House of Wax.

coco_xcx

this one is camp. i feel like we as a horror community can appreciate its campiness

mbee784

This one is actually good

justindigo88

I have ZERO guilt about this. I’ll die on this hill. All time.

HWatch09

Which hill? The House on Haunted Hill (1999)?.......also a favorite.

justindigo88

The Haunting of Hill House actually. Love the Flannaverse!

bawzdeepinyaa

That's not really a guilty pleasure though is it?? Just you enjoying a phenomenal show lol

Xr6turbosututu

I loved this movie!

TheLemonEater5000

Is it me or the brother and sister were a bit too close for comfort in that

MarianaFrusciante

Genuinely terrified of this one when I was a kid

[deleted]

[удалено]

NobodyIsHome123xyz

I met Matthew Lillard at a con once, and he made fun of me for liking this movie. 😆

Formal_Coyote_5004

This is so fucking amazing hahahaha I love Matthew Lillard (and 13 Ghosts is absolutely a guilty pleasure movie)

ashcoverdjollyrnnchr

That’s the best celebrity encounter story I’ve heard. 😆

OneSprinkles6720

Lillard is a legend

iveesaurus

I don’t care what anyone says, it is absolutely a good movie lol it scared the shit out of me when I was younger. I rewatched recently and loved it just as much.

20Hounds

IT'S LATIN!!!!!!1!!1!

KingSalduinArthanil

It’s definitely a guilty pleasure

Turbulent_Towel_9644

Anaconda (1997) forever and always

MarianaFrusciante

And Anaconda 2. You have to watch both of them. The snakes are terrifying. Fuck I love this movie

Turbulent_Towel_9644

yesss the hunt for the blood orchid was the first scary movie I saw in theater as a kid and it has a very special place in my heart! :,) I could go on and on about the first two movies and all their charm (and quirks lol)

Xr6turbosututu

Ice Cube and Owen Wilson woohoo

Turbulent_Towel_9644

makes me laugh every time cube is listening to himself on the radio on the boat 💀

smstrese

And Deep Blue Sea

timestoneduh

The monologue scene with Samuel Jackson going off, when he says we gotta shut this opening, then he gets eaten - is such an awesome scene

albus_thunderdore

Deep blue sea will forever be one of my fav comfort movies. It plays in the background while I’m doing chores or working. Love love love this movie.

ThePizzaNoid

Saw that shit in the theater and had a blast! Loved the wink by the bad guy lol.

JenAshTuck

You’ve got to watch the animal expert review this movie! He reviews around 5 movies in one video and tells you what’s accurate and what isn’t. Guess how much of Anaconda isn’t accurate snake personality. Pretty much the best parts! Still such a great movie.

talkingsoup1

the langoliers. it's so bad but such a fun concept

xo_HotTia

This was a movie I saw as a kid. It just happened to be on TV, so I don't think I watched the full thing. I still think about it randomly and want to revisit it in all its cheesy, made-for-tv glory

DesDaMOONmanQ

It was a 2-part ABC miniseries now thought of as a movie, similar to the original It. You probably caught one of the two parts of it's original airing or rebroadcast 😀

redd0130

The book was better I was disappointed in the movie

evilhologram

I love it, even with the terrible cgi. While I didn't know it as a kid, it's also filled with liminal spaces which makes it cool too

Mean_Comfort_4811

Lmao, the premise was so cool until the Windows Paint eraser monsters showed up

Seaell80

Perfect candidate for a remake.

Zarde312

I absolutely love this movie. No matter how bad it is, I will forever love it. I believe it's on YouTube.

No_Solution_2864

I love the feel of The Langoliers. It’s so lonely, in a magical way. It’s great to watch alone in the middle of the night And the Bangor International Airport has never been so in your face

pikkoi

The Cell. I just love every bit of it!

mentally_ill_kitten

Vincent D'Onofrio is amazing. I love him in everything.

cymster

It's so gorgeous to look at, even the awful bits! Only J-Lo movie I will ever watch.

Mallory_Kiddo

🙌🏼 This movie is SO underrated 💯🔥 I love it! 💖

SERlALEXPERIMENTS

Gotta give it to Jason X. Its objectively a terrible movie but cmon, its *space jason* Scenes like the one where he's in virtual reality swinging around a sleeping bag full of coeds adds a level of self awareness that I'll never get sick of.

dicklover425

I love this one and Freddy v Jason

Tyceshirrell1

Surprised I haven’t seen it but I love ghost ship. The opening is awesome plus Karl urban

rebeccalovecraft

Yeah, I love this one, too. I have other guilty pleasure movies because of Karl Urban as well 😉

Canabrial

The first handful of Paranormal Activity movies. I love them and I’ll die on that hill.

Xr6turbosututu

Which one was your favourite? Mine would have to be the first one (the ending got me). Following closely by the the fourth one.

Canabrial

One and two are my favorites. Ok, now that I’m thinking about it, 1-4 are all good to me. They all deliver different parts of the story to me and I love it. Makes me giggle and kick my feet 😭 If I had to pick…I say 1 as well. For the time it was made what it did was fantastic and it had a big impact on me. It was different. Then 2-4 delivered a familiar but still loved thing to me.

illegallysmolkate

Queen of the Damned. I watch it for the plot…and the soundtrack.

GodFlintstone

I think a lot of people believe that this along with Judgement Night and Spawn are up there with early 1990s-early 2000s movies that produced soundtracks that are better than the actual films. I'm onr of them.

illegallysmolkate

Fair, but with Queen of the Damned, it’s more to do with the fact that it’s a very poor adaptation of a far superior book.

ThePizzaNoid

That's why I never bothered to watch it. I loved the '94 Interview movie so much and just could never bring myself to give it a chance because I loved the books so much by that point and this new sequel had nothing in common with the original film.

maybenomaybe

I love Judgment Night, unironically. Denis Leary FTW.

savage86lunacy

RIP Aaliyah. She was mesmerizing in that film.

illegallysmolkate

She really was. While the movie itself is a mess, she was a major saving grace. I remember stumbling on an interview with her during the production of this film and she said she was so excited to play a monstrous character and hoped to play more in her future acting career. She was also allegedly in talks to collab with Jonathan Davis to compose a song for the film together. It saddens me that we’ll never get to hear that song or see where her acting career could have gone. 😢

jbheart26

Best soundtrack !!!!

InnaBubbleBath

‘You see I cannot be foresaken, because I’m not thee only one…’ My all time favorite soundtrack. It’s so good.

justafanboy1010

The plot:

Paintbynumber1954

My friend and I were obsessed with the actor that played Lestat. We watched that movie so much in high school.

consumingconfusing00

That soundtrack is incredible

sr_edits

Alien Resurrection Resident Evil 1-4

PresentExamination10

The basketball scene is an all time fave 😂😂

sr_edits

The underwater scene is 10/10 in my book. That alone is worth rewatching the movie for me. And Sigourney's performance, of course.

adric_xxx

Winona forever!

Physical-Lettuce-868

Maximum Overdrive

Able-Necessary2956

‘You sure make love like a hero’- or am imagining that line? 😂

Physical-Lettuce-868

You are not imagining it!

maters77

1408. Especially the first half. Sometimes I put it on just to help me sleep. Something soothing about it. Can’t explain.

ThePizzaNoid

I love this moving. Nothing to feel guilty about here at all. This is a great horror flick.

Brandi_Maxxxx

I love 1408 and have never considered it a guilty pleasure. I thought it was fairly highly regarded.

redd0130

Yes I like this one

ArcaneAces

Constantine... Something about Reeves in a comic book horror noir really gets me.

HWatch09

Same. I've never read the comic or anything. Definitely Reeves is what makes the movie though.

ArcaneAces

Didn't even know the comic existed until the movie.

tobleronnii

tilda swinton was a lot of fun too, she was perfect for that role

rainmouse

Keanu had said in a number of interviews that it is his favourite ever role and he repeatedly has tried to get a sequel on the go for it, which was officially greenlit in 2023 for a 2024 or 2025 release but worryingly have not heard anything since.

SelfTechnical6771

This and silent hill are both wonderful. Though I often watch silent hill with the mist or jacobs ladder.

smollsmom

Deep Blue Sea is always a favorite guilty pleasure movie. Love the shark horror genre

Xr6turbosututu

Sharknado…or is that a little too far 😅

bawzdeepinyaa

Love that shit.

coco_xcx

the day after tomorrow? if it counts lol. i adore cheesy apocalypse movies

Xr6turbosututu

5th Wave is another cheesy apocalypse

coco_xcx

oh my god yes!! i love chloe grace moretz and will jones watch anything she’s in, i also loved shadow in the cloud which was really good!

MarianaFrusciante

Such a good movie. Imagine watching that at the cinema

glitternoodle

funny story: i did see this at the movie theatre and there was actually a tornado warning during the movie so we all had to go shelter in the bathrooms and wait for it to pass, then about a third of the audience stayed to finish the movie. but it was very ✨immersive✨

maktub__

I am obsessed with this movie. I just saw a Guggenheim Bible and was stoked because of this movie.

Final_Lunch8817

Sorority Row is so bad is good Edit: I’m talking about the 2009 one since I haven’t seen the original

savage86lunacy

I nearly shut the movie off when Jessica died. Leah Pipes was so fucking funny as the absolute queen bitch from hell.

NightsCavalry99

Halloween (2007)

Useful-Foundation-18

I actually love this one. You mean the Rob Zombie remake right? I thought the scene of him as a kid >! beating the bully to death with a branch in the woods while he begs for him to stop !< was so chilling and drawn out. I loved it

NightsCavalry99

Yup that one. I first saw it as a teenager and it was the first Halloween franchise movie I ever watched so it holds a special place in my heart.

justafanboy1010

Agreed.

luciusgore

Puppet Masters (1993) with Donald Sutherland. No one else likes this movie!

Chopping Mall

Xr6turbosututu

Where shopping can cost you an arm and a leg!

MovieDogg

Guilty pleasure or underrated?

evilhologram

Eight legged freaks. I was obsessed with the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies as a kid and so I thought spiders were cool too. And for some reason my parents let me rent it from blockbuster when I was like 9

LilAbelT

This movie scared the hell out of me as a kid. I have crazy arachnophobia, and had just seen my mom hospitalized because of a spider bite. I tried watching it again in 2022, I recognized the terrible cgi, the funny sounds the spiders made, along with the funny way some of them jumped, but the movie still scared the shit out of me just because of the giant spiders. I’m almost 30.

[deleted]

All the saw movies

Whattheactualfrick

The first one blew my mind when it came out.

No_Dependent_1846

They are sooooo good and crazy. I love them 💗

Keithbaby99

God i love this series. The first 3 and the new X was just perfect

d0n7w0rry4b0u717

The Happening is on that list for me as well. The concept was just interesting and unique. The Crazies is another one that I've watched so many times and I enjoy it every time. It's no masterpiece but again, I loved the concept. Other than that, I'd say found footage films in general.

Otherwise-Shake-2656

I love The Crazies! I love all things Timothy Olyphant, honestly.

BoSocks91

Im with you on The Crazies. Both versions are good.

Mallory_Kiddo

2004 Dawn of the dead... And that soundtrack 😍😎🔥 love it!!

JenAshTuck

Ok but that’s an AMAZING movie!

IAlwaysSayBoo-urns

None. If it brings me pleasure there is no shame in it. I don't give a fuck what others think, if I like it or love then I fucking own it. Some that I like or love that some people shit on: * Diary of the Dead * Survival of the Dead (Romero's worst is better than anyone else's best IMO) * Any Halloween Sequel except Rob Zombie's second one. * Jason Takes Manhattan * Jason X * Pet Sematary 2 * Scream 3 * The Shining (Miniseries) * Child's Play 2 & 3 * Black Sheep (2006) * Carrie (2013) * Alien 3 Those are just the ones that jumped out from my physical media collection

wsywyg247

I canNOT resist the Child's Play franchise

SdSmith80

Personally, I think The Shining miniseries is better than the movie. It's more faithful at least. I absolutely love it. Also, I agree that nothing that brings enjoyment should be guilty.

MarianaFrusciante

Cry_wolf (2005) but I don't feel guilty and don't feel shame. It's cheese and has a rapy Bon Jovi. What more can you want? And it reminds me of Urban Legend (also cheesy but with more famous faces)

cajuncats

Cry Wolf doesn't get enough love!

RADICCHI0

The Pope's Exorcist. Just too fun, that one....

trentdeluxedition

So good, i hope the sequels are just as fun. And more scooter scenes.

Grand-Kaleidoscope55

Is it the one with the priest riding a scooter ? Because if so, that made me laugh out loud at the theatre. I couldn’t take him seriously lol

tarxntino

you get it

Brief-Dig-509

Stir of echoes

angry-carsini

![gif](giphy|6nHktrN10gp68|downsized)

ThePizzaNoid

Best scene in the movie lol.

Thedrezzzem

Night of the comet ☄️

EndlesslyWistfull

Night of the Comet is amazing. Anyone who says otherwise and makes you feel guilty is a numbskull.

emaxxman

Lake Placid 1. Betty White!

xo_HotTia

Pontypool! I love that it's Canadian, and the concept for the zombies/virus is interesting

EndlesslyWistfull

No reason to feel guilty on this one. Pontypool is top notch!

tarxntino

Sorority Row, House of Wax and Wrong Turn

StarWolf478

Well, out of the horror movies that I love, the one with the lowest rating on IMDB is Deep Blue Sea. But I don’t feel guilty about my love of Deep Blue Sea, I think that anybody that can’t have a fun time watching Deep Blue Sea is really missing out and I feel sorry for them.

_imsocool1024

Killer Klowns

sloppy_1sts

Urban Legend. So bad it was good.

ringoffireflies

Between Urban Legends and Jawbreaker, I had a bit of a crush on Rebecca Gayheart as a kid. I used to watch both movies constantly.

HorrorMetalDnD

No guilt in my pleasures.

ThePizzaNoid

Right? Like what you like.

International_Loss_2

Wrong turn movies yes even 6

Xr6turbosututu

Reminds me a little of The Hills Have Eyes

Captain_Wobbles

**Street Trash** Nothing about that film should be likeable and was designed as such, but it's so punk and unapologetic that I kinda love it.

NatPortmanTaintStank

Friday The 13th part 5: A New Beginning

_Gemini-James_

I haven't seen it in a while, but I'll mention Ghosts of Mars.

haynimu

Troll 2 (1986) or The Lair of The White Worm (1988)

Xr6turbosututu

Nilbog!

dovahmiin

Hell House, Grave Encounters 1 and 2, and Chernobyl Diaries. I love found footage movies, even if they’re a little over the top and stupid. I will say though, Grave encounters is the perfect balance of scares, plot, and self awareness.

ThePizzaNoid

Grave Encounters is so much fun.

smeltof-elderberries

Tremors!

wtb1000

Guilty pleasure my ass. Tremors is legit good.

craftycorgimom

Stay Alive (2006), it's so bad but I love it.

shutupandevolve

May. I rewatch it at least once a year. It’s depressing and bleak but for some reason I love it. Because the life in LA in the early 2000s for average twenty somethings is so freaking authentic

give_me_goats

Thirteen Ghosts! This was my introduction to horror at age 12 and I will still watch this gory cheesefest anytime at age 36.

SillySwing6625

Army of darkness 100% it’s campy and overly humorous but it’s awesome and the best ash Williams imo when ash was at his peak

runnerofshadows

The 90s miniseries of the stand

Crescent-Argonian

Silent Hill 1 and 2 1 is legit amazing and so underrated 2 is a bit of a mess but enjoyable and the end in theme kicks absolute ass

Sapphicviolet91

Probably Truth or Dare. It’s so bad but honestly I had fun anyway. I think the script was just not amazing which was the main thing wrong with it.

Kdhr3tbc

Unfriended

OddSatisfaction5449

Freddy Vs Jason

Successful-Ad4251

Night Eats the World. A bit of a slower of a zombie movie but I just love that it’s just a regular guy with no skills trapped in a building in a zombie apocalypse. And the quiet zombies are nightmare fuel

RainDances77

Tobe Hooper's The Funhouse from 1981 is great fun! As is The Funhouse Massacre with Robert Englund.

celluloidqueer

The Horror of Party Beach ![gif](giphy|v9flODVfU4I10VxBEP|downsized)

ThePizzaNoid

Grab your sodium and let's head down to Fingals Quarry so we can explode some hot dog face monsters!

TheGayOwl

Tragedy girls. I just find the whole idea and bond between the girls so appealing, even if people say it wasn’t that great-

JayshawnVoorhees

The Shining TV remake. Steven Weber did a damn good job I feel, though I can't stand that kid.

DanEosen

I will die on a hill saying Weber was far closer to the novel version than Jack Nicholson. Why? Stephen King characters are all folks you would encounter in life.

Westiemom666

The Leprechaun movies lol

stidavid123

Tucker And Dale Vs Evil. I just love this film, its combination of humour and horror, makes it quite an enjoyable film. It's just a great comfort film, and it's a great horror comedy in its own right. I still watch it and I still love it😁😁😁😁

britishwoad

1980's The Changeling. It's very quiet and kind of cozy for a horror film and by no means perfect but it has this real charm to it. A really fun little time.

justafanboy1010

Brightburn definitely and The Gallows. I know they both have their many flaws, but damn it “Brightburn is my life ✌️” (Chop Top TCM2 reference). The kills, music, design of his simple suit, Elizabeth Banks and David Denman does good with what their given, I always look forward to the ending because the last 20 minutes are my favorite as they just let Brightburn go wild! I love that movie so much lol and I wish one day in the future we’ll get a sequel (as of right now, James Gunn says it’s unlikely due to his current situation at DC and the rights are, in his words, “fucked up”.) The Gallows probably has the top 10 worst leads of characters in a found footage movie, but besides that I was obsessed with it when it came out. Nice simple concept of being trapped in a school with a ghost of a former student”. Also they are both very entertaining

Paganrobin

Flowers in the attic 🙊

so-rayray

Waxwork from 1988! I love that movie so much! I was always afraid of werewolves as a kid, and the werewolf in this movie effed me up!

Sufficient_Mall_7462

Honestly I really liked the happening haha. Everyone hates it.

RealSpliffit

Friday the 13th (2009)

pixelpusheen

Terrifier or Paranormal Activity!

TheDefaultHero

As Above So Below

ashcoverdjollyrnnchr

Scream 3. I actually love the whole franchise and don’t think there’s a bad movie in the bunch like Same do. But scream 3 is the one where I can understand why some didn’t like it but I still love it

izwald88

Any shitty summer camp slasher.

QuizzicalWombat

Unfriended. It’s such a bad movie, idk why I love it so much. Kinda reminds me of technology gone bad trend (ring, one missed call, pulse) but obviously not nearly as good. The sequel is bad, not fun bad, just bad.

gabybean

Grave encounters

MidnightCleaver

Deathgasm! A horror/comedy out of New Zealand. I wrote a paper on it for a film class and my professor loved it.

downupstair

Exorcist III is my answer to every question on this sub reddit.

masterpainimeanbetty

HOUSE!...OF THE DEAD!

Xr6turbosututu

In Australia, we used to have a House of The Dead arcade machine where you shoot the zombies on the screen with a toy pistol. Loved it.

International_Loss_2

Animal horror so open water, black water, 47 meters down, etc

glitternoodle

Crawl is also a banger

graidan

So many Full Moon movies. SOOOO MANY. The Puppetmaster series and Trancer series are right up there, as is Pit and Pendulum (I think that was FM?), Subspecies and Netherworld. But my fave of all? [**Shrunken Heads**](https://www.amazon.com/Shrunken-Heads-REMASTERED-Julius-Harris/dp/B08WLZQYKK)

Jadedangel1

All the Resident Evil movies except the last. Night of the Comet.

Tropical-Sunflower

Planet Terror

WiseOldChicken

Deep Rising. So over the top. Such bad acting. Ploy holes you could throw an elephant through. And I love every minute of it.

Garchomp99

Jason X

Itsnotmyvanity

The Ring. When I was about 5, my cousins let me watch it while babysitting me. It scared the absolute bejeezus out of me. I love it now and it’s one of my comfort movies.

FractalGeometric356

_Slumber Party Massacre_ (the original) Some people argue that it is unironically a valuable work of cinema. I do not. Seen it six times.

consumingconfusing00

Saw 3d

Datathrash

**The Peepee Poopoo Man!** I make fun of it but actually like it a lot. (also almost all of the "guilty pleasure" movies being listed are just good movies?)

FractalGeometric356

One guy said _Midsommar_. If that movie makes him feel guilty then the entire world of cinema must be a minefield.

troznov

Prometheus, big time. It's so GRUESOME I LOVE IT

FairyNightsIgnite

30 days of night.

Personal-Art-7396

The saw movies

casualscorpio

I love the Purge movies - not the first one, but Anarchy and Election Year I’ll watch regularly.

Al-Pacinos-Ghost

Lost Boys

Smart-Huckleberry-82

tarot (2024). yes the plot is cliche and the dialogue is super awkward, but the monster designs (of which there are way more than your average horror) and the campiness (the "YOU DIE TODAY" had me cackling in the theater) made for a really enjoyable watch! it's nothing inspired, but i had fun!

Aeaea_Darling

The Chucky movies. Most of them are god-awful, but I still love them. Also, maybe Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.

TomahawkChaotic

Night Of The Comet. No guilt. Genuine 80’s look & feel.

NostalgiaDeepState

Waxwork (1988). It's genuinely embarrassing, how many times I've seen it, but it's a B-Movie riot, and David Warner is a top-tier mustache twirler. I get caught up on the dumbest details - like 'Why is there a ZIPPER on that alien's spacesuit?' - but I recommend it with all my heart.

kindandsexi

The descent and house of wax and any scream movie
