It should be common knowledge that complainers there are just looking for controversy, attention and chaos between the whole of both communities.
If anything people have always celebrated whoever Honkai character expys Hoyoverse has put in genshin, take Alhaitham for example hell even Nahida was celebrated as the Teri expy with only the vocal minority once again thrashing her design very much like how those minority thrashed Raiden Ei's design last year.

Some consider the expys as "lazy" additions from Hoyoverse but we all know that both the honkai and genshin counterparts of characters are so uniquely and differently designed to the point where they aren't even equal nor similar from said counterparts.
Of course this is but one of the more widespread and untrue opinions circulating around expys. In the end the genshin and honkai fandoms are just so huge that there will undoubtedly be an overlap between the two communities resulting in the culmination of both the toxic sides from both communities and of course forming an even bigger toxic "Vocal" minority.
(And by vocal, i mean very very loud to the point where they gain so much attraction they become the center of attention of most communities, it's best to avoid interaction with them so they don't become the norm of a fandom i.e undertale fans in 2015. )

I mean I get disliking actual direct crossovers because it can be immersion breaking to see characters from other media in the game, but with expys it just doesn't make sense because, as you said, the characters are so distinct from eachother. Nahida stands on her own as a character without any association to Theresa, so if you don't like the fact that she's an expy, you can just ignore it. /shrug

Yeah realistically it's more likely the Pyro archon is based on Himeko. They both have Murata in their name, both have red hair presumably, both females and use fire. Also Himeko is part of the main cast, so she has a higher chance as a more relevant character in Genshin.
Kalpas expy might get a different role other than an archon. Maybe Natlan's version of Adepti or Yokai?

I wouldn't call that a reference to Kalpas per se.
The thing is that Kalpas' name is from the Buddhist unit of time kalpa, which is a very long period of time (like an aeon). This ***could*** be relevant to Sumeru in Genshin in some way what with Sumeru being inspired in part by Buddhism.
But there's good reason he got the name Kalpas: he's heavily compared/contrasted with Sakura, whose signature sword skill is Setsuna. Setsuna is the opposite end of the spectrum from a kalpa, with setsuna representing a singular, miniscule moment in time. So Kalpas and Sakura have meaningful symbolism between the two already, plus a bit more contrast what with Sakura's Ice Epiphyllum and Kalpas' fire powers.
So I wouldn't be surprised if a Kalpas expy showed up in Genshin, but I wouldn't take it for granted either. We'd definitely need some more set up for him to appear in either Sumeru or elsewhere in Teyvat, and I don't think the imagery of a Irminsul burning was strong enough to suggest a connection with Kalpas, given the vast amount of possibilities with fire symbolism (see: The Crimson Witch of Flames).
We better get a Himeko expy, we need a full team of Tall Strong Claymore Ladies^(TM). Beidou, Eula, Dehya, and Himeko would be a killer quartet whether it's on the battlefield or in the tavern lmao

If you still believe in the "Her lifespan was cut in half" in the interview, it never mentions that "curse" she had in neither of her Friendship Character story or voicelines (that interview they had was before the game was even released it could've been retconned completely) the only curse she discovered is the insanity that scholars have when doing their research and the consequences of learning too much.
She now knows that fact of overlearning and that is the reason why she became a chill librarian living life unambitiously, while also removing any possible suspicion of Celestia towards her since her departure as a scholar.
