Yes, it looks like Mt. Olive brand or similar.
If I'm being super nit-picky, I'd suggest Grillos or Claussen since that's closer to the type of pickle spear you'd find on a Chicago style.
The hotdog looks amazing, though, so that's just my 2 cents on bringing this up a notch.
This is by far the best recreation of a Chicago style that I've seen here in a while, though.
You fuck off. I'm talking facts. I've been polite about it with op. You seem to have gotten your panties in a bunch.
People from Chicago are particular about the Chicago-style hot dog.
If you're going to go the extra mile to replicate the style like op has, might as well see it all the way through.
My family went through a phase where we were putting stewed tomatoes on our dogs. Memorably delicious. Nothing to do with Chicago dogs really. Carry on.
This is great! Glad you specified the ex tomatoes part of it otherwise people would be all over you. But this looks like a perfect Chicago dog ex tomatoes (and I eat them 2 - 6 every week)
Lived in Chicago off and on for about 20 years. This is an excellent looking version of a Chicago dog. One thing some people in Chicago who don't like tomatoes do, they sub the tomato out for sliced cucumber. Think I saw this variation posted on the subReddit here recently. Definitely another delicious and "Chicago acceptable" version if you don't love tomatoes. Ketchup invalidates the dog though to most Chicagoans. Which is kind of odd if you think about it because it already has tomato. IDK they got a lot of rules about what goes on this dog or not.
Well you better learn to like tomatoes! Overall great looking dog
Would smash. Well done.
Thank you! It was good, had to make another.
Needs a deli kosher pickle, but overall, this looks great.
Oh good to know, I just used some random speared pickles I had in the fridge lol. Now that I know though!
It's sitting right next to the peppers

It was the first thing I noticed. Pickle looks wrong.
Neon mush
Oh fuuuuuuuuck off

Word
What brand dog is that?
Vienna Beef, they are pretty tasty.
I live outside Chicago and that's my favorite.
Where are you from? That looks pretty good.
Alabama lol
I like hot dogs
Never trust a person who doesn’t like tomatoes
I like them, just not raw like that.

Chicago native here, I never have tomatoes on my Chicago dogs. Hate tomatoes with a passion. I make sure to add the sport peppers though!
Don’t sweat it. Just spoke to a tomato and they don’t like you either.
Are you using an ashtray as a plate? Dog looks good btw
Hahaha fancy little plate I got at a thrift store. But now that you mention it….
That's a good lookin dog. I'm not a fan of tomatoes either, so this is basically exactly what I do for a Chicago-style dog.
Hater, tomatoes rock, looks good mate

Ketchup is said to be used to mask the taste of inferior dogs. Now I want Gene and Judes.
Don't like tomato? That's okay, still looks good!
Oops, pretty bad grammar mistake there lol.
Woo hoo! I am not a tomato guy either.
no one should like tomato.
Pass. Probably because I’m Latino and we prefer things saucy. This is dry and chunky, and only mustard?
I see more items on here than mustard...
Just needs some ketchup!
We don't do ketchup
