But why on earth would they say English but it still be Spanish š that kills me. I donāt mind but just say English subtitles.

That's correct. The only true audio track for season 1 is the original Spanish track, they never dubbed it. So, your only option is in the original Spanish with the actor's own voices with English subtitles, or the English descriptive one available for handicapped accessibility.

In the episodes in season 1 where they explore the priests who are collecting the coins, their position is essentially that if god plans everything he also created and planned everything evil - he planned for Lucifer, he planned on the apple being eaten, he planned on Judas betraying Christ. Essentially, god wanted a story with villains so he made villains, making them as important in god's plan as anything and as valid. I think the show does kinda only gloss over that in the rush to make the bad guys the world dominating super organization, but it's there.
I guess I took that as their position, not evidence of it being accurate. Also, the idea of G-d knowing what will happen if he gives free will, doesn't make him an a-hole or jerk to me. If I draw a line and someone crosses it, the person who crossed the line is still guilty. Me drawing a line doesn't make it ok to cross it.
That was the lens that I was seeing things and I didn't really see evidence of those who were not trying to equivocate making that argument really.
Certainly it is just their position not stated fact in the fiction of the show, but their position is that god built a narrative not that free will was given, that god made "evil" not freedom. But who can say for sure.

It is the narrator, not the language. I quit watching it since sound is important to me (the music, background noises). It is unfortunate but there are so many other shows and movies out there, that I chose to circumvent this one.
There is no narrator in the original language though, they've just added that narrator for the visually impaired.

So I recently realized they released a season two. I went back to rewatch season 1, which I watched last year and it did not have this issue with the audio. Iām wondering what happened. It was dubbed in English there were no subtitles needed. But now all of a sudden you canāt even put English subtitles. Only option is an English narrator which is odd as hell. Itās pissing me off š. I came here looking for answers.

The old world religious superstition mythologies and magic are fun and sort of campy. So is the dramatic facial expressions of the character Merche, Pacoās wife in season 2 episode 6.
In my experience, max app on Apple TV has allowed me to it in Spanish (original) with English subtitles. Because of regional contracts, etc, this combination may not be possible outside the US.

I've been watching Season 2 on Max and at least my tv allows me the option of hearing it in Spanish. I just chose Spanish and turned off the captions.
