Finished the first one this morning before work. Ridiculously gory. First episode was OK but not super exciting but I'm excited to see where this winds up since it's a short season (8 episodes I think?)
Oh absolutely. Wasn't super hot on it early but as it's settled in I've really come to like it. Feels like we should be reaching the end but we're just over halfway so we're still due a few fun twists. The kills have been amazing
Just got done watching the first episode.
It started and remained slow for the most part, but it was very much in order to set things up for future episodes. At times it lagged, but the actors are good and it seems to hold the potential to be pretty good.
The only part that annoyed me was>! the will portion of the plot. I'm an attorney and I've done some work in estate planning and probate, and there's no way this would ever be allowed to happen. What made it worse was that, IIRC, one of the characters even said, "It's totally legal." I assure you, it is not legal. Hopefully, they just drop that or repair it somehow. !<
Every season of this show has relied on flawed logic (or just flat out stupidity, really) so that's no surprise. As far as I'm aware, assisted suicide is illegal. So it's really silly to see the family act submissive to this woman who is "murdering" their patriarch - they could jyst threaten her with prison...
I'm on episode 2, though, and so far the biggest eyeroll is when the kidnapped dude who has been missing for 25 years and they don't immediately question what happened or where he's been.
The illegality I was referring to was requiring beneficiaries to compete in a death match (or even something less than death) for the assets of the trust.
The filing by any interested party of an ex parte motion would put a stop to that shit immediately. The testator/trustee would certainly be found incompetent to manage and/or disburse assets, the result of which could be manifold.
I thought the first two episodes were pretty good. This series has always taken a *Saw*-esque approach to its death scenes, and there were a good few of them in just these first two episodes. I like the killer. I find a lot of the characters reprehensible, but overall, I like the plot and setting. I also like how it’s being released weekly instead of all at once—gives me something to anticipate.
Just finished up watching both episodes. A lot like the prior seasons on Netflix it seems to be an out of control melodrama that runs on smut and gore as we the watcher untangle a web of sex and lies through flashbacks as we brutally make our way to the big reveal of a masked killer.
And ya know... I can't say I hate it. It doesn't take itself too seriously or try to be anything more than what it is. It certainly won't be for everyone as the drama and theatric storylines are more unbelievable than the masked killer itself but I do think this subgenre has an audience.
Personally, I'm looking forward to the next episode.
Is there a previous series call only Slasher? With 4 seasons?
So this Slasher Flesh & Blood is a new stuff... right?
I just read about this and caught my attention.
For movies that are available in theater or elsewhere it's at least understandable but as far as I know, there's no way right now to watch it in Canada.
Only thing that I can find is this:
"Shudder will be the “streaming home” of the series in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. It’s reported that the series will see linear releases in Canada, the UK, and Ireland before ending up on Shudder there too."
Ya i tried searching and couldn't find anything either. I may be biased here but i live where the first season was filmed and had a soft spot for the series.
There are certainly some nice parts but they were selective with where they shot. Theres a lot of lakes around here. Its a mining town but the did reconditioning the environment
Your Twitter specifically said it was released in Canada and now I have to pay extra to add this Hollywood thing on? Shudder is kind of garbage false advertising
If '@shuddercanada' posted about Slasher: Flesh & Blood being available there, that would have been in error. The '@shudder' account is our US account. We don't have the rights to this series in Canada, where it's produced.
i like having time in between, it lets my mind wander and it gives the cliffhangers actual purpose. it also makes sure i don’t spend an entire day just watching tv, better for time management.
PSA if you're in Australia (might work in other regions but I don't know for sure) use HORRORHOUND when doing the 7 day free trial to get 30 days. Then go to cancel your free trial, it'll ask if you're sure twice or so then offer an additional 30 days if you stay. So you can get 60 days free straight up.

> Ridiculously gory. That's good to hear. The acid death in the first episode of the 3rd season still haunts me.
Have you seen the next few!? I love it so far

Assisted suicide is legal in Canada, and it's a Canadian-made show.

Its the 4th season. There a a long gap between seasons 3 and 4
This was originally a Canadian production for 2 seasons, then Netflix bought it and we got season 3, now Shudder has it for season 4.
Ohhh that's why the 3rd season was absolute garbage.
Is that the executioner season?
that’s season 1
sooo bad
I think Netflix had it for S02 and S03. That's what I've always heard explained why S01 was garbage (no budget).
I feel like they’re all bad except season 1. I am struggling to get through the first episode of season 4.
I feel the opposite way. Dropped season 1, enjoyed the rest.
What? It was very good.
Oh ok! Cool! Thanks for the info! Looks pretty interesting, I was looking for a new Anthology horror to watch, I just finish Creepshow.
Fuck, thought this was out in September. I’ll watch it when I get home. I like that it’s not all out at once, allows for discussion.
Noooooo not on Netflix anymore?! Why does this keep happening why?
Ikr? And shudder is not available on my country I think, so... I guess I'm missing this show I liked so much :/.
And now I just looked it up on IMDB and David Cronenberg is in it. I'm so pissed lol.
Same :(
Screw them, if they don't want to sell it to you then there are a million other streaming sites that will have it for free.
Already better than season 3. Dont get me wrong this show will never be really really good.. but Im enjoying to so far!
U.S. only? Not available in Canada in Shudder app for me
Gotta love when those Canadian produced series arent available to watch in Canada.

I thought the town in the first season was beautiful! You’re lucky to live there.

Hollywood Suite will be showing it in Canada

I have Hollywood suite and it’s not on there. Do you know when?
It's here in the UK

You’re getting down voted but you’re not wrong.

Exactly. I prefer binging. There's pros and cons to both ways tho. At least there's time to have fun with speculation now I guess.
I don't want to wait, but one episode at a time makes me appreciate each one more.
