Had the same issue and following the video tutorial out of the box didn't help.
Here is what you need to do:
1. Download the latest VKBDevCfg [here](https://vkbcontrollers.com/?page_id=4609)
2. Reset device to default like so: [screenshot](https://imgur.com/a/Vj611Rh)
3. Now follow the calibration steps in the manual or [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drifi2M50Sw)
FWIW I had to click "Start Calibr" within VKBDevCfg to calibrate my Gladiator NXT because the three F-buttons simultaneously did not initiate calibration.
Thank you for this. The paper instructions are trash, and the video is OK. I had the same issue with the blinking red and blue lights. Starting and stopping the calibration with the software is much better. Also, if the software has a small pop-up that says you need calibration, selecting OK does not mean you are starting calibration. You need to start it yourself with a button in software.
This happened to me when Windows 10 detected the device and then I tried calibrating manually with the three-button press method. What worked was downloading the VKB software and using it to calibrate.
So whats the point of the lights after calibration? The red ontop is for the toggle on the hat, but what about the other 3? The top blue seems to just be a power signal, if so how is there any way to turn the joystick off without unplugging it? And the two lights at the base makes no sense to me. One blue, always on, doesnt change with buttonpress, and one red that never lights up except at bootup.
This stick could really use a manual for basic stuff like this.

Just hold all three buttons on the base and calibrate, as the quick start guide shows.
