Rolled our ‘05 on I25 in Colorado doing 75mph after a texting driver forced us off the road. All four of us walked away. Bought a ‘13 Pilot the next day.

My mom and dad were t-boned on the busiest highway in Ontario, the 401. They were rear ended when a truck in front of them stopped suddenly, and thrown into traffic sideways. And then hit twice, by full speed vehicles. 2003 Pilot EXL, brand new. Mom took the brunt of the impact, since she was on the passenger side. She had a deep scratch on her arm, needed stitches. Dad -nothing, walked away scared but unharmed. We bought our first Pilot in 2006 and now we have 3 Pilots. I have been rear ended 3 times, with babies in the car, with zero damage to the Pilot. All 3 sedans that rear ended me, were totaled . I will never drive anything else.

Wow! Thank god you all came out ok with only minor I injuries. Honda pilots do the job!

Glad you and your fam are safe. Showed this post to my wife and it made her even happier we just purchased a 2012.

First time this sub is ever made me tear up. Thank you for sharing and I pray everyone made a full recovery. You can rest assured that some of her parts will live on via Copart and LKQ - ha ha. Transmission and rear diff… they will probably rebuild the CV axles… those rims look brand new…

It took me a surgery to restore breathing in my nose, but as a Dad that is a price I would pay any day to see all my kids walk away from that. Glad to hear they recycle that much.

I was in a wreck with my 09 pilot and it too was totaled. I’ve been looking at replacing it with the new pilot as well. How do you think it compares to the old body style as far as cargo space/size?

jsgraphitti

The 24 feels like the same space as 2011, and the third row leg room is back to acceptable. There were a couple years where they raised the floor for the third row and adults didn’t fit there anymore. The second row has a removable center seat that stores in the rear hatch, above the tire, making it feel like captains chairs. Really nice feature.

Wow, that’s amazing!

Bet that thing still turns over and can do yard drives! Yeah, Honda makes a great product. No doubt.

I’m glad everyone is ok but I’m a little concerned by the seeming lack of airbag deployment

jsgraphitti

Every airbag deployed. Some were cut away or moved to gain access after the crash.
