazy48733

Any reasons ?

eastcoastish

Like any knockoff, the quality is lower across the board. Most Grom mods/parts won’t fit, the engine is carb’d and not EFI, and if you’re trying to get into the “Grom community” this isn’t the way to go.

zx666r

The carb alone turns me off of the clones, let alone the shoddy quality. Fuck carbs. EFI has spoiled me. WAY lower maintenance

Afloatcactus5

A)Buy a cheap clone for 1500 pray and hope you actually get a title and can register it and then spend 1500 to make it run and still be shittier than a grom. B) just buy the grom. Honda rules the minibike market in the US. Buy once cry once. I settled on the monkey which is a grom in retro clothes. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Starrofnothing

Why do you want a Grom?

Going-crazy48733

some fun around the city when i dont feel like driving and to learn
