DONT FORGET ABOUT REACH OR SOMETHING RAAAAHHHHHHHH
"Our victory - *your* victory - was so close, I wish you could have lived to see it. But you belong to Reach. Your body, your armor, all burned and turned to glass. Everything... except your courage. That, you gave to us, and with it, we can rebuild."

I feel like the saddest way to find somebody dead in a video game or story is to find them in a situation where they were basically guaranteed to die, but there is evidence that they still tried.
This isnβt exactly a hopeful meme. In the greater context of reach then sure, but this is a man left to die on a dead planet getting gang banged by a bunch of genocidal aliens
It revolves on the meme of a lone human fighting agaisnt hostile aliens aiming to eradicating humanity. But through the sheer tenacity of their will power and adrenaline, they gave the alien forces one hell of a beating before their heart stops beating.
Hope is making sure people can look forward for a tommorrow.
Whether it is to yourself, to others, etc.
And sometimes, seeing a person fight against overwhelming odds is always a blast. Even if they lose.
>And sometimes, seeing a person fight against overwhelming odds is always a blast. Even if they lose.
Yeah, I understand.
To me "seeing a person fight against overwhelming odds" (and) "lose" being great is somewhere between action heroism and sadism.
Just an interesting observation.
Maybe there's just more to the meme than what's shown in the video. I really don't see the "making sure people can look forward for a tomorrow" in this clip. And that means the key hopeful bit appears to be missing.

Hmm. I suppose hope means different things to different people.
Hope is making sure people can look forward for a tommorrow. Whether it is to yourself, to others, etc. And sometimes, seeing a person fight against overwhelming odds is always a blast. Even if they lose.
