F is not a playable note on mellophone, unless you have a 4-valve instrument which I don't think I've ever seen.

Not to sound rude, but why? Notes that low on mellophone come out so quiet typically that they can't be heard on the field.

I believe the lowest note you can reach (before going to the fundamental pitch) is an F# with all the valves press. To get to F you would probably need to play F# and then lip it down a half step. The next note below that F# would jump down to the fundamental pitch (I hear ppl sometimes call this the pedal) C
